Recall # 03v257000, 09v125000, 03v496000 severe rusting and corrosion under my car which they claim was "fixed" under the recalls. They did not fix this! the front driver side axle is completely corroded and breaking - they claim they sprayed it with anti corrosion compound but this did not stop further corrosion and rust. The brakelines were also sprayed but this also did not work! my brakeline rusted out and all my brake fluid went out while driving. Hyundai is now refusing to correct the problem which by federal law has to be done!.
Tl- the contact owns a 2003 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated while driving 30 mph, he depressed his service brakes to the floor, however, they failed. Another vehicle crashed into front passenger side, the vehicle spun around several times however only passenger side curtain air bags deployed. The contact was taken from the accident by ambulance to a nearby hospital. The contact was treated for neck and lower back pain. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer and dealer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 151,000. Az.
I purchased my 2003 Elantra in October 2003, since then have needed the rear brakes replaced twice, mechanic cannot explain why the rear brakes go so quickly.
While driving 55 mph driver applied brakes and pedal went to the floor. Vehicle skidded into a parked vehicle. Both airbags did not deploy. The vehicle was towed.
While driving at 35 mph, the consumer suddenly slammed on the brake pedal, but they failed to stop the vehicle, resulting in a rear end collision. Prior to this incident the brake squeaked. The consumer feels that something should be done about her damaged vehicle.
Defective windshield-2003 Hyundai Elantra GLS. There was a terrible glare from the sun hitting the windshield which made it extremely hard to judge the distance of objects. The dealer was notified and stated that the glare was a characteristic of the car. The vehicle experienced brake noise. The dealer did some work on the car but is was still noisy. The defroster took 15-20 minutes to clear the windows and heated mirrors. When it rained the water was on the inside the vehicle on the underside of the car door.
While driving at 50 mph and brake pedal was depressed it went to the floor and hesitated to engage. This also occurred while parking, and vehicle ran into a building.
