Two problems related to transmission gear slipping have been reported for the 1998 Honda Prelude. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
It has been known that Honda Prelude 1997-1999 transmissions are faulty. Mine failed yesterday during a normal trip on a free way. Gears slipped and a strong smell was noticeable inside the car. To avoid any emergency situation I had to park my car on the shoulder immediately and wait for a tow truck.
While driving the vehicle at 65mph transmission slipped into lower gear loss speed, causing to pull out of the road. Dealer put a new transmission, five months later consumer had the same problem. Please provide further information.
