1 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 11/13/2025

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Ridgeline. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50-55 mph on I-40 westbound to I-25 and making a turn in a construction zone, the passenger’s side air bag deployed without warning or impact to the vehicle. There were no reported injuries. The air bag control message was displayed after the failure. Two days later, the system indicators produced a failure with the road departure mitigation, collision mitigation, trailer stability control field assist, vehicle stability control, power steering, air bag system, and adaptive cruise control. The brake system warning light was illuminated after the parking brake was released. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was approximately 56,850.

2 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 11/17/2021

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Ridgeline. The contact stated that while stopped behind a truck that had attempted to make a left hand turn, the vehicle began to reverse and tapped his vehicle. There was no visible damage to the vehicle and a police report was not filed. The few days after this incident, the contact had merged onto a highway at 30 mph and attempted to apply his brakes but the brake pedal failed operate as needed. The automatic brake system also failed to operate as needed and the contact crashed into the vehicle in front of him without warning. The airbags deployed upon impact; no injuries were report and no medical attention was required. A police report was filed. Due to the accident, the vehicle was initially towed to an independent mechanic but his insurance had the vehicle towed to the dealer where it remained in their possession. The contact believed that the incident that occurred a few days prior to the second accident may have contributed to the automatic braking system failure. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 28,000.

3 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 02/21/2020

Vehicle requires foot on brake for starting. Upon applying starter button the brake pedal goes down alarming amount if vehicle has been sitting for 30 days as we are experiencing the quarantine. Two trips to the dealer have not provided any satisfactory explanation for my problem.
