Blind Spot Detection problems of the 2018 Honda Ridgeline

I have had the vehcile in traffic when it can cause banging sounds, have transmission slippage, and not allow the transmission to shift into higher gears, other occurences include transmission shudder. I was told the reset would be to change the transmission fluid with a 3 flush process at the dealership with a cost in excess of $750. Unfortunately that did not work. I have multiple error code lights on the dashboard that light up to include emission control issue, on the site transmission trouble hub. Rear view camera not working, exposed wires from lift gate operation. I can now see the exposed wires and some have been cut due to operation of lift gate over time.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? rear camera wire harness has failed. When vehicle is in reverse the screen displays a black image. Vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Please see attached image. These wires are visible when the tailgate is open. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? the rear camera adds tremendous safety information as I reverse the vehicle. In every situation this information is valuable; more so in a neighborhoods like the one I live in. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? no. I will mention it during my next routine service. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? no. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? no, first signs were the camera would fail sporadically , now almost permanently. Sometimes after opening/closing the tailgate the camera will work until the tailgate is opened again.

I’m hearing impaired and cannot get in contact with Honda online. Recall kck 22v-867 rvc. I already replaced the item 2 years ago and want Honda to reimburse me for the parts.

Several of these models are having issues with the routine and design of the power supply and signal from the backup camera due to breaking of the wiring harness. My camera stopped working after opening the tailgate in below freezing weather. I noticed a broken wire in the harness. I checked the Honda Ridgeline forum and many owners are experiencing the same problem. I ordered the oem replacement part and it now is working. I trying to get Honda to refund my parts cost of $68. 25. Not including labor of tailgate panel removal along with rear bumper cover. My Honda case numbers are 11916318 and 11967005,.
