3 Brake Light On problem

Failure Date: 08/14/2014

I began having this issue 10 days ago with my 2010 Genesis coupe. The concern I had was not only was the interior flickering but it resulted in my running night brake lights not working. I took the car to the dealer I'm at 62k miles just out of warranty. They ran diagnostic and thought it was a lose bracing for the wires. I picked it up and the issue began again. I took it in 4 days ago they then said it was a fuse switch issue and replaced it but the issue continued. They then said it may be a fuse box issue couple of hundred $$ or worst case a main issue with total wiring from internal fuse box and fuse box in the engine area which could run $2k! but no definite answer to what was causing this. The Hyundai representative said they even happen to have a senior electric engineer on location that day and he couldn't pinpoint exactly the problem.

5 Brake Light On problem

Failure Date: 01/20/2014

Took my 2010 Genesis in for service. . . Brake stop lights were not working. Replaced defective switch. Took my same car in for state inspection on September 9, 2014, brake lights not working again. Replaced defective switch myself because of 2 hour drive to dealer and the safety issue involved with driving vehicle. Something needs to be done! these switches should not fail this often. . . . This is a very serious safety issue. We don't know how long this switch was not working since there is no way to tell when you are driving the vehicle. . . Thanks! john davis.

6 Brake Light On problem

Failure Date: 07/19/2013

Several months ago when I attempted to brake, the pedal went down to the floor. However, upon stopping the car and restarting the engine, the car appeared to be normal. I called the dealer and reported the problem and was told by the service writer that if it was not "doing it further" and there were no warning lights there was no point in bringing the car in. Today, I experienced a total brake failure; this time I was in a parking lot and the pedal went all the way to the floor and I was only able to stop the car by letting it reduce to coasting speed and shifting into "park". As I was only a few blocks from my house, I was able to limp home, pumping the brake to stop. My husband called the dealership when I got home and was told to bring it over. The dealership is about 4 miles from our house, my husband drove very slowly and found that upon pressing the brake pedal there was minimal braking and then complete fade out of the brakes. He used the parking brake to stop the car when necessary. When the car was examined at the dealership they reported to my husband that the abs module had failed and needed to be replaced. (it is important to note that this failure took place without warning and without any indicator lights, either the abs light or the brake light, indicating that there was a problem. ) before filing this complaint, I looked online and found many, many complaints of the exact same problem. Why hasn't NHTSA ordered an investigation or recall?.
