Abs and traction control lights on as well as e brake light this is all after I had recall work that was supposed to fix this problem but only made it worse I am dealing with Hyundai but I don’t see a solution for this problem my car is inoperable and very unsafe it is my main source of transportation to and from my place of work and without this vehicle I am at a great loss I have lost brakes completely at times and am mentally and physically unable to drive this car it’s that bad financially strapped from sinking money into this problem only to find there’s a recall but the recall work didn’t fix the problem and Hyundai knows it won’t fix the problem.
Due to cdk global cyberattack, I cannot complete my safety recall of my Hyundai Elantra 2015 (abs fuse that can cause engine to explode, according to Hyundai safety recall report). Hyundai does not allow dealerships to keep safety recall parts on hand (or a very small amount). I have to walk into the dealership to order the part. I cannot call to order the part. I have to constantly drive to place of work, home, sit in traffic, with a defective fuse that Hyundaiusa refuses to keep safety recall parts on hand. Please create a national policy against manufacturers to have a minimum units (1000 units of fuses, parts, etc) as the safety recall occurs. Because dealerships cannot order parts due to this cyberattack. My mental anguish of driving a vehicle that cannot have a safety recall repaired due to parts not being able to order (especially if they can keep large amounts of units on hand at dealers), is through the roof! I cannot take time off, I have to drive to not be evicted, anything repossessed, etc. And where I live has limited transportation options, (and told to use ride share like lyft or uber). Insurance companies is unhelpful. If manufacturers say they cannot keep parts on hand, then how do they ship the parts so quickly, under normal operations? 3rd party mechanic shops cannot order these parts as the manufacturer has to complete the recall repair.
Within three months of purchasing this vehicle, I started having engine light and oil consumption issues. Within the 4 years of owning, they've replaced the catalytic converter twice, many valves, and others. I had to purchase and add multiple quarts of oil to just maintain oil levels. I've had multiple occasions where my vehicle slowed to only up to 55 miles an hour while on the interstate. The vehicle had issues accelerating where an accident almost occurred because pulling into a shopping plaza, the vehicle couldn't drive up a minor hill and almost remained in the intersection. I've had multiple times where I was stuck on the side of the road in different environments, a few of which I was genuinely worried for my safety. This last incident I did not feel safe to drive where I needed to go so I got off the interstate to travel down a local road where the vehicle stalled in the middle of a 5 lane (one direction) busy road. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealership and warranty representatives. The engine and oil lights were the main issues, every time a light came on I reached out to the dealership to get it looked at. I received notice of many engines being recalled and repaired in 2022 yet Hyundai has only put bandaids on my engine.
Reporting my previous VIN in case it helps the new vehicle owner since I am sure they are facing similar defects that I am with my "brand new 2016 Hyundai Elantra". I previously owned a brand new 2015 Hyundai Elantra and had to file a claim after flooding occurred in kyle, texas. The 2015 Elantra title was transferred to usaa after filing a claim for total loss due to engine flooding on October 30, 2015. Odometer reading on date of total loss is 7,673 miles. Vehicle appears to be sold again with same odometer reading January 2016. Both of my Hyundai Elantra's were purchased at ron carter Hyundai dealership in texas (dealer number p113588). This dealership is now called big star Hyundai after dcg acquisitions represented the sale in 2021 - just in time to deny and delay warranty covered defects to consumers who thought they purchased a brand new car. Hope this helps the current vehicle owner in case they are also over spending on dealership recommended "repairs" for their lemon.
The car was working fine. Then one day it wouldn’t turn on while we were out. The engine wouldn’t start and it smelt burnt and there was smoke. We had to jumpstart the car and it showed some codes. They were b1319 and b1111. We took it to an electrician and it showed there was was a fuse that’s being overpowered. The car had been working again, but I did get a smell of something burnt a few times from inside the car. A few weeks passed by and three days ago the car again wouldn’t turn on. Just yesterday I found out about the recall from September on the Hyundai Elantra 2015. Not sure if it has something to do with that, but I still haven’t received a recall although that’s the car model I have.
Light smoke, from abs module leak recognized as recall, yet manufacturer is not initiating any fix.

The contact owns a 2015 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds and making right and left turns the vehicle would randomly shut off. After restarting the engine the vehicle would drive as normal. Eventually the failure began to also occur while driving straight. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 54,000.
At any given time without warning the car dies. There is a red light that is sometimes visible on the dash but flashes too quickly and tell which light it may be (due to location of light owner’s manual showing possible oil light/battery). The car has had regular scheduled maintenance. This happens when driving in everyday traffic and sometimes when going from stopped to accelerating. This happens when going in reverse or ahead. I have almost been in several different accidents due to it dying in the middle of intersections. Code reader has not been able to locate the problem because there’s no indication of a problem on the check engine light. This is a very serious problem that needs to be taken seriously before it gets someone badly injured or killed.
The headlights randomly turn off or switch between high and low beams. This is dangerous especially at night because high beams can impair another driver's vision or having the lights turn off completely makes me unseen on the road. My car is available for inspection upon request. When I have gone online, I have seen other Hyundai customers have experienced the same thing.
Brake lights stay on constantly - even when vehicle is off. If driver is unaware of their brake lights being stuck in an on position can cause an accident very easily.
Car stutteres than stalls especially near time of oil change , oil light flashes when going moderate to low speeds and than it stutters and the engine cuts and the engine light , oil light and battery light come on if engine not started right away the power brakes and steering also die making it a dangerous situation especially on a highway happened many times between 2020-2022 but it has been getting worse happening 4 times just today 4/21/2022 engine type nu 1. 8l car make and model:2015 Hyundai Elantra limited.
When my turning light signal light comes on it I'm thinking it time to change the light I did that and the light stays on. Now I realize this the same problem I had last year with my car and they said it's a electrical problem now it's doing it again. Now both of my turning signal light are not working when the lights are on. But once the lights go off the turning signal works again.
I just need check car abs oil.
Electric problem : when car cools off ,sits in hard rain for numerous hours or overnight ,there is a problem after restarting. Neither the headlights nor windshield wipers or air blower works until the car is fully warmed up and driven for about half an hour all are ongoing. Suspension problem : a while back there was a recall about a front spring , no details, including 2015 Hyundai Elantra's when the car sits overnight, is started, it will emit a creaking / rattling sound from the front , traveling over a series of bumps , then disappears .
I was on the way to take my daughter to her sister's house, and the vehicle stalled while we were stopped because of traffic on the freeway. So, I had to put it in park or neutral, and turnover the car once I turned it off for a moment.
I was returning home this afternoon and my wife's Hyundai Elantra was parked in the driveway with the brake lights lit. I figured my wife had left her lights on and looked in the car to see they were off. I started the car and pressed the brake a few times but the lights remained on so I thought the switch had gone bad. My wife watched as I pressed the brake pedal switch manually and the switch worked but the pedal did not come far enough back to depress the switch and I saw online that a pad was supposed to be present but was missing. I found recalls for the past few years mentioning an issue with pad deterioration and figure this is something that might be happening to this model as well.
I began my lease on my Elantra in sept of 2014. At my year anniversary I had it serviced by the dealer of the lease and was given a clean bill of car health. However, on several occasions the car had, as I called it, "a mind of its own" meaning that while I was driving, usually somewhere around 40-55 mph without me pushing down on the gas pedal the car would accelerate on its own. It would stop as soon as I completely let off the gas pedal but it happened enough to be considered strange. I was planning to ask the dealer about it at my next oil change. Not necessary now! Sunday afternoon 10/18/15, I went to start the car and it sputtered and stalled out. I turned the key in the ignition again and it repeated. After the 3rd time and giving it some gas the car started and ran ok. I had 3 stops that I made, each time the car was turned off and back on with no issue. I returned home and not even 5 minutes after the car was parked and shut off, there were flames shooting out between the hood and windshield. I hit the fire emergency on my house alarm system to signal for the fire dept and then ran outside with my husband and 2 fire extinguishers, emptying one and having zero effect on the fire. My husband then turned the hose on and was trying to contain the fire with the hose water. In the 10 minutes it took for the fire dept to get there, the entire front end was literally a shell of remaining metal and dripping melted plastic. The entire windsheild exploded from the heat of the fire and was inside the car. Insurance inspector says the source came from behind the battery - which he said was either the electric or computer panel. Either way. . It was a scary situation. 10 minutes is not a very long time to have the entire front end disintegrate from fire.
I purchased a 2015 Hyundai Elantra on November 26th, 2014. The car was brand new when I purchased it. On December 23rd I noticed that my break lights would not turn off after having parked and removed the key. I was unable to get the light to turn off, but I had a trip scheduled to visit family during the holidays. I was forced to leave the car at my house in its present state. When I reached my destination on December 24th I called Hyundai (lithia springs) to tell them about the issues and to ask them how they wanted to handle this issue. The service representative told me to bring the car in on January 3rd. When I returned to georgia I brought the car to Hyundai. While driving the vehicle I could smell a strong odor reminiscent of spoiled milk. When I arrived at the dealership they examined the car and initally told me that the issue was with the break clutch not depressing properly. After the technician replaced this part he returned to tell methat he was unable to correct the issue and that he suspected it to be an electrical issue. He requested that I leave the car with him so that it could be worked on and placed me in a loaner vehicle. I received a call today (January 6th, 2015) and was told that the issue had been isolated and that the car was not sealed properly and water had caused the electrical issues I was having. Mr. Donald lampkin told me that the car would need to have the windshield removed, carpet removed, dried, and resealed. I expressed my concern with this and let him know that I wanted the car replaced immediately, to which he did not reply. He told me that Hyundai manufacturing would most likely not replace my brand new vehicle and that all he could do was try to fix the issues. I am truly unhappy and want my money back or a brand new car. I havent even driven this car 1,000 miles and not only am I without a car.
