One problem related to tank filler pipe and cap has been reported for the 1998 Hyundai Elantra. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Gas shoots out of the GS tank filler inlet when filling the tank. The gas pump auto shutoff activates when the tank is filled, however gas spills out of the tank forcefully. Dealer possessed a service bulletin not found in the NHTSA files.
