2 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2015 Hyundai Genesis

Failure Date: 03/31/2024

The contact owns a 2015 Hyundai Genesis. The contact stated that the driver's side mirror failed to adjust properly to view the surroundings on the driver's side of the vehicle. The failure was causing issues and a need for chiropractic care due to the contact needing to manually turn and adjust to safely view oncoming traffic, which aggravated previous neck and back injuries. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the mirror had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. When having the oil changed, the dealer informed the contact of 2 recalls; NHTSA campaign number: 21v160000 (service brakes, hydraulics) and NHTSA campaign number unknown (manufacturer number 252) and service campaign manufacturer number 965 (NHTSA id number unknown). The fuel module, fuse assembly, and relay were replaced or repaired. The vehicle was kept for the remedies to be completed; however, approximately 2-3 weeks after the remedies were completed, the vehicle would hesitate when driving at various speeds, the engine would stall without warning, and the vehicle would fail to start on initial start-up, intermittently. The contact used engine cleaner, seafoam, and lucas cleaner for the engine; however, the engine failure persisted. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who was not able to provide a diagnosis or make contact for any updates since the vehicle's been returned. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and had 2 cases of the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 96,000.

4 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2013 Hyundai Genesis

Failure Date: 10/08/2013

I had to put in a date to make this work this a problem from the first day I bought the car. From a stop if I accelerated to a few miles per hour and for some reason I had to stop, when I pushed down on the accelerator nothing happened. After a second or two the car jumped forward and if another car was close I would have I would have rear ended it. Obviously, I am extra cautious and have avoided this problem. I reported it to the dealer twice and got the same answer, "OH they all do that. " the dealers are protecting Hyundai. Who will protect me? I checked online and found that there are many people with this problem. One person said he turned off the tracking control system. This is a dangerous problem especially for an inexperienced or novice driver.

5 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2010 Hyundai Genesis

Failure Date: 08/02/2011

While driving my 2010 Hyundai Genesis sedan I began to feel dizzy and light headed. My heart began to race and my hands became numb and tingly. This also happened briefly yesterday ( 8/1/11 ). Upon exiting the vehicle, there was a very strong smell of gasoline. A friend drove me to the er where I described my symptoms to the doctor on duty. After drawing my blood, it was determined that my CO - carbon monoixde, level was higher than normal - 3 times normal. I had been in the car for aproximately 3 hours today. When I went to drive the vehicle to a hotel, I had to put all windows down and sunroof open because of the gas vapors. I have reported this to Hyundai of north America and they are towing the car to dealership to investigate.

6 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2009 Hyundai Genesis

Failure Date: 03/31/2011

(electrial issues) reported to dealer that radio crackles and stop working as well as the blue tooth that only works maybe 1/8 of the time. They found "no problems" (on my first of 5 trips to the dealer within 7 months back up camera stopped working. (replaced) steering wheel stuck up in the high position driver seat cushion buckled and had to be replaced, (replaced in Feb 2011) fuel gauge/warning light failed which caused me to run out of gas. (no warning lights came on and the miles to go states I had 56 miles) part is on order for radio or radio replaced not sure as of 9/27/11. Hoping all this will also fix the blue tooth as the dealer states this is no problem. Dash light go out. So after only 7 months of owning this car, the car has been back to the dealer at least 5 times (with problems), the most recent, 9/26/11 I took car in and told them to keep it until all fixed (they have had the cars for 3 days so far). The problem is that it is electrical and unless they see it they can't fix it. With each of failure this car has I would document with a picture to proved I wasn't crazy!! so whats the deal with the blue tooth, its not my phone as it is paired and connected. The only way it will work is that if I unpair my phone while in the car before starting, start the car, pair the phone, connect the phone, wait 5 min and I might get lucky than it will work. I can dial thru the car, shows who I dialing, my phone say blue tooth on, but will not work, display pad, will show repeated that the call has ended, and flash back and forth to dial pad and message call has ended, while I had to switch from blue tooth to speaker and talk directly to hand held phone. When a call comes my phone rings, the speaker in the car rings, but the bluetooth is unable to p/u the car. So frustating!.

7 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2011 Hyundai Genesis

Failure Date: 02/25/2011

This vehicle was purchase new on 2/4/11. It is rated at 20 mpg city 30 mpg highway. The mileage has consistently been poor. It now has 4200 miles on it and highway mileage with the cruise control on, in warm weather, with no load other than the driver is around 24 mpg. I had it checked by Hyundai and they replaced the 02 sensor. This improved the highway mileage slightly from 23 to 24 mpg. It has never approached 25 mpg let alone 30 mpg. I have read about others complaining about the poor mileage on 4 cylinder Genesis coupes. If the mileage ratings had been more accurate I would not have even considered buying this car. Please recalculate the mileage ratings to accurately reflect what people will get.
