I am unable. To drive my car anywhere. Each time I start my car. All warning lights flash like a christmas light. It causes the car to suddenly be slowed down. Or not to go full speed? I got the recall notice in the mail 4 weeks ago. My car has been parked in the garage for four months and has been there ever since. I need my car to go to work and I don't know what else to do. I can only do so much by using the cars of families and friends, but I need my car back because it's inconveniencing them too as well.

On November 2014, purchased Hyundai Equus from bob king Hyundai located in winston-salem, nc. Within a month, our headlights flashed on and off for a brief second. Occurred more often after that and the dealer checked the car to resolve problem. Nothing found. Months later, problem got more severe and once again dealer tried to fix and could not find a problem. Two or three times car went back to dealer and also a Hyundai dealer in hickory, nc and once again, nothing was found defective. Over the past year, car has experience longer periods of light going off. Recorded on dash-cam at 1:00am on interstate 77 lost of lights for 5 seconds at 70mph. I can supply a copy of that event if needed. I would say that I traveled over 300-500 feet without lights at that speed which could have been fatal. No warming lights or messages about the fault. I wrote the president of Hyundai motor company on December 3, 2022 with certified mail and return receipt and have not heard or been contacted by the company. I think this is a possible accident waiting to happen and injuries being incurred. Please help me with this issue as the safety of me and my family are at stake. Thank you for your attention into this matter. Cordially, fred crump 4958 river bend road claremont, nc 28610 cell: 828-244-5555 hom: 828-459-7080.
Car is equipped with an air bag suspension system. There was a failure with the airbags around 18 months ( in 2016) of the car being put in service. I was driving on a hway at 70 mph w/grandkids in the car when the airgbags failed and the nose of the car immediately went down and the car started to veer. Luckily there was no other cars around me and I was able to slow down and pull off the hway. Coincidentally, I was just a mile from the dealership and immediately took the car to them and they gave me loaner car and took it in to repair under warranty. Approximately 18 months later, the air bags failed again and the car was just past warranty so I paid for the repair but contacted Hyundai and they reimbursed me. Hyundai told me they had problems with the design of the airbags and redesigned it which is what my car was then equipped with. The air bag system has failed twice more since then. The most recent incident caused many problems with the car. The air bag system had a leak and caused the compressor to keep filling them. I don't believe this compressor was built to be in use so much and caused my battery and alternator to fail, then the compressor itself finally failed. All this took place because of the faulty suspension air bag system. I believe Hyundai was negligent in not issuing a recall when the airbags originally failed back in 2016 as it could have led to a bad accident. I went on line and found many chat rooms with people having had the same or similar experiences to me. Hyundai is well aware of the problems with the system yet has chosen to ignore it and hope the problem goes away. Because of all the problems with this suspension, they have since done away with it and gone to a standard suspension system on all the newer cars that are similar to mine ( now genisis). They need to do something for all the older cars still on the road with this old suspension. The date listed below is for the last incident mentioned in this document.
Driving at 75 mph and went to pass someone. The engine kicked down a few years and the entire car shut off. No power brakes and no steering and steering locked up for about a second or two. During the time it was off the vehicle jerked hard like if the tires had locked up. After the couple seconds the vehicle turned back on and everything was normal and no check engine lights or anything to indicate a problem I was driving on the I-80 heading to reno.

Whenever it gets hot in this area, my vehicle malfunctions. First the dash bubbled and had to be replaced. The leather on the driver door bubbles up and has been replaced. . It is bubbling again on the driver door but is not covered by the extended warranty. Both headrests have popped open. One happen while at the car wash and the other happened while I was in the grocery store. Both times the car was at rest and windows up. . It costs $1600 to replace. The driver window switch does not work when hot outside. Had it checked by the dealership at least 10 times. Maintenance agent witnessed it but by appointment time was not able to duplicate the problem so the warranty repair never occurred. Additionally,, the radio goes out and fries like a cb. Complained two years about this issue but again, the mechanic could never duplicate this issue when the car was returned for an appointment. All except for 3 times the mechanic witnessed the problem and showed me how to reset the radio. This issued occurred when car was in motion and about 50% of the time when the phone was connected and in use. I have to push a hole with a pen tip to reset it once a month. Eventually,, I complained to gm and they had radio replaced but dealership put in a different model other than the one for the car. Now phone system has to be reprogrammed for use whenever I enter the car as well as the radio system randomly changes the station when traveling. I have video of this issue. Lastly the windows get stuck in the up position when it is hot outside. Had them checked by maintenance manager, but he could not duplicate the issue during the appointment . Problem still exists.

Takata recall. The car has about 48000 miles. 1) when driving at highway speed, brake self applies forcefully at times when passing or being passed by other vehicles on the adjacent lanes on both sides, almost creating rear-end collisions on a few occasions. 2) when resetting the cruise control to the previous setting, it continues to accelerate past previous setting (over 100 mph) until being manually disengaged. 3) at times, at highway or local speed, the engine would cut off briefly while showing a quickly flashed message, then engine would power-up again a few seconds later for normal driving. 4) took the car to the dealership and advised that moisture inside the right rear tail light housing was the cause for the electrical problems. This vehicle has never been in an accident or damaged and according to many mechanics I have consulted, the fissure on tail light housing is probably due to poor workmanship from the factory. Dealer cost for this repair, $1800. 00. The dashboard cover is lifting off (getting unglued) from its base due to the florida heat. Cost for repair, more than $4,000. Due to the incessant number of daily robocalls, please contact by phone text or email. Thank you.
This is the e-mail that I sent to Hyundai to notify them of a serious safety issue w. Their new Equus: I wanted to alert you about a potentially severe safety issue that happened to occur while my 13 yr old son & I were examining the Equus at the charlotte autoshow. I was sitting in the driver seat, my son was sitting in the passenger seat & another couple, who we did not know, were in the back seat checking out the electronic controls. Suddenly, the passenger seat started to move forward & at the same time the seat back began to fold forward. My son shouted out that the seat was moving, but neither he nor I were touching any of the controls. The couple in back noticed this, but continued to examine/try the controls on the rear seat center arm rest. My son sitting in the passenger seat, which had now moved completely forward, with the seat back still continuing to move, could not reach the door handle to escape. Within a few seconds he became pinned against the dash board & was crushed between the seat back & the dash. I yelled out for everyone to stop touching buttons immediately, while I also tried to move the seat toward the rear using the buttons on the top/side of the passenger seat. The seat stopped moving forward & I was then able to move it rearward, freeing my son. He was gasping for air at the point & another auto show attendee opened the door from the outside, allowing my son to escape. I called one of the Hyundai show reps over to the car to point out this safety issue & he took note. The root cause was the rear seat couple was trying to adjust their seats, but they were unknowingly using the control that moves the passenger seat forward for more rear leg room. There appears to be no safety sensor that prevents this. There should be a safety switch, using the front passenger weight to deactivate the rear seat controls for the front passenger seat.

Since I bought my car, it randomly opens the trunk by itself without pushing any button on the dashboard or on the remote control. One time, I almost drove back into a car passing by, because my rear view was blocked by opened trunk. I am afraid that my trunk may open while I am driving by itself or run into another car because my view was blocked by this trunk. I have four videos of my trunk being opened by itself, but Hyundai's distric parts and service manager is refusing to fix my problem. . Read more...
