general problems of the 2016 Hyundai Elantra

I was driving normally down the road and all of a sudden I lost control and couldn’t turn my vehicle apparently the control arm rusted from the subframe, causing me to swerve hit a curb and cause more damage to the front end. Thank god I was on a not so busy street! I could have killed myself or someone else all because this company’s metal rusted out.

As I was driving all of a sudden my power steering light and traction control light would pop on my car and my wheel would lock up on my making it extremely difficult to navigate. Would happen randomly at different speeds and scenarios. Once turned on when I was getting on the delaware memorial bridge, another time on a highway, and happened while I was turning. Brought it 4 times to a dealership and the techs have done nothing to actively fix the problems. It’s very upsetting bc I take pictures of it because I feel like nobody believes me and I feel unsafe driving this car.

I was driving down the interstate when my car completely locked up, my brakes stopped working, the steering wheel wouldn't turn, the car completely shut down, so I had to make my way off the bisy interstate luckily I didn't have an accident so I took it to a mechanic and found out the alternator went out, so it was replaced then less than a year later I had issues with the headlights not working then magically comong on while driving, and the interior lighta will work then bot work but the bulbs are new, leading to another replacement alternator, then less than about 8 months pass and I have issues with the electrical stuff again not wanting to work even when new bulbs are pit in the car, the radio turning on and off by itself and I've had to put it a third alternator in less than 3 years, it's a driving hazard and safety hazard. My driver side door handle will only open from the inside and it doesn't shut inkess the door is locked and the car has to be turned on. The belt in my 2016 Hyundai elanyra looks like it's shredding and it's throwing black stuff on the inside of my hood. I've had preoffwsional mechanics look at it and the alternator is assembled correctly, and now my ball joints are all of a sudden needing to be replaced inthe front.

On the driver side of my car the front axle shakes really bad can I keep it in the road.

Front headlights need replacing one monthly. Had it repaired at the dealership while still under factory warranty. I was told it was a wiring issue but several months after the problem still persists. The front highbeams and daylights have been replaced for going out (no longer working) 12 times in 2 years.

I was exiting the expressway on my way to work. On the turn my steering wheel locked up and I ended up half way on top of the sidewalk and half on the street. Almost killed myself. When the car jumped the sidewalk, the axle broke leaving each of the front wheels facing the opposite direction, the transmission was punctured. The car was towed to the Hyundai dealer. Apparently an investigation was going to be conducted because it was a safety issue. I received notification yesterday that the investigation was complete and nothing was wrong with the steering. How convenient! easy way to get out of the problem even after sending me a packet asking what I would like to "resolve this issue". Apparently, I was not the only one with this serious problem. I have no car but still making lease payments. They didn't even offer a complimentary rental, out of sheer courtesy, during the entire time. Would never purchase Hyundai again. This should really be looked at seriously before somebody gets killed.

Shaft and steering kopler broken. . No one else can fix it but the dealer. Multiple complains online.

While I was driving down the road yesterday, the steering pulled to the right very abruptly and 2 lights came on, on the dash. At that point the steering was very difficult to turn. Then I am told it's not covered under warrenty. I know in researching this issue that they have had this problem in the past with the same issues.

After two weeks of consistent steering wheel locking up and not being able to turn key in the ignition I brought the car into the dealership on June 6, 2017. I also turned the wheel counterclockwise and did as the manual instructed. It took several attempts, frusteration and being stranded at work several times and it finally unlocked. My husband had a difficult time unlocking the steering wheel as well. When I bought it to dealership it wasn't locking up and the service advisor said it would be looked at but that was a very common happening in these vehicles. One day after purchasing this car my problem began. Going over speeds of 30mph, if I hit any uneven surfaces or bumps in the road the car just wants to fish tail all over the road. This is a very scary thing to happen especially on the freeway. I constantly have to keep a death grip with both hands on the steering wheel. Just yesterday I nearly had a head on collision after hitting a bumpy part in the road. Thankfully I got control before it happened. This will be my second attempt at the dealership to get this resolved. During first attempt the dealership told me that these cars just have squirrely suspension and that's how they drive. This is unacceptable! somebody or a family is going to get hurt or killed if this is not corrected. Lemon law is in my search bar.

The sport steering is over sensitive which is a hazard. The slightest turn of the steering wheel causes the vehicle to turn abruptly. I have measured that a quick lane change could take place by moving the steering wheel by 1/4 of an inch in either direction. The slightest movement could cause an accident and bodily injury at highway speeds.

Car purchase brand new from dothan Hyundai. Noticed redlight looked like baby in a seatbelts. Called dealership and told it was nothing. Hd car services at Hyundai in albany GA and told it was nothing. . Had light looked at by another service and was told it was air bag not functioning and if I was involved in a serious accident my air bag would not work.
