The contact owns a 2006 Hyundai Elantra. While driving approximately 25 mph, the brakes were applied but the vehicle would not stop. The vehicle rolled to a stop and was pulled over. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where the contact was informed that the master cylinder failed. The vehicle was then taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was informed that the master cylinder failed due to a manufacturing defect. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 67,800 and the current mileage was 68,000. The VIN was unavailable.

2 Brake Master Cylinder problem

Failure Date: 01/06/2007

- on 01/05/07 the contact took the vehicle to dealer in danville, virginia because the brake pedal was getting stuck on the floor , and the dealer replaced the master cylinder. The contact stated that on 01/06/07 while driving 35-40 mph h applied the brakes, but the vehicle continued to accelerate, causing the vehicle to crash into a tree. The contact could provide pictures of the vehicle , as well as an accident report.
