1 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/07/2023

The wiring connection between the blower motor into the hvac resistor is melting. There looks to be burn marks on the plastic female plug that goes into the resistor. I sometimes smell like plastic is burning. I have to keep fan at max speed to not use the resistor at all. I believe this could be a fire hazard.

2 Electrical System problem

While my vehicle was in motion, driving straight after 2 right turns, after approximately 5 minutes of driving, a thin wisp of smoke rose up from my steering column, or near my steering column, on the left side. From my general google research, this appears to be an electrical problem.

4 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/16/2015

I have the very basic model of the 2010 Hyundai Accent. As I was driving down the road a woman was nice enough to stop me and tell me my brake lights weren't on, so I pulled over and tried testing it out to see what she was talking about, every time I stepped on the breaks none of the lights came on. I went home and had my step dad take a look but nothing in the fuses were lose and none of the bulbs were burnt out, so we did some research online and noticed that Hyundai sent out a safety recall "Hyundai is recalling 1,059,824 vehicles, including the 2007-'09 Hyundai Accent, because of roll away risk and brake lights that may not illuminate. . " I am more than sure this is effecting my car as well.

5 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/09/2014

My brake lights are all out. All 3. I did some research and found that some cars up until 2009 were recalled for a faulty brake light switch. I am fearful I could put myself or others in harms way. This is a definite safety issue with this vehicle. I am not sure if there are currently other reports but I am doing so now. I am taking it to the dealership ASAP to have it evaluated. A technician has already troubleshooted replacing the bulbs and still not working. He believes it is the switch. This was stated prior to me doing research about a potential issue with Hyundai's brake light switch.

6 Electrical System problem

7 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2014

On March after leaving my daught's house my son noticed that my daughter's 2010 Hyundai Accent's brakes lights and 3rd light weren't working working. The next day my son and I decided to check the fuse box. We changed the 15 amp fuse even though the original one didn't seem broken. After that we again tried the brake light and 3rd and again it didn't work. I'm at my wits end with this 2010 Hyundai Accent because all I seem to have is problems. Before 3 coil wires had to be replaced. The first 2 Hyundai replaced the wires but before replacing the 3rd coil wire the service manager said that he couldn't replace the 3rd coiil wire because Hyundai said that I had to replace the spark plugs first. Which I feel is crazy. But I had the car in the shop(Hyundai) and replaced the plugs. I feel Hyundai knew about this problme as well as the current brake problem and this should be a recall on this brake light problem.

8 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/06/2013

The brake lamp switch became defective intermittently, approximately 10,000 miles ago. It has now failed completely. . Read more...

9 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/10/2013

I took the car to have the brakes done. The shop did an inspection and found all brake lights not working tracing it to the brake light pedal switch. I contacted Hyundai and they stated the 2010 Accent was not part of the recall campaign but 2009 are, even though it is the same part? I took it to my Hyundai dealer and they replaced the defective switch with the new revised switch, since the old switches are shown to fail prematurely. I would advise any owner of a Hyundai or kia to either have the switch replaced or check it weekly until the part is put on the recall campaign. This could be a serious hazard to you, your passengers and other cars on the road behind you.
