While idling at a red light, car stalled out. Started right back up. Then got onto parkway and traveled about 5 minutes on the parkway and slowed a bit to exit onto the ramp, then accelerated to about 40-45 to continue and stalled while driving at that speed. We slowed and pulled over, stopped the car and restarted the car without a problem. It was a very hot day and we had the radio and air conditioning on. We took the car into Hyundai to check and they couldn't find what caused the problem. They said when the radio and a/c are being used, turn off the "eco" setting off. (a CO-worker mentioned that it sounds as if there wasn't enough fuel being injected to keep the car going. ).
I took my car for an alignment at the harrisonburg, va dealership. After the alignment was done, I was told alignment was unsuccessful because the left caster and right front camber were out of specs. Our -less than a year old- tires were worn out badly from the inside and needed to be replaced tight away (an accident waiting to happen!) moreover, we were told by the dealership that the problem cannot be adjusted or fixed and that we need to seek help at a body shop. Our car has always been driven on regular roads, has not had any accidents or major shock that would necessitate a body shop. It was purchased brand new on 2007. This seems like an issue with the car itself since the beginning. We are now told that we need to purchase new tires and come in for a rotation every 4,000 miles. Below is the message from Hyundai USA: thank you for contacting Hyundai motor America. We are sorry to learn of the issue that you are having with the alignment in your 2007 Hyundai Azera. The alignment in your Azera is covered under the new vehicle limited warranty for a period of one year from the date of first use (in-service date) or 12,000 miles, whichever occurs first. Your Azera has exceeded the warranty by both time and mileage. For this reason, we are unable to assist you with the needed repair costs and apologize for any disappointment this may cause you. We have confirmed with harrisonburg Hyundai that the left front caster on your Azera is out of factory specifications. Additionally, there is not an available adjustment available through your dealership, which is why a body shop was recommended. We suggest following your dealership's advice to repair your Azera. Our factory-trained technicians are the most qualified to provide you with their expert advice. They will work with you to ensure your Azera continues to operate to our specifications for many miles to come.
Several weeks ago I took my car to the Hyundai dealer's service department for warranty work. Over the last few months, while parked and unattended, the back of the driver's seat, on its own, readjusted itself all the way forward. This happened almost daily. The dealer said everything looked ok and they could not determine a cause. On 9/12/11 I sat in the driver's seat as I was perparing to leave work, and the seat back readjusted itself with me in it (car had not yet been started). It pushed me forward and up against the steering wheel. I was unable to stop the movement or readjust the back until the seat back completed its trek all the way forward. After the first time, I readjusted the seat and started driving on the bwi parkway at 55 mph when the seat back did it again, and again, and again. I headed straight for the dealer and during the 15 +/- miles to the dealer, I was compressed against the steering wheel about 20 more times. I am 6 feet tall and have long legs, and during the times I was driving and compressed against the steering wheel, it was extremely difficult to move my foot from the accelerator to the brake. As a result, as soon as I would feel the seat start to move forward, I had to pull over to the shoulder of the parkway until the seat stopped and I could readjust the back. Thankfully, this time when I arrived at the service department, the seat compressed the service attendant while he was sitting in my car, so he could see that there is a problem! several months ago when I first noticed the back readjusting on its own, I googled the problem and discovered that this issue with Azeras has been ongoing for quite some time. I hope that it will not take someone getting seriously hurt or killed before something is done to make huyndi acknowledge the problem. They think it is a switch. . . . We will see!.
2007 Hyundai Azera dashboard is cracking in two places right above the passenger air bag. Hyundai and dealer will not fix the problem because I have 77,000 miles and its out of warranty. Not sure how this will effect the air bag in my 2007 Azera. If you go to new Hyundai Azera owners experiences car forum edmunds. Com you will find many more like myself.
This is a new car and the incidents have been present from the beginning. On numerous occasions at slow speed or when moving from being stopped, or in stop and go traffic, the car will not respond when the gas pedal is depressed. The sensation is that the car has stalled. After a moment, or several seconds, the car will surge forward, sometimes causing the tires to screech. I immediately apply the brakes to bring the car under control and the car will proceed without further evidence of a problem. In stop and go traffic this event may occur with successive stops. The event may occur 6-8 times during a local trip, or it may be several days without an event. I am unable to predict it occurring and unable to cause it to happen. I consider the car to be unsafe both because it may result in a collision with a car in front of me but also it has left me stranded in the middle of an intersection, or road, not knowing when my car will move. On several occasions the driver behind me has blown his horn as I wait for my car to move. The car has been returned to the dealer and driven by service personnel and a regional representative of the manufacturer on four separate occasions without incident. I am told there is no record of this event having occurred with this model car and there was no suggested solution. There was a comment that it may be a transmission problem. Their conclusion is that there is nothing to be done if they cannot produce the event.
