Automatic Emergency Braking problems of the 2022 Hyundai Palisade

On 7/22/26 at about 5:15pm, I was operating my vehicle, a 2022 Hyundai Palisade in the parking lot of publix supermarket at valrico commons and was attempting to enter a parking space. I made a right from the parking thruway to enter a right parking space. I felt one of the right wheels graze the pedestrian sidewalk as I was driving about 5 miles per hour, next thing the vehicle lunged forward out of control and though I tried applying the brakes, the brakes would not respond. As a result, my vehicle ending up hitting a parking pole, which resulted in two vehicles parked opposite to me being hit by the pole. There was no one in the parked vehicles.

I own a 2022 Hyundai Palisade sel. On xxx, while driving at the intersection of [xxx] and [xxx] in [xxx], the engine abruptly lost power, causing a sudden loss of engine power while the vehicle was in motion. This is my family's primary vehicle, and my wife and children were in the car during this incident. On xxx, I brought the vehicle to courtesy Hyundai in [xxx]. The dealer found essentially no oil in the engine despite my keeping up with scheduled oil changes. The dealer replaced the oil and performed a software update described on the repair order as "9c9 c ecu sw update emissions imprv 26-01-010h," and I was instructed to return after 1,000 miles for an oil-level recheck. At that recheck, the dealer's service assistant reported the oil was full. On xxx, before a planned family road trip, I returned the vehicle for another check. The service department found the engine was two quarts low — this was only 4,000 miles after the oil service on April 10, 2026. The dealer stated they requested an oil consumption test but that Hyundai denied the request. Per the dealer's instructions, I returned again after another 1,000 miles, and the engine was one quart low. I am filing this complaint because I believe the excessive oil consumption and the resulting loss of engine power represent a safety defect that has not been remedied. An engine that abruptly loses power while driving creates a serious hazard, including loss of power steering and reduced braking assist, and I am concerned for my family's safety while this condition remains unresolved. The system that has the issue is the emergency braking system. The brakes of the car have engaged automatically at highway speeds more than 5 times. This has put the safety of the individuals in my car at risk as well as the cars around me because the cars behind me then got way to close because of my vehicle breaking. It is also very jarring for the driver and could make the driver make the driver swerve thinking there is someone getting too close. The emergency braking lights flash on the dash when this happens. I am waiting to get an appointment with the dealer.

Ebp system failed. Upon investigation, the caliper and electrical was corroded and in non-working order. The car wouldn’t release the ebp and was unsafe to drive.

On 11/01/2023 I was driving on s 11th st and my car speed 30-35 mph . I saw the traffic signal light turning amber to red and I tried hard break to stop my car but it could not stop and crashed with the truck . I am having doubt something on break system did not work and cased that crashed I also called the Hyundai USA and reported this incident to them my call ticket with them is 22407189 on 11/30/2023 .
