October 2017 I purchased a 2017 Hyundai Accent. During my very first month driving this car right bumper clip broke. As I was under warranty took car in complained to the dealership. A tech came out and basically wacked it back in place. So now I notice both left and right sides of bumper are off track. My son is a licensed mechanic. Before I took it back to dealership he had checked and said mom your clip is broke. So he looks back under it again and now both clips are broke. On 9/13/17 go back in. Hyundai notes in my paperwork clips are broke but failed to repair again at a little over 30,000 miles they note it again and failed to repair. This is a safety issue and I feel it should be a recall. The clips are cheap plastic and if it comes off I fear I will be in an accident. I have also been throwing pods module defect codes and they just keep resetting it. This air light and OCS mat defect has shown up since I first purchased the car. So for 6 years code just keeps getting reset. After calling Hyundai they are finally going to repair it. So my family has been endangered for 6 years. I'm also throwing a catalytic code and that's been going on since a little over 50,000. I called a local Hyundai dealership and was told warrenty only covers a certain part of the converter. I'm at 79,000 and fed mandates say manufacturer must cover it up to 80,000. I don't know what to do and all codes just keep being reset. Car is currently undergoing a fuel consumption test as it's been eating oil like crazy since a little over 50,000.

I'm not sure.
Me and my wife was driving on the freeway towards san antonio for new year's. We were about 130 miles out when the engine light started blanking on and off. The car started to slow down so we pulled over to see what was wrong with it. We open the front hood of the car and the engine was really hot. So we took it to a technician we know and had him to work on the car. After he ran a diagnostic test to see what was wrong with the engine I found out that we either need a new motor or we would have to get a new car. From my knowledge one of the sparrplugs was not connecting so it was causing the eggine to over hear. So at some point the engine was going to burn out. We saw smoke coming out of the engine. Which reminds me of when we first got the car. The car cut off because the engine got to hot and started burning.
My vehicle has caught fire on 11/14/20 as it was parked at resident. We heard a pop sound and then fire started. June I had my battery replace. Feb I had issue with the )2 sensor that has been taken car of. After the fire I received a recal notice.
Underside, wheel wells, and now body of car are rusting out. The front control arms needing to be replaced because of the rusting. A mechanic asked what had happened to the car and if it had been sitting for a long time. The car has not been sitting and is driven under normal conditions for mostly to and from work. The mechanic stated he'd not seen such bad rusting like that.

Unable to open driver's side door to exit vehicle. I have to roll down window and use exterior handle to get out of vehicle. The vehicle was stationary. My warranty was 2 months and 2 days expired. Dealership wanted $140 just to diagnosis the problem. I did not have the money to do this. My son removed the door handle and found a broken plastic clip that normally would engage and open the door. We were unable to find a replacement part. I am concerned that if I need to exit the vehicle quickly, I would be unable to do so.
My vehicle was involved in a collision yesterday that broke both headlights, buckled hood, knocked the engine in to the transmission, and busted the front fan and coolant. The airbags didn't deploy and neither did the seat belt lock. The driver was injured with his lip, nose and forehead busted because the safety features didn't work on this vehicle.
Water getting inside of car doors during/after light rain. Considerable amounts of water drain out of door bottom drain holes when car doors are first opened after rain storm. Some water apparently does not drain until all 4 doors are opened. I have waited as much as 24 hours on an hot day before opening car doors and still have water draining out. Concerned about long term rust out of door bottoms.
On easter Sunday 04/01/2018 I was in an accident that caused ,$ 10,800. 00 in front end collision damage , no airbags deployed. The resulting collision caused my seatbelt on break 3 of my left ribs . I had accidentally dropped a closed water bottle between my legs , said bottle then rolled up under brake pedal , after I looked down to see where it went I looked up to my horror discovered a red ishtar with a car stopped if front of me . I slam on what brake I had available cut shell hard right and collided left front of my car into right rear of bumper in front of me , I then ricochet into guard rail thus desert he other front side of my vehicle . Again neither front or side airbags deployed.
I live where it snows. When driving down the road, the snow accumulates around the front tires and on front bumper. The accumulation of snow on my front bumper is pushing the bumper off. On both passenger and driver side of bumper are slowly being pushed off car by snow. The side of bumper is not bolted to car. It is being held by plastic clasps along top of bumper. I am afraid to drive to work because bumper might fall off while driving. Due to icy roads, my speed is 35 to 40 mi.

This vehicle has excessive rust underbody, and the fuel tank straps are rusted along with just about the whole frame. The brakes are now squealing and rubbing after an alleged underbody rust treatment, which sprayed over the old rust! Hyundai has offered a "wax treatment" which is basically waxing my rust. The fuel straps seem to me to be a safety issue of great importance, as well as the brakes. The driver's side seatbelt does not always fasten and I was told that there's nothing wrong with it. Hyundai refuses to address the safety issues, stating the car is out of warranty, yet they admit the original frame coating was too thin.

While driving on interstate in phoenix at noon on a dry and clear day, traffic stopped abruptly. I rear-ended a full sized pickup truck. The front end went mostly under the truck, shattered the upper half of the bumper and headlights, folded the hood in half. The windshield was also broken. My head hit the steering wheel and no airbags were deployed. The police report estimated speed at impact to be 25 mph but there was not an extensive investigation.

Passenger side door handle fell off upon trying to open, contacted manufacturer was told there is a recall but not for the month my car was made. (6 months ago) I paid to have that door handle fixed. Yesterday I went to enter the driver side, same thing happened, something snaps and falls inside the door and the handle is not longer able to be used . The vehicle was parked and not running during both situations.

I rented this vehicle from alamo car rental, lax, on August 14, 2015 and returned it to alamo lax on September 3, 2015 for the following reason. The front bumper cover spontaneously detached from the body. The auto had been parked overnight in the housing complex parking lot. I discovered it upon walking to the car in the morning. There was no sign of any impact or trauma that might have caused the separation. It was as if two pieces that fit together simply came apart.

I was in an accident on October 14, 2013 where I struck a deer head on at 50mph and the airbags did not deploy. I wrote to Hyundai and complained, and after their "investigation", they determined that I was not entitled to any assistance. Well, two nights ago, on Wednesday, December 18, 2013, I struck and went under a Ford f150 truck. I was pinned in the vehicle. My airbag did not deploy - again. How am I to feel safe in this vehicle? their "investigation" said that the airbags were in working order and that simply hitting a deer would not make them go off. Well, this time I hit and went under a vehicle and was pinned in my vehicle and they still didn't go off. I am so disappointed in Hyundai. This was my first new car. And it has lasted me 1 1/2 years, not even. I was not cited for the accident as the officer said it was not my fault. My insurance company is considering totaling the vehicle. I am beyond upset. I'm opening another complaint against Hyundai, maybe they will "get it" this time. This is unacceptable!!!!!.
The contact owns a 2001 Hyundai Accent. The contact stated that the front frame had become severely corroded. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 64,000.
Paint on rear bumper is cracking and peeling.
On Monday, October 14, 2013 I was traveling east bound on us17 in suffolk, va at approximately 8:30pm at the posted speed limit of 50mph when I struck a full-sized male deer head-on. He came out of nowhere - he was notin the road or my line of vision prior to me striking him. The vehicle came to an abrupt halt, but no airbags deployed. The deer flew into the median, where it died. I immediately contacted the local police and I have an incident report. I then contacted my insurance company and arranged for the vehicle to be repaired. No one can tell me why the airbags did not deploy. I have pictures from all sides of the vehicle detailing the damage. I would think that a head-on collision at 50mph would warrant an airbag deployment. I no longer feel safe in this vehicle, and am now afraid to drive at night. I have filed a complaint with Hyundai directly, and they have sent me a laundry list of items that they wanted me to provide to them. Per my phone call with them this morning, that information was received on 11/04/13. On 11/24/13, the "independent investigator" contacted me regarding a visit to my vehicle to make a download for Hyundai the next day. He did so, and took a lot of pictures and was with the vehicle for over an hour. I also forwarded him the photos that the repair shop took. Last night I called again, and was given the name of "[xxx]" as the one assigned to my case. To date, I have yet to have any correspondence with this [xxx]. I am very dissatisfied, I fell unsafe, and am completely frustrated with Hyundai right now. The airbags, per their own manual, should have deployed at a head-on 50mph crash. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
