The contact owns a 2001 Honda Prelude. The contact stated that while parked, she was able to remove the key from the ignition with the vehicle in neutral. The failure recurred intermittently for approximately one year. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for the failure and was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 105,000 and the current mileage was 123,000.

2 Ignition problem of the 2001 Honda Prelude

Failure Date: 08/01/2007

On two separate occasions when applying the brakes when coming to a stop the engine cuts off, without warning, no jerking, nothing. The dash had three lights lit as when you turn the ignition on before you start the car. The car can be restarted immediately after engine dies. Taking it to Honda on 8/7/07.

3 Ignition problem of the 1998 Honda Prelude

When I turn the key, my car won't start. Not every time, but enough times that it makes me very nervous that eventually it will never start. After turning the key 2 to 4 times, it eventually starts. Dt.

4 Ignition problem of the 1999 Honda Prelude

Car looses power when cold outside and hesitates or loses power while at crusing speed. Honda service said that the computer in the accord sometimes can't keep up with the car and causes hesitation so it must be the same here.
