Power Train problem #1

We had two incidences with in a week. 1. My wife was at a stop light getting ready to go through an intersection when the light turned green she pressed on the gas pedal and the vehicle would not go it just flashed a few codes and a warning came up about a possible condition that occurred. She had to place the vehicle in park shut it off start it up again and put it into drive mode in order to get going again all this while in traffic. We made an appointment with Hyundai of anchorage but they couldnt find a problem they updated the soft ware and gave the car back to us. 2. The second time it did this was about a week later. My wife went shopping and got into the car to leave, she started the car and put it into gear and it would not move when giving it gas it flashed some more codes at that point she called me. I restarted the vehicle got it moving and when I came to a stoplight with five vehicles ahead of me the light finally turned green vehicles started moving but when I went to move the car would not go and there was a vehicle behind me a ways back that was approaching rather fast. As my wife did before I had to shut the vehicle off restart it and put it in drive in order to go.

Power Train problem #2

The vehicle has two open safety recalls. Recall 26v034000 – the vehicle does not meet federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 226 for ejection mitigation. There is currently no remedy available. Recall 25v607000 – seat belt buckle may not latch properly, increasing the risk of injury in a crash. The vehicle also had a powertrain fault that triggered the check engine light and it has been at the dealership for more than 30 days for I am concerned about the safety of my famil.

Power Train problem #3

On January 12, 2026, the vehicle shut off twice during the same trip while driving in traffic. All dashboard warning lights illuminated, the tachometer spiked, rpm readings did not correspond, the gear selector became unresponsive, and the vehicle lost propulsion while in motion. On February 15, 2026, the vehicle shut off again while driving under similar conditions. The vehicle was taken to a Hyundai dealership for diagnosis. The battery failed a load test and was replaced. According to the repair order narrative, after the battery replacement, the stall condition recurred during dealership testing. Multiple extended road tests and datalogging were later performed. The dealership has stated they are unable to re-replicate the condition and that no active diagnostic codes are present. The vehicle has experienced multiple loss-of-power events while in motion. An intermittent stall while driving presents a significant safety hazard, particularly in traffic conditions. The root cause has not been definitively identified.

Power Train problem #4

I am unsure what exact component malfunctioned but in 5 separate times within the past 2 months, the vehicle has failed to stop at a normal time when pressing the brakes and a loud rumbling occurs. It feels as if I am sliding on ice. Two of the times it occurred on uneven road surfaces, however 3 times I could not identify an issue with the road. They all occured when coming to a stoplight/stop sign or when I had to stop due to a vehicle slowing down or stopping in front of me. In each occurrence I was going under 20 mph. The safety of others could have definitely been impacted as it took a few seconds to actually stop the vehicle more than it should have. Someone could have been walking and crossing the street in front of me. Or if I was too close to the car in front of me it could have hit it. No warning messages appeared on the dashboard prior, but during the occurrence in the last time, I noticed the word "shift" appear. This word could have shown up during the first few times and I could have missed it. On Tuesday September 9th I took it to the dealership and they checked everything out and the vehicle did not produce the same symptoms when they tested it out over the hour I was there. They said they reported the issue but they did not know the reason it was occuring.

Power Train problem #5

My brakes are intermittently disengaging during bumps and potholes. I experience a rattling undercarriage and pedal vibration. Sometimes I must crank the steering wheel to regain braking. This poses an immediate safety risk to myself and others. The service advisor mentioned other customers coming in for the same issue. I have had my car in three times for this issue but they’ve never been able to replicate the issue. It has been an ongoing issue since the inception of the lease but has gotten progressively worse. This is a life-threatening issue.

Power Train problem #6

Hyundai Palisade fails to shift gears from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd coming from a stop. Engine rpms continuously shoots up until I put it in park causing a very unsafe environment since I had would be forced to stop in moving traffic. Brought car to Hyundai dealership and upon inspection they found internal transmission failure where they removed and replaced with a refurbished transmission. This also causes some concern and have noticed already replication of this issue.

Power Train problem #7

At low speeds on bumpy surfaces the entire front end, (brakes and suspension), sometimes shakes heavily when brakes are applied. Shaking is so severe that brakes have to be released then reapplied. When dealer was advised during a normal service the advisers claimed to have no knowledge of the issue. I had advised before visiting for the service however no action was taken by them. I shall visit another Hyundai dealer in the immediate future to attempt a resolution.

Power Train problem #8

The contact rented a 2024 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while the vehicle was in park(p), she exited the vehicle and proceeded to the rear of the vehicle. The contact stated that while attempting to open the rear latch, the vehicle started rolling backwards. The vehicle collided with a vehicle and was scratched and then collided with the mirror on another vehicle and stopped. The contact sustained knee and leg inquires. A police report was filed. No medical attention was needed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Power Train problem #9

Each time the vehicle is driven the transmission will slip out of gear when trying to shift and send the engine rpm into a rev. During this vehicle stops accelerating and feels as if it is completely in neutral. Finally the transmission will slam into gear jostling the occupants. This happens when the engine attempts to shift around 15,20,25 and 40 mph. Once the transmission slipped out of gear on a shift, lost acceleration, and then slammed to a halt as if shifting into park. The vehicle was moving at 15 mph when this occurred and the vehicle came to a complete stop. I have taken the vehicle into the dealers service department to be told they cannot duplicate the issue. Each time when I get the vehicle back it immediate starts slipping out of gear on shifts again. I have recorded the issue numerous times but have been unable to get the dealer to accept there is an issue.

Power Train problem #10

The transmission failed at under 800 miles on this new vehicle. Each gear shift in the transmission was substantially extended and the vehicle would jerk when sitting into gear. You could hear/feel the engine revving while only accelerating slightly. When entering the highway, the vehicle's extended shift caused a very slow and delayed acceleration, requiring other drivers to change lanes or rapidly slow down to avoid a collision. The Hyundai dealer confirmed the transmission issue, and submitted a warranty claim to Hyundai which was approved. The vehicle is currently pending repair. There were no warning lamps or messages. I have several videos showing the problem, but can not attach them.
