The rear windshield shattered for no reason. Because of the tint we had installed it stayed intact but you can't see through it. The car is in my driveway if you want to see it, but I have an appointment for safelite to repair it on Monday, Dec 6, 2021. No, it has not been inspected by the police or anyone else. Safelite will be able to tell what happened when they come out. My husband was at work and the car was parked, when he came out to get in that is when he noticed it. There was no one else near where he parked his car and no evidence of anyone being near the car.
When the car is started, the air bag light turns on and won't turn off. Restarted several times since and the air bag light still stays on. Another issue that I never reported is both driver and passenger sun visors won't stay up. I replaced the driver side, but this is very distracting to a driver to have the visor drop downand feel this should be considered a safety concern. The rest of the information is about the air bag light being on, not the visors.
My car misfired and after that started to sputtering when I idol, slow down or speed up. I got new plugs put in and put some dry gas in tank. Still sputters when in idle or slowing down. Check engine light blinks and then stays on.
Nothing happened but there is a recall on my car.
I've had nothing but trouble since I purchased this vehicle. I bought this car in oct. 2014 and it had over 89,000 miles on it. Two months after receiving this vehicle, I took it to midas to have the oil changed. The mechanic informed me that there was some type of corrosion coming from the oil chamber. He flushed it out and changed the oil. After driving the car for two more months, I noticed some hesitation while excellerating. I had a mechanic look at the car and he told me I needed to change my spark plugs and wires, which I did. Approximately two weeks later, the car started hesitating again. This time it would not go any faster than five mph. I had to have this car towed home. this vehicle was financed for $10,023 and I'm on a fixed income. I had already made car payments totalling over $3000. I was informed that this car has internal engine damage. Diagnosis: 2 bad cylinders and a melted catalytic converter. Price to repair: $2058. For the second time, I had to have this car towed to my home, and it has been sitting there ever since. I'm contemplating whether I should invest any more money in this car because I'm afraid that I'm going to continue having problems. Besides I don't have $2058 for another engine and converter. I received written notification this November that this particular vehicle per my VIN number is on the recall list. I have no way to take it in because it doesn't run. This has got to be the worse investment I've ever made in my life. I've notified the attorney general's office and the better business bureau of my experience with this car. I believe these cars should be taken off of the road due to the many hazards they pose. I will never buy another korean vehicle. For now on, I will only purchase american made cars if only for safety reasons. Can I get a refund on this piece of junk?.
Driver's side visor broke and dropped down blocking vision while driving.
Driver side sun visor fell and will not stay up. I've done some research and found that the Hyundai sonata had a recall for the same problem.
Around 75,000 miles, vehicle is 4 years old, airbag sensor went off (no accident or anything). I brought the car to the dealership to have it looked at. Came back estimating roughly $1,200 repair to replace the passenger side seat. I told them it is probably just a blown fuse and to check for that, they refused and said they've seen the problem before and that the repair is not covered under any warranty and that it was likely my fault due to a spilled drink. I've never spilled a drink in this car or even left the windows open. Therefore, the problem is most likely due to faulty wiring. I refused to pay the $1,200 repair. Now I am writing this because I am likely to fail inspection and will be forced to repair it. I want to increase visibility of this issue.
Driving down the highway at approximately 50 mph, there was a very small bump in the road which caused the sunvisor to fall and totally block my vision. Now it will not stay up. Upon investigation, this is a very common problem on many Hyundai's. They recalled some models, but most they did not. This is a known problem because the replacement part has been completely redesigned.
