The contact became aware that the VIN was included in NHTSA campaign number: 23v651000 (service brakes, hydraulic), which the contact related to the failure. The contact advised the dealer to perform the recall repair. The dealer informed the contact that the remedy was not yet available. 6 Electrical System problem of the 2013 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 09/22/2023

According to the recall letter that was mailed to me in October of 2023, it says "important safety recall- owners are advised to park their vehicles outside and away from structures until the recall remedy is completed. " it says that the anti lock brake system could leak brake fluid internally and cause an electrical short over time. This could lead to an engine compartment fire while parked or driving. As of today, April 6, 2024 there is no remedy for this recall. I have called the Hyundai dealer many times and asked for a solution. They said there is still no solution and refused to buy back the vehicle because of its age. Instead they suggested I try to sell the car privately.

9 Electrical System problem of the 2014 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 09/01/2023

Received recalled letter in mail for car almost 9 months ago. Hyundai has yet to issue fix. 9 months to fix a potential life threatening issue is ridiculous. To top things off we are told to continue driving the car even though it will eventually explode into a fireball of a mess after enough brake fluid leaks into electrical components. We have a 9 month old baby and the Hyundai Azera is considered our “family car”. Fix this ASAP! you’re putting families in danger. Either fix or supply families with a loaner car. Additionally, the advice from the car company is to leave car outside to avoid your house catching on fire. We are told to keep cars outside knowing these specific cars are theft liabilities.

Checked the brake fluid reservoir and it was almost empty, so added new brake fluid to the proper level and removed the fuse for the the the abs unit so it could not short out again and lose break fluid while driving. If it had happen on the highway could be dead I know the car had a recall for abs unit shorting out and fires while parked, and a relay kit was added to kill power to the abs while parked but what about a short in the abs unit while driving, seams much more dangerous. 21 Electrical System problem of the 2009 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 05/17/2020

Good afternoon, my name is quiana. I purchased my 2009 Hyundai Azera limited edition in 2019 used with 98385 miles after I had the car for 9mths the car stopped running and the company I purchased the car from uses a repair company called silver rock which maintained the car I was told a belt popped after receiving the car back 2 days later the engine blow. They replaced the engine and from there the check engine light stayed on the diagnostics check stated the O2 sensor needed attention repaired that light went off for a week after a week the check engine light returned had it checked again and the O2 sensor showed up again so I had someone else change them again light went off 2 days later the check engine light appeared again but with abs on esc off tpms on had another diagnostics completed and it still shows O2 senors and abs failure and to constantly replace the issue and it's not working properly afterward has a little upset. Now I saw that Hyundai has a recall on my 2009 Hyundai Azera for the abs and the interior light which has stopped as well from my understanding but when I called to get help I was told my car is not a part of that recall which is confusing because I am very much having problems with those systems and from what I've read in the manual multiple chain reactions occur with an abs stops. My car is now not allowing my keyfob to work, the drunk switch on the door and inside the clove box has stopped, and the release for the back seats is not responding I was never given a master key so I can't access the trunk, and the system will unlock the driver door but none of the others there is an issue where the main power box under the hood is not responding to fuse 3,4,17,18,19,20,21,22,23,24 and the same issue is happening to my fuse connection on the inside of the car and when you turn the engine everything is in reverse meaning: door usually lock now the unlock, the ac comes on, the radio comes on, the back window curtain moves. This is unfair to m.

23 Electrical System problem of the 2011 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 09/19/2019

On 9. 19. 2019 my wife and I were driving and the engine stalled 3 times while driving. It started every time without problems, it did not stall again on the return trip. The trip was about 50 miles each way. Over the last 3 years I had engine starting problems 5 times, mostly on hot days and when stopping for a short period, e. G. Stopping for gas, after waiting for +- 10 minutes the engine started normally. The 'engine check' light has been on and off for the last 2 years. I am in the process of obtaining repair information.

26 Electrical System problem of the 2006 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 06/01/2019

The vehicle has a random, chronic no start issue. Everything appears to be working normally, and you will turn the key with no crank. All the dashboard lights work, everything is as normal except it wont turn over. The dealer will not help. They refuse to even attempt replacing parts with my approval, just to try to rule things out. Due to my own investigation into the problem, we have successfully replaced the transmission inhibitor switch twice with good results. That switch will not allow the engine to crank if the car thinks the transmission is not in park. The first time the repair worked for 1 year, and the second time 6-8 months. I'm having the problem again, not sure where to turn for help. Dealer is useless, local shops have no better ideas than I do.

27 Electrical System problem of the 2017 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 04/25/2019

Electrical system seems like it is shorting out. Had to unhook radio as it was draining battery. It shorted and makes a screaching sound when on. Seat was covered by recall. Auto start no longer works. Lights shorting out. Now it starts even moves sometimes but then loses its accelerator. You can press the gas and nothing happens. This happened while I was driving, and now will only move by transmission power. No gas pedal power at all.

Electrical fire.

29 Electrical System problem of the 2013 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 01/13/2019

Took the car to harbor Hyundai in long beach, CA for an srs/airbag warning light that turned on and remained on in the vehicle's instrument cluster upon starting the car on 1/13/2019. The vehicle was stationary and parked in a residential street. This is a big safety concern, as the safety restraining systems may not function properly in the case of an accident. The service department diagnosed the issue with error codes b1490 and b1763, symbolizing an "OCS(occupant classification system) defect" and "OCS ecu defect" in the vehicle, which advised replacement of both the ecu and the passenger seat cushion. This issue seems to directly to relate to Hyundai's "campaign 111" recall which involves vehicles manufactured from may 22, 2012 through November 23, 2012 (just 1 month, 10 days) before my vehicle was built. Because the symptoms in this issue seem almost identical to that recall, this issue might be the same issue as stated in the recall. Unfortunately, the vehicle's VIN does not exist within that previous recall, meaning a large repair expense needs to be paid. The manufacturer was contacted, and a case number was made for the issue reported. Attached are copies of the service department's vehicle obd ii scanner report along with the invoice, an outline of the error codes scanned, and an estimated repair cost.

30 Electrical System problem of the 2006 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 11/14/2018

Any time I let my foot off the gas the car dashboard lights dim, the radio loses volume, and the headlights dim. This is all very noticable. Recently the car would sometimes feel as though the brakes had been stomped on. When this happens I get and abs system failure alert on the dashboard and my check engine light turns on. A couple of times this happened it has completely shut off the engine. Because it turned off I didn't have power steering, so I had to pull over and restart my engine. This happens as I'm driving, I noticed it happens when it shifts down gears. Sometimes when I accelerate and the car shift gears up it can happen as well. I found a notice about a recall on these cars for the abs module system issue. Recall #172.
