1 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/26/2025

Rust in the frame- missing parts - holes.

2 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/11/2025

Recall was initiated because salt used on roads during winter could accumulate along the rear frame, where the fuel tank is mounted, causing corrosion and potentially leading to the fuel tank becoming unsecured. Affected vehicles: the recall covers 2006-2014 Honda Ridgeline pickup trucks that were sold or ever registered in the salt-belt region. Salt-belt states: the affected states include connecticut, delaware, illinois, indiana, iowa, kentucky, maine, maryland, massachusetts, michigan, minnesota, missouri, new hampshire, new jersey, new york, ohio, pennsylvania, rhode island, vermont, virginia, west virginia, washington d. C. , and wisconsin. This is a known issue, I have a huge rusted hole in the truck, and it's not covered because I don't live in a surrounding state of kentucky or virginia but I live within 50 miles of both of these states. This known recall should be expanded to include tennessee and north carolina and it's ridiculous to recall 50 miles away but not here. Why would you allow this?.

3 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/26/2024

Noticed rust on driver side frame rail.

4 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/25/2023

My vehicle was recalled for the rusting rear frame (Honda case #14076773) which I took into the local Honda dealer (stafford brown in arlington va). The service manager at the dealer explained the subframe is rusted extensively to the extent that it is a safety issue. The service manager noted, while the vehicle passed the required Honda test specified in the Honda recall, it is a hazard, and the vehicle would likely fail the same test in 6 to 12 months. The service manager noted they can only address what is specified in the recall. The manager submitted the concern and pictures to the Honda dpsm. The manager also provided me with a copy of the pictures. I also submitted the pictures, to include the email from the service manager to Honda USA. Honda USA rep, ms kennedy, (case # 14076773) contacted me and apologized for the situation I am in but offered no means to address the safety concerns. Honda could not explain why they have no remediation for the rust issue that is still a safety hazard when the recall was for rust. Honda is not addressing the issue that they responsible for and was required to remedy by NHTSA, which is rust. I am attaching the pictures and emails sent to me by the Honda service manager.

It has been well past the 60 days from the date the dealer was first contacted. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

My truck keeps skipping and stalling I've had everything done with my truck that can be done except ive never had the fuel pump relay inspected so please is there any way that I could have this checked at no cost and I do believe this is a safety issue since my truck could just stall out and cut off at any time and I have a 5year old child. This is about the 4th time I'm reporting this to you. And I do know there is a recall with the fuel pump relay. 12 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/09/2018

On 1/9/18, while my husband was driving on a local road in fairmont, wv the dashboard on the passenger's side started smoking. My husband and his friend, stopped the car and exited the car immediately and called 911. Within minutes the smoke turned into a flame. The first responder was a police officer who did not have a fire extinguisher. It took ~10-15 minutes from the call for the fire truck to arrive and the cab of the car was consumed by the fire. It was put out but the entire cab was destroyed and hood and top of car were burned. We have notified Honda corporate. They documented our complaint but nothing else has been done. Please see video below after the fire was put out: https://drive. Google. . Read more...

13 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2015

Only the car , no turn on.

14 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/25/2014

Truck failed to start after work, after several tries the truck started but warning lights came on and there was a knocking noise in the engine. After a couple of seconds the warning lights went off and the noise went away. When I started to drive it surged a couple of times and then ran normal. I checked the engine when I got home to find coolant on the dipstick and very low on coolant in the radiator. I took the truck to a Honda dealer who inspected it and told me what I already knew and said that I need a new engine, they have not told me what the cause is. After a very brief search on the web I found numerous complaints on this model year truck with the same problem. Going to dealer today to talk with the service manager and discuss my options and ask for help from Honda on this matter.

15 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/19/2014

When I first bought this vehicle I had a problem with it at 41,000 miles. The fan motor dial would not turn on correctly. I could be driving then if I hit a bump in the road the fan motor would turn on. Now you have to play with it until it turns on to it won't work at all. I think it may have something to do with the wiring because my inside lights don't work right as well. Map light one side works and the other doesn't. I replaced parts and it still doesn't work.

16 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2014

My 2006 Honda Ridgeline lower trunk compartment lid will not open. It clicks like it wants to open but nothing. The key will only turn to about the 1o'clock position and will not turn to the left at all, if is supposed to at all. The clove compartment switch works because when I put it on lock the mechanism will not click at all. . . Which is what's supposed to happen.

17 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/28/2014

I was driving on the freeway when my driver side window shattered. Glass exploded and fell into door. It was loud and nearly caused an accident on the freeway.

18 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/18/2013

2006 Honda Ridgeline with 140,000 miles. All scheduled maintenance performed. Driving home on 9/18/13 on highway, cruise control set to 65 mph, car began to lurch forward a few times. Got off at next exit and revs began to rise as if in neutral. Stopped immediately and called for tow truck. Noticed temp meter was high, but went back down to normal within 15 minutes. "strawberry milkshake" type liquid then poured onto pavement. Truck towed to independent service station. Station concluded that there was a failure of the transmission cooler, which resides within the radiator. Apparently the metal connector that separates the two (chemically incompatible) coolants corroded, the fluids mixed causing the temp to rise and boil over, the mixture of coolants apparently destroys both the radiator and the transmission. Service techs have rarely seen this before on older Toyota 4runners, but not Hondas. However after some research, there are dozens similar incidents reported on the various Honda forums which indicate Honda's awareness and refusal to issue a recall or assume financial responsibility for the catastrophic failure that results (like my $5,765 refurbished transmission, new radiator, hose flushes, etc. ). There are no warning signs for this type of issue. Fortunately I was able to pull off in a safe place, but injuries can surely result from this preventable problem. I have begun the process of requesting financial assistance from Honda, which begins with paying for a diagnosis (2nd opinion) from an authorized Honda dealer. They "warned" me that they cannot consider helping me unless the dealer concludes there is a clear manufacturer's defect.

19 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/05/2009

Had the a/c on and it melted the harness and blew up the heater motor to run the fan.

20 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/22/2006

A recall on rear frame rust compromised with gas tank strapping.

21 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/10/2006

Ridgelines built prior to 8/24/2005 does not support trailers with surge brakes. Tow electrical harness needs a 12v line into the trailer to disengage brakes when trailer is backing up. During reverse, since there is no 12v into the trailer, the trailer cannot be back up. The disk brakes are locked in the trailer. Honda has rectified the issue on newer Ridgelines.
