Engine completely stalled 4 times when coming to a stop at a red light. Dashboard lit up with all the icons like it does when you press start on the car without actually turning it on. Ac and radio stayed on but brake pedal and steering wheel tightened up and loss of function in traffic. Had to put gear in park turn off the car and turn it back on. All 4 times it came back on without any problems and took me home. Common issue that others have described and can kill someone!.
Hyundai Genesis 2012 engine stalls in traffic at slow speeds. As I was slowing down ona crowded freeway on ramp the engine died. All lights went on and I had no control over the car steering or brakes. After a minute or so I was able to restart the car and it seems to drive normally. This is the third time this has happened.

Engine stalled randomly at lower speeds, usually while turning. Lose power steering and brakes - extremely difficult to control car and unbelievably dangerous. It has happened to me 3 times and my 16 year old daughter twice, all while turning from a highway or highway intersection. Fortunately I had told her it might happen to her and what to expect if it did. Given the number and consistency of other complaints filed, it is equally unbelievable that such a safety issue has not been investigated. It is so random that it will be very difficult to replicate, but given the potential for injuries or deaths this is an unacceptable manufacturer problem.

Engine stall. While driving the car at speed below 25mph during rush hour traffic on the freeway the engine suddenly stalled. All of the lights on the dash lighted up. I was able to get the car stopped, put it in park and it started up again as if nothing happened. This has occurred 3 times in the past 12 months. The two previous times were on a city street while making a right hand turn. This time it was on a straightway. All three occurrences the car had a minimum 1/4 tank of gas, was on a level surface and traveling below 30 mph. The car has been brought to the dealer on several occasions and they cannot find any fault codes. On one occasion there was one other Genesis brought in with the same problem on the same day.
This ihas happened 4-5 times. I was driving on a street, thank god, I was not on hwyway, engine just stalled and streering wheel locked. I was hard but, somehow managed to get on the curbe and avoid a crash. If this would have happened on freeway, it would have been fatal. I think, Hyundai sure know this problem exist in Genesis too. It is same problem ( symptoms) as described in Hyundai's sonata recall. I don't know what is hyundia waiting for. It is a serious problem with a $50,000 car . I have no trust on this car anymore. This would be my last Hyundai. I know, if I take car to dealership , I would hear response that , no issue found. Genesis has a serious engine problem with stalling.
