Two problems related to accelerator pedal have been reported for the 1997 Hyundai Elantra. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
When accelerating and letting off gas pedal, and getting back on gas pedal engine idles up really high, and vehcle bucks forward like slamming on brakes, but footas not on brakes. Please provide any further information.
Had pushed accelerator pedal for pick up (speed), according to manual. The accelerator pedal went to the floor. The vehicle did not have any pick up (speed). Took to dealer & informed it was a transmission problem & it does not shift properly at all.
