On Wednesday June 14th 2017, while in motion and operating the vehicle on a state route at 45 mph, the windshield wipers ceased all operations, just completely ceased to function. It was during a rainstorm at the time est 7:45am maineville, ohio / mason ohio area to verify the storm with weather channel, a severe thunderstorm was in effect. I had to stop the car in the middle of the road to prevent an accident from happening stopping all traffic behind me. The specific part is the wiper motor and the transmission broke according to columbia Hyundai. They refused to repair it under stated extended warranty. Service manager stated if I caused a wreck it would have caused a campaign recall. The recall as I understand it is 140. But yet they refused to repair it.
I was driving down the highway at approximately 70 mph at just a little past dusk when out of nowhere I heard a very loud pop. At first I assumed that my windshield had been hit by a large rock or something that had been kicked up off the road and I immediately began looking for any sign of damage. I saw nothing and continued driving. A minute later I hear a whistling noise. Trying to figure out where it's coming from, I eventually partially slide open the roof panel and discover that there is a gaping hole in the sunroof. The more I drive, and the more bumps I hit, more and more glass keeps falling. Fortunately, my sliding roof panel was closed, so it prevented any of the glass from falling on me. It could be a big safety issue for glass to randomly shatter a driver who is on the highway. Fortunately for me, it had just stopped raining 30 minutes before this happened. I have filed an insurance claim, and they're going to fix it in a few days, but it's going to cost more than my $500 deductible. One estimate I received was for $600. I've known very many people who drive cars with sunroofs and have owned prior, and I have never seen or heard of this happening on others. Here's hoping it doesn't rain between now and when it's fixed.
When engaging the turn signal, the headlights will flash off and back on quickly. This only happens when the headlights are set to "on" (as opposed to "auto"). It does not happen every time the turn signal is engaged, but it happens 15-20% of the time. It is distracting to the driver of the vehicle as well as other drivers around the vehicle. . Read more...
