1 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 06/22/2019

As I exited the freeway I shifted out of 6th gear (70mph) and pressed the brakes taking it down to 40mph. The rpms continued to rev up to 6k and beyond. The brakes did respond, so I felt there wasn't immediate danger. I immediately pulled over to the shoulder and stopped my car by turning off the key. Turning the car back on, not in any gear, not pressing the gas, the rpms began to rev just as high again. So I turned the key off again. I decided to try again, started the car, it began revving up the rpms. I shifted into first gear to see what would happen and it began to decrease in rpm. Then it became normal. But now there is a knocking noise in the engine when I accelerate that was not present before. It's less noticeable at 1st and 2nd gear, but gets more pronounced from 3rd gear onward. There were no warning lights, no check engine light. I took it to firestone where they told me it's possible that the engine may need replaced. I did find there was a report of engine processing flaws that could result in a knocking noise on various news sites but nothing official. This car has only 40k~ miles. It was manufactured in 2011 as I bought it hot off the lot at 6miles on the odometer. I get regular oil changes using synthetic oil only. It's mint. No reason for this to be occurring.

2 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 06/19/2018

While making a right turn onto ramp engine falls cuts off and I have no control over steering, breaks or anything. Finally got it on to the side of road and put it in park and it cracked right up. This is very scary. What if I had been going fast down the road and could not stop the car. Someone could be killed like this. I decided to look it up on google and found out that lots of other have had the same identical problems and no mechanic or anyone can find anything. Hyundai needs to be held accountable for this and fix there miss up but of course it will take people being killed first.

4 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 01/14/2016

I was turning to park in my parking space and all of a sudden the car began to accelerate with such speed that I thought it would jump the curb and crash into my home. Failure Date: 03/15/2015

The contact owns a 2012 Hyundai Genesis coupe. On several occasions, while driving, the contact applied pressure to the brake pedal and heard an abnormal noise coming from the brake pedal. While the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle failed to stop and accelerated without warning. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to geweke Ford (871 e onstott rd, yuba city, CA 95991 (530) 821-2121), but no diagnostic failure codes were found and the failure could not be replicated. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.

6 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 09/13/2013

The vehicle accelerated without the gas pedal having a force applied thereto and with the brake pedal being depressed. Once the automatic transmission was placed in park, the engine operated at over 3,000 rpm without the gas pedal being depressed. Once the engine is turned off and restarted the vehicle operates normally for a short period of time.

7 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 08/14/2013

While driving 25 mph I tried to accelerate the vehicle to avoid collision. Vehicle hesitated to accelerate for a few seconds when accelerator pedal was pressed. Later I tested a vehicle noticed similar consistent hesitation at various speeds. Took vehicle to the dealer. Hesitation was recreated and documented, however dealer was unable to find anything wrong with the vehicle and based on that stated that condition is normal, refusing repair.

8 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 01/04/2013

Auto hold technology feature failed at a stop light. When on, auto hold illuminates white, and green when it is actively holding the vehicle in place, without the need to depress brake pedal. On a stop light car jerked forward and the auto hold illumination turned orange in color from green. Auto hold feature would not reset even when restarting vehicle. Dealership was able to reset, citing a shortage in the auto-hold unit, with a replacement part ordered.
