Clutch problems of the 2000 Hyundai Accent

1 Clutch problem

Failure Date: 01/22/2000

While driving 62 mph vehicle started accelerating up to a speed of 85 mph, and the brakes would not work. After a minute or two, vehicle slowed down really fast, and driver was able to put on the emergency brake and turn the vehicle off. Vehicle was taken to the dealership. The clutch broke and hit the transmission casing which cracked. Please provide any further information.

2 Clutch problem

Consumer called complaining about clutch having to be replaced approximately every 5000 miles. Vehicle would not show any warning, it would just stop. Manufacturer and dealer were contacted, and stated that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle.

3 Clutch problem

Transmission was replaced when I first bought the car its still the same, clutch will not allow shifter into second gear replaced 3 times.
