I went to go to work and the drivers door opened, and would not latch. This has happened 4 times in the last 9 months. I will be driving down the highway at 60 mph, and the drivers door opens by itself, and it will not latch. So at this point I am trying to drive the car while holding the door. This is extremely dangerous for me, as well as other drivers. We had the car towed to the Hyundai dealer two weeks ago, and they replaced the door actuator again. This did not fix the vehicle the last time they did it. I will not drive this vehicle again, due to the fact that it puts me in grave danger. The general manager from napletons Hyundai in west palm beach, florida has yet to return any of my calls. We have purchased four vehicles from this dealership. Hyundai feels it is fine for me to drive this unsafe vehicle. In may 2013 the service manager took the vehicle home for 5 days to see if he could get the door to malfunction, and he experienced it. They replaced the door actuator, but his did not fix the problem. We have a four year lease on this vehicle and we are at a loss as what to do. The vehicle is not safe for me, or anyone else to drive.

The contact owns a 2010 Hyundai Genesis coupe. While driving approximately 65 mph, the hood independently released in an open position . The contact cautiously pulled over to the side of the road and closed the hood tightly. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer on four separate occasions where the hood latch was adjusted each time. The manufacturer was made aware of the defect. The failure mileage was unknown.

The hood on the 2010 Hyundai Genesis coupe does not fit properly allowing the hood to bounce at normal driving speeds. I have advised Hyundai USA and they have advised me that the fit of the hood is to specification. My concern with the vehicle is if the hood does not fit properly, it may not latch properly. They have stated, but will not put in writing, the hood will not unlatch.
Subject: Hyundai Genesis 2009 4. 6 litre. New car 2000 miles driven. When one comes to a stop with the engine running and transmission in "drive" and then when the stop/start button is pressed, the engine stops but when the gear shift lever is pushed forward from "drive" towards "park" it will only travel as far as "neutral". This is a hazard as anyone not familiar with driving the car might assume the car is in "park" or leave it in "drive" or ""neutral", walk away and permit the car to free wheel roll. In a conventional car without a keyless feature, it is impossible to get the keys out of the ignition until the gear shift is placed in "park", a feature in place for many years and universally accepted. When one turns off the engine as described above there is a momentary warning message displayed on the dash which says, "move into park" but as described above one cannot shift the lever past "neutral" unless the stop/start button is pressed and the motor restarts. In other words, one cannot put the car into "park" without the leaving the engine running. It seems to me that there should be a voice warning which says, "restart engine and place in "park". After having a bit of a scare parking on the steep grade I have learned the hard way but I remain concerned about our friends and auto service personnel who will drive the car and who are not familiar with this car.
