1 Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 10/18/2016

The contact owns a 2011 Hyundai Genesis. While driving approximately 25 mph, the cruise control erroneously activated and could not be turned off. While depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle would slow down but the cruise control would not deactivate. After switching the transmission to neutral, the rpms immediately increased to 5,000. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the cruise control module failed and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,300.

2 Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 07/16/2012

Over the past two months I've experienced three cases of uncontrolled acceleration. Specifically, as I'm driving the car begins to accelerate. I remove my foot from the accelerator and the car continues to accelerate. As I step on the brake the car will slow down, but it's "fighting" me. As I remove my foot from the brake the car begins to accelerate again. If I shift into neutral while this is happening, the rpm's on the car increase very rapidly. The only way I can stop this is to turn the car off. I'm not using cruise control and I have been traveling from 35 to 40 mph. I can't recreate this problem at will and neither can the dealer - so nobody at the dealership has any idea what to do. They have contacted Hyundai with no luck.
