1 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 04/25/2010

The contact owns a 2006 Hyundai Azera. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 30 mph, the side curtain air bag suddenly deployed. After the deployment, the air bag and traction control lights illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership where she was informed that the failure was caused by a problem with the air bag and instructed to call the manufacturer. The contact called the manufacturer and was informed that the failure was due to a collision sensor and they could offer no assistance because the sensor indicated that the vehicle had been in a collision. The current and failure mileages were approximately 48,000.

2 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 04/09/2009

Drivers side air bag deployed but was so small drivers head struck roof of car causing neck and back injuries and never made any contact with airbag. Drivers forward motion in accident was stopped by hitting head on roof.
