This dealership refuses to work on recalls on weekends, even though they are open for repairs on saturdays. They are prioritizing paying customers. This is the second recall I've had this issue with them. Tasca central Ave Hyundai 111 south central avenue, hartsdale NY 10530.
The traction contril indicator is always light is always showing up on the dashboard at the night time till morning since a couple of months so far.
Unknown.
The positive battery terminal melted from an electrical issue and cannot be fixed due to the model and year of my car. The whole car has fully died and is not functional. My car is available for inspection. The car has only been inspected by a mechanic. The car would have trouble starting and staying on for the last 2 months or so and right before it died it was showing the steering wheel light for 2 days and then all the lights were blinking.
So theirs issues with window ,shaking while in red light, tick sound, was a banging under the hood sound like metal, also an electric sound not sure how to describe it.

My car is only at 46000 miles. Sincei'm purchase from dealer it has given me the same issues of rpms shooting up &speedometer going out of control the car wont go past 20mph & jerks back & forth, tyrning off while driving & has had a b"bad" drive since purchase. I dont know the issue and its never been fixed by dealer even though I took it in a few times for these issues. It now foing it again. My life is in danger with this care since purchase & Hyundai shouldve replaced my car or engine but they do not care. This car is a lemon. And now the car can go on fire parked or driving? what can be done. . On the nextvpart of complaint im putting down ladt week sice this is the newest incident of the desc.
The piston rings do not seal leading to increased oil consumption and very low oil. My safety was put at risk because when I pulled out into traffic that was going at a high speed I could not accelerate. There was no warning or indication that this was going on prior to this incident. Yes this has been confirmed by a Hyundai dealership and the component was inspected. There was no warning sign before this incident.
Anti-lock brake system ("abs") module remains a threat to my life. Hyundai should be required to fix this in a timely manner.
The manufacturer taking unreasonable long time to fix the recall, its urgent recall thats limiting usage of the vehicle. High risk recall associated with vehicle catching fire.
The brake light switch plunger does not retract as it should when the brake pedal is not being pressed, the brake lights stay illuminated preventing accurate communication to following vehicles that the vehicle is slowing or stopping. The brake switch plunger is not retracted, which caused the transmission to be shifted out of park without depressing the brake pedal. This condition increases the risk of a crash. Hyundai is recalled certain 2013-2014 Elantra sedan, coupe and gt vehicles. Hyundai's number for this recall is 170. This campaign expands recall 16v574. The issue here is my vehicle/VIN didn't qualify for this recall because it was made a few months after a specific manufacturing date, although it is a 2014 Elantra. Hyundai announced this recall over 3 years after the manufacturing date so I was confused as to why my vehicle didn't qualify to be repaired by the dealer.
A safety recall has been issued since September 2023 and still no remedy. The car should not be driven because it could catch fire. There is no time frame for the remedy. What am I suppose to do about transportation now it’s been 6mos I’ve had to borrow a vehicle.
The sunglasses console for the 2014 Hyundai Elantra is not closing anymore. The latch has deteriorated and it will continue to keep opening if you try to shut it close no matter what you do. This is a hazard because it blocks the rearview mirror which in turn can block your view of the car behind you if you are trying to switch lanes, watch out for emergency vehicles, or even pedestrians. I literally have to use tape to keep it closed till it can be fixed.
Car started to shut down with no warning about a month ago. Took it to neighborhood garage and they couldn't figure it out . They called a Hyundai service department and they said they have seen the problem and it is a cr-sensor. They (Hyundai service dept) sent the part to my garage and they made the repair. Car worked fine until a few days ago when it shut down again with no warning. This can be a serious safety issue if driving on a highway at highway speeds when it shuts down. However it does start up right after the engine stops .
I noticed a rattling noise while accelerating in second and third gear under my car in the spring. I took it in to a repair shop and they resecured an under tray but otherwise did not seem concerned. The rattling noise continued. After driving on a longer trip on the highway recently the rattling became more frequent and intense, causing the whole car to shake. I also had difficulty accelerating above about 50 mph. I took my car in to a different shop the following day. They discovered that there was a misfire occurring in cylinder 3, causing buildup in the exhaust system (the rattling that I noticed) and which caused the catalytic converter to go bad, which I had to pay to replace. Throughout this entire time, my check engine light never came on, although it illuminated normally when turning on the car. The lack of a warning via check engine light when the misfire began occurring caused the converter to go bad, resulting in a very costly repair for me.
I own a 2014 Hyundai Elantra. When the accelerator pedal is engaged, the vehicle hesitates and only accelerates to about 20 mph. The vehicle also stalls while at a complete stop and while driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed multiple times, but a failure code could not be found. The mechanic cleaned all the sensors; however, the failure was not corrected. The mechanic stated that the throttle body was causing the vehicle not to accelerate and stall while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for the recall and the vehicle was not repaired.
I financed my 2014 Elantra a few months ago in September and this engine is failing.
The contact owns a 2014 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated while driving approximately 35-40 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed however, the vehicle hesitated to respond. The contact stated that the vehicle then inadvertently stalled. The check engine and oil warning lights were illuminated. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was pushed to the side of the road with assistance. The contact stated that the battery was jumped but the vehicle would not start. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The contact became aware of an unknown recall for rod bearings failure and the vehicle was towed to the dealer for the recall repair; however, upon inspecting the vehicle, the dealer informed the contact that her vehicle did not need the recall repair as the rod bearings had not completely failed. The contact also stated that oil was leaking underneath the vehicle onto the ground and the steering wheel was shaking while driving. The dealer diagnosed that the valve, the alternator, and the head gasket needed to be replaced. The alternator was replaced; however, the vehicle was not completely repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The manufacturer also referred the contact to NHTSA. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000.
I got a tune up on my car then discovered that the misfire in my engine coils is a manufacturer defect. This needs to be fixed as soon as possible. Some times when I crank my car the engine will try to start but makes a constant sputter and then I cut it off I have to let it sit for an hour and then try to crank it again to seee if it will start. My battery, starter, and alternator are good.
Brake pedal stop pad broke, pieces found on the floor board. Traction on the 2014 Hyundai Elantra was turned on and made the car difficult to brake and stop. Brake lights stayed on completely almost causing an accident. Parts are not sold in part store for replacing.
Hyndai dealership has refused on multiple occasion's to perform the recall at a time that is at all possible. I gave them many oppertunities to fix their mistake at times I can bring the car to them and ghey are refusing. They have even reused everyday until sept 30. And any weekend after that or after 7 pm.
I bought this car in 2017. The dealer passed it for state inspection, after. A day noticed a rumble in front end. Brought to dealer, was told brake rotors were warped. They replaced rotors. Problem solved. Two years later went for state inspection and rotors and brake pads are worn out. This would indicate an over heating of brakes. Hot breaks will cause loss of brakes or take longer to stop. This would also explain other complaints about brakes, and why it can't be duplicated when tested by mechanics they don't drive it long enough.
Sunglass holder continuously pops open for no reason and blocks my view in my rearview mirror while driving. Has happened since I bought it in 2019. They had tape on it when I bought it so I'm assuming this has been a problem for a l9ng time.
For about a month my car wouldn't start except after a few tries it then started. I thought it was due to the weather, but I later learned it wasnt. I had spark plugs changed lines flushed and battery checked at the Hyundai dealership. It won't start at all.
For a couple of months now my car randomly won't start. After a few tries it finally does. I thought it might be just on colder days but it happens randomly. I changed the battery as per the suggestion of the dealer and it still randomly won't start.
Driving down freeway and car stopped running and within a minute caught fire and burnt. My son got over to shoulder and got put and away from car safely. The car is 100 percent destroyed. I had read today the hyundias have been having some fire issues so thought I would report this incident.
Went to shut car off and key is stuck in ignition. I have to use my other swt of keys to lock doors for safety. . . Car not being stolen. No one can fugure out what to do. I don't have the money to take it to this place and that place or the time. I went to the internet and it seems to be a common problem. It seems like it should be on tge manufacturer to my it right. Really my car is only a 2014 I shouldn't have to be dealing with this issue.
My car is only 6 years old and it eats oil . My daughter in betweennoil changes had to put 2 quarts in the car. We use synthetic oil . This has been happening for some time now till I told my family and they mentioned Hyundai had a recall. I dont see one for my car but there obviously is an issue.
The key gets stuck in the ignition and won't turn off to allow you to pull the key out. The only way to pull out the key is to disconnect the battery.
Hyundai Elantra 2014 rolls back in park mode.
I have noticed that the sound coming from the engine is delayed kinda, almost like its not getting enough air at the right time . My car will have a hard time accelerating and it will hit high rmps then shift. I have to just slow down before the shift cause sometimes it scares me. I hear a ticking sound sometime but that could be music. My breaks are really touchy and sometime seem to have no traction when I need it most. All these things happen when I am driving. When I am trying to accelerate or break I can fill some kind of pull from behind the car.
Car intermittently will not start without warning, park running fine, get back in and it will not start, has happened 5 times, took to dealer under warranty and they cannot get it to replicate . . No error code. . . They just scratch their head and say sorry we don't know what to do. . . Tell that to my wife when she is stranded.
Car randomly comes to a complete stop while driving it at low speeds. All lights come on and vehicle does not move. I turned vehicle off and vehicles starts back up again. Occurred multiple times in several days. Hyundai told me they cannot diagnose the issue unless it replicates while in their possession.
08-26-16 while pulling into a parking space at a public park while doing less than 5 miles per hour, I experienced rapid unintended acceleration, plowed through a fence, sideswiped a tree, went off a grassy median back up onto a grassy median and then bounced off of that before the car finally came to rest. My brakes did not work and I had no control over the vehicle. It is a miracle that I am not dead as the park is on a very busy 4 lane road and is usually full of children.
I purchased a pre-owned 2014 Hyundai Elantra gt on April 22, 2016. While driving home from the car dealer I heard a very loud noise, it sounded like a gun shot. I looked up and noticed that the panoramic sun roof had completely shattered and I quickly exited at the nearest high way exit. I was traveling 60 m. P. H on a straight away on highway 80 near vacaville, CA. The sunroof glass was closed but the interior screen was open. It had been raining earlier that day but it was clear and sunny at the time the sunroof exploded. I had only had the car for 3 hours in my possession when this happened.
