Upon leaving the city, I attempted to accelerate and my car did not respond. I smelled exhaust gas fumes faintly. I heard the warning chimes approximately 4 times, but did not see any warning light. I coasted to a stop a few hundred feet where I could get off road. I pushed the engine off button and waited a few seconds, then I restarted the car and proceeded like it never happened. This could have caused serious problem if I had been on a freeway, tunnel, or bridge. I took the car to the dealership service department the next day, and they checked it out with nothing showing up. My incident seems like the faulty egr valve with poor solder connections: NHTSA recall no. : 24v-308 manufacturer recall no. : 260, but my vehicle was not included in this recall.
