Other Fuel System problem #1

A week or so after taking the car in for an oil change, I was on the highway and heard a rattling sound coming from the engine. There were no indicator or warning lights from the dashboard. The car then stopped accelerating. It was on, and the accelerator increased the rpms but the car did not move faster. I safely got home and checked the oil and it had less than a quart. There were no low-oil indicator lights telling me the oil was low. Separately, this week, while driving in the city, the engine again started making rattling sounds and completely shut off forcing me to pull off the road. Again, prior to the shut off there were no indicator lights. I was able to pull to the side of the road safely. I tried to restart the car and it would idle roughly befor the engine shut off again. After waiting 30 minutes, I checked the oil to see if the previous cause was the culprit, but this time the oil was still full. After 45 minutes, I was able to restart the car and drive home. I researched the issue and there are many complaints on reddit about this for this make and model. Since the issue is intermittent and can't be replicated at the dealership, there is no fix offered. I no longer trust or feel safe driving this car, especially on highways.

Other Fuel System problem #2

2022 Hyundai Palisade fuel pump injector failure under 100k miles.

Other Fuel System problem #3

I am reporting a serious safety issue involving my 2025 Hyundai Palisade. The vehicle has repeatedly produced white smoke during cold start and has experienced loss of engine power while driving. Despite multiple repair visits (six times) to an authorized Hyundai dealership, the dealer repeatedly stated that the condition could not be reproduced and no repairs were performed. I provided video evidence of the white smoke and described the symptoms in writing at each visit. Shortly after the most recent service visit(12/22/25), within approximately five days, the vehicle displayed an “engine power limited” warning message and a malfunction indicator light (mil). When this occurred, the vehicle’s power was significantly reduced, making it difficult to maintain speed and creating a potentially dangerous condition, especially during highway driving or merging into traffic. This issue poses a serious safety risk because sudden loss of engine power can increase the risk of collision. The problem appears to be intermittent but recurring, and it has not been properly diagnosed or corrected by the dealership despite repeated opportunities. The vehicle has not been repaired for this condition, and the defect remains unresolved. The condition may be available for inspection upon request, and diagnostic data such as warning messages and onboard fault codes should be present in the vehicle’s system. The failure began with white smoke during cold start and later escalated to engine power limitation and warning lights.

Other Fuel System problem #4

Occasionally, the car's rpms fluctuate wildly, and the engine stalls; the surges in rpm lead to sudden, abrupt acceleration, which poses a safety risk to me and my family. The dealership has been unable to resolve the problem.

Other Fuel System problem #5

While being inspected at the dealership, multiple fuel injectors (#1 and #3) were found to be leaking. This presents a severe fire hazard as fuel is escaping onto engine components. The dealership confirmed the leak and suggested replacing all six injectors due to potential systemic failure, but the manufacturer (Hyundai) is refusing 100% coverage. I have been without a vehicle for over a week, and this is a critical safety defect that could lead to an engine fire or stalling while driving.

Other Fuel System problem #6

While driving we suddenly lost acceleration and the pedal all the way to the floor made no difference. It came back fairly quick, but this has happened several times. We contacted Hyundai corporate reference # xxxon 11/15/25 we then went to the local dealership invoice number xxxwhere we were told they didn’t know the cause and couldn’t duplicate it. That was anlso on 11/15/25. Since then it happened a couple more times. I feel this is very dangerous. We lost all acceleration on the highway in traffic. Date we took the car in was November 15. It happened the third time Nov 14, 2025 it also happened again on December 1. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Other Fuel System problem #7

Since purchasing the vehicle brand new in oct 2021, all recommended services have been executed on time. (records to prove it can be provided if required) Aug 25, 2025. Mileage = 78,247. Full preventative maintenance including gdi fuel service and oil change Nov 21, 2025. Mileage = 85,421. I am on a 2 hour commute home and the engine is stalling at every stop. Needs to be re-started each time. Pinging noise when accelerating. The car is brought into parkway Hyundai in wilmington, nc. Oil was below dipstick. This lack of oil causes the engine to misfire. I asked why the "low oil" light doesn't appear. I am told that he didn't know but the light only goes on when its completely out of oil. That doesn't seem safe at all. At this point, I am told by service agent that this is a known problem with Hyundai and the recommend bringing the vehicle in for oil checks every 1,000 miles Dec 15, 2025. Mileage = 86,597. Oil check - engine 0. 4 quarts low after 1,000 miles. I am told it is "within Hyundai's range of acceptance Jan 2, 2025. Mileage = 88,463. Oil check - engine 1. 4 qts low after 2,000 miles. I am told 0. 75 quarts every 1,000 miles is within the accepted range. Jan 22, 2025. Mileage = 89,487. Oil check - engine 0. 9 qts low after 1,000 miles. I am told 0. 9 qts is within Hyundai's accepted range. This is unacceptable for a car to burn almost a quart of oil every 1,000 miles.

Other Fuel System problem #8

I own a 2021 Hyundai Palisade calligraphy with approximately 114,000 miles. The transmission had to be replaced at around 98,000 miles. Recently, before my next scheduled oil change (I had about 1,000 miles left), my vehicle suddenly began making a loud knocking noise and lost power. The dealer informed me that the engine may have blown. There were no warning lights, oil indicators, or overheating signs before this happened. The car has been regularly maintained and serviced with timely oil changes. This appears to be a premature engine failure possibly related to oil consumption or an internal defect, as many other Palisade owners have reported similar issues. Hyundai consumer affairs has been contacted, and a case number is being opened for review. I am filing this complaint to report a potential widespread engine problem and request investigation into 2021 Hyundai Palisade engine reliability and oil-related failures.

Other Fuel System problem #9

I smell gasoline through the ac vent at every stop when I drive the car locally at low speed (under 50 mph) after the car has been parked overnight. The smell eventually goes away after driving a while, but it comes back the next day when the car has been parked overnight. I feel like the smell is worse as the fuel tank gets lower. I took the car to the dealership and they were not able to identify the problem.

Other Fuel System problem #10

The weather became cold outside. After first frost overnight, an oil leak started underneath the hood next to the front passenger side tire. Got in be serviced 11/19. Told the plastic piece to oil housing assembly cracked and had 9 other Palisades in for same exact issue. No warning lamps. Cost $519 to replace part.

Other Fuel System problem #11

I am a 77 year old senior and was driving my 2025 Hyundai tucson highbrid at approx. 70 mph on the highway, then suddenly there was significant shuddering through the tucson with noticeable loss of power. The tucson dropped to 30 mph. After that it would accelerate with significant shuddering. This would repeat several times while driving. In addition there were no malfunctioning indicators, or warning lights. We were never so scared in our lives. This occurred on Thursday , October 2 nd. 2025 at around 1:00 p. M. On highway 355 and 53 traveling northbound.

Other Fuel System problem #12

Our motor has been consuming a lot of oil, we were told that Hyundai knows about the issue and that there is nothing they can do. We got sold a poor excuse of a warranty in which they never told us that the warranty would not cover oil consumption, but we have the “best” warranty they had. Our car has died going down the road with my 4 kids and wife! cars had to swerve to avoid a collision, 5 times this has happened but yet they will not do anything! we will be seeking legal help!.

Other Fuel System problem #13

On [xxx], while driving on the freeway, my 2020 Hyundai Palisade suddenly malfunctioned and went up in flames without warning. My young son was in the vehicle with me. Within moments, smoke and fire spread rapidly, forcing us to stop in traffic and escape before the fire fully engulfed the car. The entire vehicle became a total loss. This was a terrifying, life-threatening situation. My safety and my son’s safety were at extreme risk. If my other family members had been in the car, the outcome could have been catastrophic. The emotional trauma from this event is significant and continues to affect us. The incident was reported to the san antonio fire department, who responded to the scene and documented the fire. Their reports confirm the vehicle fire: incident report #[xxx] and safd case #[xxx]. After researching, I discovered that similar fires have been reported in Hyundai vehicles, raising concerns that this is part of a wider safety defect. Families should not have to fear their vehicle spontaneously igniting on the road. At the time of the fire, there were no warning lamps, error messages, or symptoms that suggested the vehicle was unsafe. The failure happened suddenly and without warning. The vehicle has not been inspected by Hyundai at this time, but it is available for inspection upon request. I am urging a full investigation into Hyundai’s design and safety practices, as this fire placed lives in immediate danger. This was not just a mechanical failure—it was a potentially fatal event that could have resulted in severe injury or loss of life.

Other Fuel System problem #14

Vehicle stalled and suddenly went into park mode from drive mode and lights started flashing along with engine light. Not idling properly, or shifting properly, has to be towed to dealership. 2020 with only 72,000 miles.

Other Fuel System problem #15

I recently purchased a Hyundai vehicle and discovered that the previous owner still has full access to the vehicle’s bluelink system. This includes remote start/stop, vehicle tracking, horn/lights, and other controls. Despite contacting Hyundai support and proving ownership, they still have not revoked or disabled this access. I am unable to override or reset the system myself. This poses a serious safety concern, because an unauthorized individual can: •remotely disable the vehicle while in motion or parked, •track my exact real-time location, or •manipulate vehicle functions without my knowledge or consent. This is not a one-off issue. Hyundai has no effective system in place to guarantee owner control or revoke prior access, which leaves other buyers vulnerable too. This constitutes a design flaw in connected vehicle control systems, not just an isolated customer service problem.

Other Fuel System problem #16

1. When accelerating, the entire car shudders intermittently but especially after letting off of the accelerator and then reapplying pressure to the accelerator. 2. The entire rear suspension makes popping and clicking noises constantly and seems to "bottom out" when going over the slightest bump or road imperfection. It causes the vehicle to bounce excessively potentially causing it to "fish tail". Discussed with dealer during early scheduled maintenance with little to no concern by them.

Other Fuel System problem #17

The car will start shaking, can’t exceed a certain mpg, and does not speed up. The check engine light comes on. The car is available for inspection. I drive on the freeway and slowing down, and shaking can cause accidents. This a continuous problem.

Other Fuel System problem #18

Cruise control resume function was activated at a low speed after making turn into driveway car automatically tried to resume to 55 mph. The speed at most during the time of activation was less than 10 mph.

Other Fuel System problem #19

Seat belts does not retract and when pulled it remains in that position. Even when I feed the belt back into its place its very loose and unsafe. [driver seatbelt], fuel injectors are causing the car not to accelerate and safety concerns while on freeway with children the car began to shutter/wanting to. Shut off. I used both break and gas at the same time to keep the car running. I was told by Hyundai that the powertrain warranty purchases does not cover that part.

Other Fuel System problem #20

I am writing to formally submit a complaint regarding multiple ongoing and serious issues with my 2022 Hyundai Palisade. These issues not only diminish the performance and reliability of the vehicle but also raise significant safety and quality concerns. Below are the problems I have encountered: 1. Thermostat and coolant system defects: like many other owners of the 2022 Hyundai Palisade, I have experienced problems with the thermostat and coolant system. My vehicle has exhibited signs of overheating, posing risks to the engine’s longevity and safety. 2. Radiator leak: I have identified a radiator leak, which is troubling for a relatively new vehicle. This suggests a defect in the materials or assembly, as this should not be occurring under normal operating conditions. 3. Oil pan and filter housing issues: •the oil pan has developed a crack, which is highly unusual, especially since Hyundai has performed all of my vehicle’s oil changes. This raises concerns about part quality and service handling. •additionally, I have noticed oil leaking from the oil filter housing. This leak not only raises concerns about engine performance but also indicates a potential flaw in the design or installation of the oil filter system. 4. Faulty sensors: my vehicle’s sensors frequently activate without any nearby objects or obstacles. These false alerts are a serious distraction while driving and undermine the effectiveness of the car’s safety features. 5. Key fob malfunctions: while driving, I have repeatedly encountered the “key not in vehicle” warning, despite the key being present inside the car. This issue is not only an inconvenience but also a potential safety risk if it disrupts the vehicle’s operations unexpectedly. The combination of these defects is unacceptable for a vehicle of this age and reputation. These problems suggest significant flaws in manufacturing, design, or maintenance practices that Hyundai should address immediately.

Other Fuel System problem #21

Acceleration is causing misfires or the engine to feel like it “skips” also grumbles or bubbles when I shut down.

Other Fuel System problem #22

While driving at slow speed I took my foot off the gas and applied pressure to the brake pedal. The brakes did not work properly; the brakes engaged and disengaged multiple times and the car continued to lurch forward almost resulting in a collision. This is a critical failure of the braking system and is extremely unsafe. In this scenario, I could have hit the car in front of me. Had I been approaching an intersection, I could have been in a severe collision. I brought the car to the dealership and they could not replicate the issue. They inspected the vehicle and did not provide any information on what could have caused the issue. No component was identified as the cause of the problem. No warning lamps were on prior to or after the incident. During the incident, I was not looking at my dashboard; I was trying to not hit the vehicle in front of me. The car has under 20,000 miles and has been driven for just over a year.

Other Fuel System problem #23

While merging onto a highway, my 2020 Hyundai Palisade abruptly lost all engine power and stalled. This immediate and complete failure occurred at a critical moment, posing an extreme safety risk. All dashboard warning lights illuminated, but provided no specific diagnosis. The vehicle was towed to a dealership, where technicians determined the engine was consuming oil at an abnormal rate, despite a lack of visible leaks. I was instructed to participate in an "oil consumption test," a three-part process that required multiple oil changes and inspections over several months. Each time, the vehicle had burned over a quart of oil—a clear indication of a defect. Despite this evidence, Hyundai denied my warranty claim, accusing me of negligence for being unable to produce oil change records between 29,600 and 46,900 miles. This is a common and unacceptable tactic used to avoid accountability for a widespread issue. My experience is not isolated. Hundreds, if not thousands, of owners of 2020-2023 Hyundai models, including the Palisade, report identical engine oil over-consumption issues and subsequent power loss. This issue is a **severe safety hazard** that can lead to sudden, catastrophic engine failure and potential accidents. Hyundai's refusal to acknowledge this defect and issue a recall is **gross negligence**. They are knowingly allowing thousands of unsafe vehicles to remain on the road. There are currently federal lawsuits against Hyundai for this very issue. The transportation authority must force Hyundai to issue an immediate recall and remedy this critical defect before a tragedy occurs.

Other Fuel System problem #24

Pushing start button vehicle would crank but engine would not start. Had to turn off and restart. No check engine light. I have recently learned that this is happening to other Palisade owners with 23 and 24 model year.

Other Fuel System problem #25

Unknown. Rough idling. Throwing itself into park & turning the engine off but dash stays on like engine is running. Engine, oil, battery, theft light does come on when this happens but go away after starting car. Has been to mechanic multiple times but showing no codes & unable to figure out the cause of it. The car can not just idle either. Has been going on for over 6 months.

Other Fuel System problem #26

The vehicle has an engine flaw, which caused the vehicle engine to stop running while I was driving down a busy highway to take my children to their activities. The traffic behind me nearly slammed into the back of my Hyundai Palisade because the engine cut off without warning. There was no indication of engine trouble, no dashboard lights, no warnings at all. All the preventive maintenance was performed at the dealership, including an oil change only one month prior to this incident. Turns out the engine cut off because of lack of oil. Now I am finding out from the dealership and the manufacturer that the engine does have a known oil consumption issue causing the combustion chamber to need cleaning before and beyond a preventive maintenance schedule. But there still needs to be a warning light or something to inform the driver about the potential engine cut off. It is unsafe to drive, and unfair for the owner to pay for this manufacturer flaw.

Other Fuel System problem #27

My wife and I were driving then all of sudden the engine light would come on and the car would hesitate and go then at anoqtpher time it stopped on my wife we travel often back and forth to the veterans hospital for treatment and we don’t feel safe any longer. We had it at the dealership about three times. Faulkner hyundia. We thank you for your help.

Other Fuel System problem #28

I was waiting at a stop light when the light turned green. I accelerated and the truck sputtered and cut off. The truck started to sound off with alarms and give a warning on the dash for me to put it in s or n. When doing such and attempting to restart the vechicle it continued to cut off and sound off with alerts. This happened a out 9 times in a row. I was sitting on a busy 6 lane roadway where vechicles go well above the speed limit. I have 4 children under the age of 7 including a 6mo old who were very scared. This is dangerous and I am reading on Hyundai owners forums that this issue is not uncommon at all and Hyundai is well aware of the issue. We could have easily been seriously hurt or killed! I just purchased the vechicle and have only 2,3xx miles on it. It's a 2023 Hyundai palasade calligraphy awd white exterior. I've also noticed that the safety sensors seem to do more hard than good. I've had it happen about 5 times now that a car was approaching behind my vechicle and my vechicle would violently come to a abrupt stop, jerk the entire vechicle (scaring everyone in the truck) and it will freeze up not letting me drive. This does a lot more harm than good and again is dangerous. There were times that I needed to drive to get away from the situation and my truck froze up because it thought a vechicle was to close.

Other Fuel System problem #29

In April 2022, we purchased a new 2022 Hyundai Palisade from a dealership due to persistent issues with our previous Hyundai santa fe, which had ongoing engine problems and recalls. After multiple unsuccessful repairs and software updates on the santa fe, we decided to trade it in for the Palisade. Since the purchase, the Palisade has undergone over ten warranty-related repairs. In early 2023, an oil consumption test revealed significant warranty concerns, leading the dealership to keep the vehicle for additional diagnostics. This process lasted nine months and included a full engine replacement. During this time, my husband filed a complaint with Hyundai corporate, seeking a lemon law buyback or an equivalent trade-in. Hyundai corporate denied our request, stating that we did not qualify under the lemon law and refusing to buy back or offer a fair trade-in for the vehicle. In June 2024, after nearly a year of repairs, we retrieved the vehicle, only to experience severe issues shortly afterward. The Palisade began jerking and shaking on the highway, and the check engine light came on. The dealership identified a faulty mass air flow sensor and ordered parts for its repair. They assured us it was safe to drive until the repair was completed. However, the next day, the vehicle displayed the same issues. A diagnostic at auto zone revealed problems with both the air flow sensor and the fuel injector, indicating unsafe driving conditions. We returned the vehicle to Hyundai college station, where we received a loaner car while they conducted repairs. During this period, we were informed of a "computer digital data hack" that prevented the dealership from providing documentation of the services performed. When we picked up the Palisade, we were told that only the mass air flow sensor had been repaired, with no work done on the fuel injector or other issues. Currently our vehicle exhibited engine defaults and the engine light came on. It is at principle Hyundai for repairs.

Other Fuel System problem #30

I was driving on a highway going approximately 80 mph when the car stopped accelerating. It was as if someone switched the car to neutral. The engine completely shut off and I had to scramble to safely pull over to the side of the highway. I had to turn the car off, wait, and turn it back on. I got back onto the highway and rushed towards a dealership. The engine shut down two more times. Each time requiring me to pull over to the side of an incredibly dangerous highway to restart the car. The dealership stated it was an issue with the fuel injector.

Other Fuel System problem #31

Another vehicle t-boned my vehicle on the front left side. We were both traveling around 15 mph. As soon as he struck my vehicle, the air bags were deployed and the car instantly caught fire. The car was on fire before I was at a complete stop. I was able to pry the door open and crawl through a small opening after moving the air bags out of the way. I had to crawl into traffic to be able to escape the fire. If the door had been jammed more severely then I wouldn't have been able to make it out in time before the fire reached me. If my kids had been in the vehicle, then I would not have been able to get them out before the fire got to them. The police determined that the fire started at the engine. My insurance totaled the vehicle and then it was removed from the towing yard and taken to montgomery. There were no prior issues or any warnings/messages before the incident.

Other Fuel System problem #32

I have had multiple injectors fail now on multiple occasions while one almost caused an accident when the vehicle lost power on the highway and shut off due to fuel starvation from bad injectors.
