36 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2004

While driving air bag sensor worked intermittently with someone sitting in the seat. Consume contacted the dealer several times. Dealer stated that it was the cover that was on the seat. And then said it was the way the consumer was sitting. However the problem recurred.

37 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 01/06/2004

The passenger side air bag disabled light goes on and off while driving with adults of minimum of 100 pounds sitting in the seat. The dealer said that there is nothing wrong.

38 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 04/10/2003

Passenger side occupant sensor light for passenger side airbag reapeatedly goes on and off when a 122 lb. Full grown adult female is sitting properly in the seat. Unfortunately, the dealer says they've done what they can, and that their hyndai corporate contacts have done what they can. Seat and sensor system replaced twice, to no avail. I belive this to be a safety issue if the car has a severe frontal impact and the passenger side airbag doesn't deploy!.

39 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

The air bag off light illuminated when there was a passenger in the seat. The seat sensors was replaced, however it did not resolve the problem. The consumer gave the first Elantra back to the dealer and was given a replacement same model and year, but the problem existed in that cart as well.
