Abs light is on and diagnosed needs replaced shortly after purchased the car November 2022, and is ongoing and currently an issue 4/5/24. The original abs began to go out, would have to pump the brakes to stop and would not always catch. Driving at 75 mph and went to pass someone. The engine kicked down a few years and the entire car shut off. No power brakes and no steering and steering locked up for about a second or two. The brake pedal travel is very long. I must begin the stopping process much earlier than previous. The dealer diagnosed a failed hecu. The vehicle is only a few miles and one month out of warranty. Hyundai motor America had an inspection campaign for genesis hecu units, but not Equus. How can the hecu be properly inspected without disassembling the unit? Hyundai should replace the failed hecu.
