My car caught on fire while driving.
Trunk latch; trunk will not open from inside of car. There is a current recall for this same issue on other Hyundai models but not the Azera.
While driving on the interstate, the panoramic sunroof exploded. Pieces of glass flew off my car. The explosive sound was very loud and startling, but I was able to maintain control of my vehicle. Vehicles behind me were potentially impacted by flying pieces of glass. I took my vehicle directly to the dealer, (nalley Hyundai) who confirmed the glass shattered. There was no evidence of any foreign object impacting the glass. There were no warnings lights, messages or any other symptoms of an impending issue. Reported to Hyundai USA, case # 19935493.

While driving on the highway the front glass panel of my 2013 Azera panoramic sunroof cracked from both corners, see pictures. I did not hear anything that would cause this type of damage. It just started to fall apart, glass pieces everywhere.
Not sure that it's so much of a safety issue,as it is a black paint issue. I bought the truck in the early part of may 2019. I washed it a week later and noticed black bubbles toward the drivers back window. When I had problems getting the truck to pass emissions. I took it to the dealership. I pointed it out to the saleswoman. She didn't say much. So today I washed my truck again. Noticed 2 chips down to the primer on the hood. I took pics. I know we have a 7 year warrantee on the paint and interior. My problem is I'm afraid the repaint will not be nor last as long as the original paint job. I paid 53k for the truck with 6 miles on it. Now I'm the one with the burden that it might have to be repainted. I feel they need to look at their black paint. Make sure that the paint is reliable. I took pics. They could be better. I can take more. I'd also be willing to take the truck down so they can analyze the paint.

While commuting home from work in late afternoon, roughly 6:30 p. M. Of 9/26/18 the panoramic sunroof of my 2017 Hyundai Azera spontaneously exploded from the inside out followed by shattering and glass debris to be expelled from my vehicle onto the interstate and most likely vehicles driving directly behind me. The weather condition was sunny with a temperature around 80 degrees. I was in the middle lane of a 3 lane highway driving at 60 mph when suddenly I heard a loud "pop" that sounded as if a gunshot went off in my vehicle. The sound was deafening and extremely startling only to then be followed by the sound of breaking glass and air being sucked out. It took me a moment to get my bearings as I thought my back windshield must have been hit by a stray bullet somehow. Once assessing the back windshield through my rearview mirror I realized it was not damaged and the sucking air sound and glass breaking off was from overhead. My sunshade was thankfully closed but the exposed whole in the glass must have created a vacuum so the fabric began to pull upward. I was able to maintain control of my vehicle even though shaken by the incident and exited the highway as quickly/safely as possible to seek a public parking lot that I could stop at and safely exit my car to assess the damage. I found that my sunroof had indeed spontaneously exploded at the center where glass was visibly blown upward and from the explosion fractured/shattered glass was throughout the entire glass sunroof panel at that point. I began necessary steps with my insurance and notifying the dealership of the incident. I was given a service date of 10/2/18 nearly a week later and was not provided a loaner vehicle to drive in the interim. I was told to cover with a tarp or trashbags and tape down to contain the remaining glass so I did not cause additional road hazards until the vehicle could be serviced.
The vehicle was parked in our driveway and had not been driven for about 12 hours. We were told by the fire department that the engine smoldered for hours and broke through the fire barrier into the car and ignited the inside.

The left rear door opened while driving as the door is unable to be closed and remain closed. This is not a locking problem as the door will not stay in a closed position.
While sitting in a drive thru window at a complete stop, my car experienced sudden unintended acceleration and crashed into the stop car in front of me. The rate at which my car accelerated was so great that I had whip lash from this event. I am scared to drive my car again. I called Hyundai who assured me that this did not happen as I stated and there is nothing wrong with their cars. Interestingly, my car had just been at the dealer(2 weeks) for a TSB on "emission control" issue. My car was sluggish and staling when I came to a stop. Now 2 weeks later I am slamming into a stopped car at what seemed like 60mph!! please help me.
Two issues since vehicle purchase (Dec. 2013): (1) rearview mirror drops when closing driver door. Requires adjustment every time vehicle is used. (2) trunk pops open when vehicle is stationary or moving. Hyundai dealer advised that there was no explanation for this. Hoping to get the mirror replaced soon, but no answer to the trunk issues yet.
Bought my Hyundai in for problems with my car and was told all my complaints were the way the car was built and nothing could be done about it. . . First my trunk doesn't open all the way answer because there is no motor built into the trunk for it to open on that model car. Second when rear window is open it sounds like the car is going to fall apart very loudly and noisily but that is normal for the way it is built. . Suggested by serviceman either open front window so the noise should lesson, but did not, then keep rear windows closed at all times. Using to much gas they tested it and state it clocks in at 33 mpg. Yet everywhere online it stated it gets 29 mpg at the most, so how is it getting 33? 33 mpg my car doesn't even get 29 mpg are you kidding me 33 mpg is way the salesman told me it was but never was. . . Unless you are loaded with money don't buy this gas guzzler!!!! or this load vehicle unless u keep the windows closed!!.
This accident happened in waco, texas, mclennan county. Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling west on fm 308 on the inside lane. Azera was traveling north on fm 933 on the outside lane. The hard plastic undercarriage panel fell down to the pavement in the front where it was attached close to the engine but remained attached at the rear of the car. So it was scrapping the pavement as the car was moving on an expressway going 60 mph at the time. It was lucky for me that it did not break off and hit some other motorist. The bolts that attach it to the car failed. I read Hyundai forums where this has happened to other Azera owners. Took it to the dealer and had a new undercarriage panel installed.
: the contact stated while traveling over bumps there was a rattle under the vehicle. Although the vehicle was inspected by the dealership multiple times, the problem was not determined. The consumer stated hesitation while pulling onto the highway and headlights on vehicle have dark spots hard to see. The dealer stated loose body trim, left front brake is grabbing, and rear speaker making noise. Updated 10/25/07.
