Electronic Stability Control problem #1

Came to dealership to get oil changed & they could not start the car. Said I would have to pay for a new inhibitor switch.

Electronic Stability Control problem #2

Light for brakes, abs, eco are on brakes was done.

Electronic Stability Control problem #3

Any time I let my foot off the gas the car dashboard lights dim, the radio loses volume, and the headlights dim. This is all very noticable. Recently the car would sometimes feel as though the brakes had been stomped on. When this happens I get and abs system failure alert on the dashboard and my check engine light turns on. A couple of times this happened it has completely shut off the engine. Because it turned off I didn't have power steering, so I had to pull over and restart my engine. This happens as I'm driving, I noticed it happens when it shifts down gears. Sometimes when I accelerate and the car shift gears up it can happen as well. I found a notice about a recall on these cars for the abs module system issue. Recall #172.

Electronic Stability Control problem #4

On highway heading to hutchinson river parkway from throgs neck bridge in the bronx and the engine stopped responding to the pressure on the pedal. We were in heavy truck and car traffic but were able ,by luck to get into a stripped area to stop. We looked in the manual and found we could restart the engine by turning the ignition on after shutting it down. This happened 3 kmore times until we were able to get to a safe place and were advised by a local Hyundai dealer not to drive the vehicle . We eventually got towed to our home on long island by aaa . Local Hyundai dealer sent us to atlantic Hyundai for repair.

Electronic Stability Control problem #5

Airbag did not deplore until after the car fully stopped but the seat belt on the drivers side tighten continuously until I got a bleed injury inside my right breast the righting stopped only after I was abke to release it then afterwards the airbag deplored only in the drivers side no other airbags came out during this accident.

Electronic Stability Control problem #6

1. My car started by itself at least 5 times. When I went outside to turn it off it was already off! my remotes will not allow me to remotely turn off the car [ch]! on 1-19-2015, the car started unassisted again & the trunk lid popped open & up 3 feet! my controls only allow ½ inch up! 2. After 1-8-2015, I discovered that my driver seat 2 position settings have been changed more than 6 times but not by me [ch]! 3. After 1-8-2015, all the door locks unlock occasionally (several times now) by them self about 2 or 3 seconds after I manually push the button to lock them immediately after I enter my car [ch]! 4. At least 17 times my rear view mirrors have changed positions while I was driving my car [ch]! 1 time in reverse the rear view mirrors folded up with no view [hc]! 5. After 1-8-2015, I have received several messages from my virgin mobil cell phone saying "connection requested by azara" [ch]! 6. I discovered my 24/7 outside lights setting ¿ had the outside lights turned off while being in the on position [ch]! the 24/7 lights - setting is to automatically keep the lights on in the day & later change to night lights automatically. 7. The outside driver side door unlock handle button does not consistently work for the other 3 doors [ch]. 8. My cruise control stopped working on **3-27-15 (1 pm) [ch] (3 times). 9. On **3-27-15 (1 pm) my rear brake lights were on & would not turn off. They were on for hours! at home, later that day they turned off, then on, then off, then on for hours [ch]! they were on all night! 10. On 9-4-15, the program inside my hma remote was hacked ($325 repair cost) & it would not set my continuous panic button alarm. 11. On 10-5-2015, while driving, I started the gps direction guidance only to hear the gps guidance volume hacked to the extreme highest level (several times)!.

Electronic Stability Control problem #7

Started car after sitting in parking lot for 8 hours and the traction control warning light stayed on. Tried restarting the car several times but the warning would not clear. Drove car home less than 10 miles with both steering and acceleration considerably affected. The car pulled hard to the right then the left while driving on the highway and was difficult to keep in lane. Acceleration felt like the brakes were being applied which made the car very sluggish to drive. Parked the car at home overnight and the warning cleared itself the next day. Took the car straight in to the dealership who claimed they could find any codes pertaining to the problem and was told to bring the car back if it happens again.

Electronic Stability Control problem #8

Brakes were loose took to shop told it was master cylinder, went through three master cylinders then the abs, brake warning lights came on the dash panel, lost cruise control. Took to dealer and they said not covered by any recall. It is a question whether the brakes will stop the car in time since we need to go almost to the floor to stop. Dealer said $4,000+ to get it fixed, and it is okay to drive as it is. Who is responsible if a life is lost or property damage occurs? shouldn't a part as significant as the abs module be warranted or relaced?.

Electronic Stability Control problem #9

While driving on us 95 at night my engine stopped runing. I was traving at 65 mph. At the time. The car was towed and later inspected. The inspection revealed that alternator had failed because oil had leaked from the valve cover gaskets directly onto the alternator which caused it to fail. This failure also affected the power steering & my lights as well . I was fortunate that my car was not struck as the traffic was heavy. .

Electronic Stability Control problem #10

- while driving, suddenly abs indicator, esc off indicator and "abs system failure" message on dashboard showed up and had to make emergency stop since all of these scared me. . Also scared me that vehicle's abs and stability control stop working. . . - after started driving slowly - some noise from front wheels were coming. . Went to dealer and told us that issue with "wheel speed sensor" and "tone wheel" damaged. . Why these sensors are exposed to road and damaged suddenly that make safety issue during driving and may have caused accident. . .

Electronic Stability Control problem #11

Bought my Hyundai in for problems with my car and was told all my complaints were the way the car was built and nothing could be done about it. . . First my trunk doesn't open all the way answer because there is no motor built into the trunk for it to open on that model car. Second when rear window is open it sounds like the car is going to fall apart very loudly and noisily but that is normal for the way it is built. . Suggested by serviceman either open front window so the noise should lesson, but did not, then keep rear windows closed at all times. Using to much gas they tested it and state it clocks in at 33 mpg. Yet everywhere online it stated it gets 29 mpg at the most, so how is it getting 33? 33 mpg my car doesn't even get 29 mpg are you kidding me 33 mpg is way the salesman told me it was but never was. . . Unless you are loaded with money don't buy this gas guzzler!!!! or this load vehicle unless u keep the windows closed!!.

Electronic Stability Control problem #12

Brake pedal was harder to push down on. The service engine light indicator lit. Took it to the nearest Hyundai repair center but they refused to look into it as I did not have "an appointment" and was asked to make an appointment and come back. Took it to a nearby repair station (pepboys) who read the error as a faulty brake a/b switch but could not rectify it as they did not have parts. Took it to another repair center. They replaced the switch and advised on the recall. Called Hyundai customer service but they refused to reimburse on the claim as the exact VIN number was not part of the recall even though they acknowledged that the 2007 Azera had this problem.

Electronic Stability Control problem #13

I purchased a 2009 Hyundai Azera last year from fuccillo Chevrolet in grand island, new york. The car was new and still on the lot after 2 years but I was assured that there was nothing wrong it and I have been pleased with the vehicle up until now. However, yesterday while driving home from work, the car went into an emergency slow-down mode and both the ecs off and check engine light went on. This happened on the thruway while I was driving in heavy traffic which was harrowing. Fortunately, I was able to 'limp' off the highway and get to a side street. I called my husband and the emergency roadside assistance and my vehicle has now been taken to northtown Hyundai in amherst, NY. My husband researched the slow-down/ecs issue on the internet and found that there have been numerous cases of this happening due to a defective throttle control device in many of the Hyundai and kia models. In fact, a woman at the service counter who had a 2007 Azera had the exact same issue with her car! needless to say, this should be a recall issue and that is the reason why I am writing. It seems that this throttle control issue is fairly common with these vehicles and it is also potentially dangerous. Please make them initiate a recall.

Electronic Stability Control problem #14

While driving the car at various speeds the esc light will come on and the dash will read "esc off" and the car will not function;looses all power. No steering control, no radio, no lights, no brakes, the car looses all functioning ability. I have to pull off the road, turn the switch off, wait 5 to 10 minutes and then the car will start and run until it happens again. No pattern to this problem. This car has had multiple electrical problems since we purchased it in 2008. Harmonic balancer replaced, start sensor replaced, cam sensor replaced, the shifter will not work without pushing in the safety release, and the lights cut on/off all the time. Very unsafe and unreliable vehicle.

Electronic Stability Control problem #15

When I started the vehicle when it was cold or when it had less than a half a tank in gas the check engine light and esc light would come on. I wouldn't be able to drive the vehicle. It was as if the vehicle was in neutral. I would push the gas pedal and nothing, it would not rev. This has now happened on several occasions. I would have to continue to turn off and on the vehicle until the esc light would turn off and the car would rev on it own.

Electronic Stability Control problem #16

A steering failure occurred at about 50 mph while entering a gentle curve to the left. It caused the car to veer to the left. Car left the travel lane and briefly entered the smoothly paved and level shoulder of the divided roadway. Correction to the right triggered esc system. At that point the driver input to steering and brakes were overridden by the esc system. Esc sent car straight ahead but we were on a curve. This sent the car into the guard rail on the right side of the road after crossing both lanes because the car would not respond to steering wheel forces or to brakes. The car lightly grazed the guard rail causing a shallow dent in the rear fender. Body damage was limited to the rear fender in this case and the airbags did not deploy. Why not? this is, however, a deadly type of failure because the car sends you wherever it wants to go and you cannot do anything about it. We could have been sent into oncoming traffic or over the side of a cliff. As the car finally slowed, the esc system eventually shut itself off and we could, once again, steer the car. But, this was way too late to prevent the damage. The car did not fail in a fail-safe manner. This event was triggered by a sudden mechanical failure in the steering system as evidenced by very badly misaligned front wheels and steering angle errors in the computer system. Tires do not show unusual wear from the misalignment because it happened suddenly at the time of the incident. A Hyundai field service engineer inspected the car. Hyundai will not tell us what failed so we do not know root cause. In fact, Hyundai denies there was a steering failure. Car is not safe to drive.

Electronic Stability Control problem #17

Immediately after having the dashboard cover replaced due to defect in cover, the esc/abs system began engaging at approx 28 mph on right hand curves. System was trying to apply brake to one of the rear wheels. Pavement was warm and dry and the car was not in a skid situation. Dealer and Hyundai corporate engineers have tried to find cause and correct but have not been able to succesfully fix the problem. This has been ongoing for about a year now. I have concerns that the esc/abs system(s) may not function properly when needed in slippery-road conditions.

Electronic Stability Control problem #18

Case number 3180238. I'm done with the car but I don't want to trade a vehicle which might cause and accident and get someone hurt or worse.
