Vehicle Speed Control problem #1

When I push on the brake the car starts to tug. Feels like it wants to turn off. Happened several times after I got a recall checked. 2 weeks ago same thing was happening and my car all of a sudden turns off. The lights on the dashboard turned on and the emergency brake engaged. I was able to turn the car back in after 3 tries. 6 days later I was driving 50mph and my car suddenly changes shifts on its own. It changed to neutral and then my car shuts off and again the dashboard lights turn on and the emergency brake engages. Again turned on after 3 times. Now the dealership is telling me that its my injectors. And that I had 10% fluid in my gas tank. That will not cause my car to shift gears and 10% is an excessive amount that would mess my car up.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #2

The contact owns a 2026 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while inside a residential parking lot and attempting to park, the vehicle unintendedly accelerated independently while in the drive gear position and crashed into a parked vehicle, where it came to a stop. The contact stated that no air bags deployed in the vehicle. No warning light illuminated. The contact stated no injuries were sustained. No medical attention was required. The contact mentioned she spoke with the insurance company, where it was pending inspection and repairs. A police report was not filed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 6,100.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #3

The contact owns a 2025 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while attempting to come to a complete stop, the transmission unexpectedly upshifted to accelerate independently. While depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to respond as needed. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed; however, the result was unknown. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure had occurred on sever occasions. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 816.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #4

The contact owns a 2025 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while driving with the cruise control set to 72 mph, the vehicle unintendedly decelerated, and the vehicle came to a stop. The accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to respond. There was no warning light illuminated. There was an abnormal red light illuminated, and an alarm was activated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed; however, the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #5

Occasionally, the car's rpms fluctuate wildly, and the engine stalls; the surges in rpm lead to sudden, abrupt acceleration, which poses a safety risk to me and my family. The dealership has been unable to resolve the problem.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #6

I just purchased the new 2024 Palisade. We were traveling about 15-20 mph when approaching a stop sign when I pressed the brakes the abs braking system went on and I could not stop the car. The car seemed to learch forward while the abs braking was going on and the car did not stop in time and we traveled into the middle of the intersection. Good thing the driver coming from the cross street slammed on his brakes and did not hit us. The road we were traveling on was a little rough and bumpy at the point the abs engaged when I was breaking. The braking after the incident seemed to be normal operation.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #7

Constant and consistent alerting (attention) with the (steering and eye alert) icons present. Note: it would be helpful to understand and be told the exact sensor or type of alert (eye camera, steering input, forward camera) that triggered the alert! as it stands, every few seconds to minutes the alert states driver is not attentive. Eventually between 2-8 warnings is unrecoverable and the cruise control shuts itself off after a myriad set of warnings. No matter what is attempted the car ends the cruise control and the driver must maintain control at that point (decelerating from highway/interstate speeds dramatically). Myself and all family drivers experience this immediately after activation. Dealership has reported no trouble after 50 miles of driving (as stated). I have video of this issue and am adding them to youtube (2026 Hyundai Palisade cruise control fail) for others to see. This is unsafe and distracting! the alerts alone are enough to deactivate this (if available, but: it cannot be deactivated!) let alone decelerating from speed for "no good reason" outside of drivers direct control. The only solution I have is to not use cruise control and the safety features (as they are marketed to work) and negate the safety features I purchased the vehicle for.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #8

Entire instrument cluster goes black while driving. Speedometer, odometer, tachometer, turn signal indicators, everything stops working and just a blank screen. Have a video of it happening. Took it to Hyundai and they would not approve tear down to find what is causing and said that it is not a safety concern, yet this would cause the vehicle to fail safety inspection in our state.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #9

I am a 77 year old senior and was driving my 2025 Hyundai tucson highbrid at approx. 70 mph on the highway, then suddenly there was significant shuddering through the tucson with noticeable loss of power. The tucson dropped to 30 mph. After that it would accelerate with significant shuddering. This would repeat several times while driving. In addition there were no malfunctioning indicators, or warning lights. We were never so scared in our lives. This occurred on Thursday , October 2 nd. 2025 at around 1:00 p. M. On highway 355 and 53 traveling northbound.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #10

These vehicles are a hazard to the driver, passengers and others on the road. I have been experiencing regular failures of the brakes, which failed to stop the vehicle when and where intended. Always at speeds below 20mph, uneven pavement/surface, the vehicle experiences strong vibrations in the front, shakes violently and skids forward for a few yards uncontrollably. Brake pedal is unresponsive and must be slammed as hard as possible to have any effect on stopping the vehicle. I have been in near collision situations several times already, where I rolled onto the road with incoming traffic or almost rolled into the intersection. The vehicle is at the dealership for a month if not longer by now, for the third time and Hyundai corporate refuses to provide any solution. Nhtsa and dot must open a proper investigation into this. Hyundai refuses to solve it, has no solution and yet fails to recognize the defect and issue a recall or do anything about it. Fed government must step in ASAP.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #11

Problem statement: instrument cluster has an instrumentation update lag of approximately 10 seconds. The problem may or not be present when you turn the vehicle on. Description of problem: turning on the vehicle. The instrument cluster does not load properly. Different display elements appear in a different sequence than normal. The speedometer remains at zero even though the car is moving. The lag to begin changing the speed indicated is approximately 7-10 seconds. The car can be moving at 60 miles per hour, and the speedometer indicates zero. When the car is stopped the guage may read the prior steadystate speed of the vehicle. For example. Going from 65mph to a stop the speedometer will continue to read 65mph even though it has stopped. Potential safety issues •driver speed awareness: the driver may unknowingly exceed speed limits, exposing themselves to traffic citations or legal liability. •inability to gauge speed accurately may lead to unsafe driving behaviors, such as entering curves or approaching intersections too quickly. •braking and stopping distance misjudgment: if the driver believes they are traveling more slowly than they actuallyare, they may underestimate stopping distances. This can result in rear-end collisions, failure to yield, or inability to stop in time for pedestrians or cross traffic. •acceleration and merging risks: during highway merging or lane changes, the driver may not accelerate appropriately relative to surrounding traffic. A lagging or frozen speedometer can cause misjudgments of closing speeds, leading to sideswipe or merging collisions. •entering a curve: navigation-based Smart cruise control might expect you to slow down for a curve or exit. But if speed is misrepresented, it might delay braking or deceleration, causing the vehicle to approach the curve too fast, increasing risk of lane drift or rollover. Dealerhas been excellent to work with. They are aware of the issue and are recitifying the problem.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #12

Abs kicks in with even the slightest bump. Had an incident a couple weeks ago where I went over a bump while leaving a store and the car almost did not stop before hitting oncoming traffic. Have had issues for 10 months with the car not accelerating properly or shifting properly. Have tried to drive in every mode (Smart, sport, comfort) and nothing makes it better. I have had the vehicle to the shop 3 times. First 2 times said no problem. The third time stated my rear seal is leaking and transmission is leaking as well as 4x4 coupler needs replaced. I feel unsafe to drive in this vehicle with me and my children.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #13

Abs is malfunctioning on gravel slowing the stopping speed significantly. Stopping on uneven grounds is risky. Appointment made with dealership to review system. No warning light was on prior to during or after. This has occurred many times.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #14

Instrument cluster has stopped working. Issue has been confirmed with matt bowers Hyundai in gulfport, ms. Similar to the TSB 22-01-058h. Instrument cluster fails to display rpms, temperature, speed, and fuel level. Auto bright headlights fail, seatbelt warning lights fail. Cruise control becomes inactive. Also have noticed this to cause parking sensors to become inaccurate.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #15

My vehicle has an issue with the anti lock braking system on uneven surfaces. On several occasions since buying the vehicle earlier this year, I've observed the issue of chattering or severe on-off reaction of the abs to gradual braking onnuneven surfaces. I have not had the issue verified by a dealer yet, but plan to soon. The malfunction has extended stopping distances significantly. I have not noticed warning lights during or after the malfunction, likely because I'm focused on safely bringing the vehicle to a stop during the malfunction. My vehicle can be made available for inspection.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #16

Getting out of a parking lot onto the road with my family in the car. The car would not break in spite of hitting the breaks before making the turn onto the road, the oncoming vehicle stopped int time to prevent a t-bone crash . After looking online , seems like a known issue with this model and the Hyundai will not acknowledge it. Please take action.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #17

Yesterday [xxx] the car basically failed to stop when I braked and was nearly hit by the approaching vehicle. I immediately called the service dept of the dealer and taking it in for diagnostics. No warning lights ever popped on. So what happened is I was getting on to the road from the parking lot and started braking to wait for the approaching cars to pass but instead of stopping all I got was vibrations and shaking all while not stopping. The car got almost half body length out on the road making the approaching cars swerve and honk at me. The only way I managed to stop it was stomping on the brakes as hard as I could, which worked. But it freaked me out and sent my kid in tears cuz the stopping was so violent. I am aware of the abs issue with these models and experienced it 5-6 times before but never it was a near collision situation and especially with the kid on board. I called the dealer right away and am taking the car in for diagnostics. I told them about the issue and history of similar events but all I heard back was “OH, sorry it happened, come in for a diag. We have never heard of it. ” we all know by now about the faulty abs system in Palisade and the class action was just filed against Hyundai last month. So I wonder what will it take for them to admit the problem and issue a remedy. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Vehicle Speed Control problem #18

When using lane assist the vehicle is pulled into other lanes, including into oncoming traffic. This happens even when the vehicle is centered in the lane. This is extremely dangerous because it can cause an accident. When using cruise control, the lane assist comes on automatically which is extremely dangerous because the vehicle is going at high speeds on the highway. The dealership is aware of the situation. Both the mechanic and the salesman have driven the vehicle with me and experienced the problem. Additionally, the salesman and I drove another 2025 Palisade and the lane assist problem was present in that vehicle also.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #19

Abs system engages when it shouldn’t, causing stopping problems. Caused my wife to run out in middle of intersection and not get stopped in time. This seems to be a common problem with this vehicle and nobody knows how to fix it.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #20

Randomly, the second row seat belts will unbuckle by themselves, and the seat belt warning will randomly go off indicating the seat belt was unbuckled all the while no one was sitting in the seat. At random, while using the adaptive cruise control, the car will brake by itself, when there is no car close enough in front to activate the braking system. A few times, while using the adaptive cruise control, the system speed up for no reason. The only way to get the car to stop speeding up was to disengage the cruise control. Braking did not help.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #21

The speedometer occasionally would not work. Typically all other dash features would and I could get speed through digital reading. Today, none of the dash reading work. My speedometer has the dial at 155. The digital reads 0, gas shows e, miles to empty remained at 260 for the over 10 mile drive, ramps as well as coolant didn’t register and were at 0 and c. This is a hazard as it is a safety requirement to follow the speed limit when driving. This placed myself and others in danger. You are welcome to inspect this. When I have called the dealer previously for this concern, I was told that this would need to be covered by myself. A simple internet search shows that this is a more common issue than it should be.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #22

[xxx] at [xxx] (palisade was in Smart mode). I made a u-turn and coming out of the turn I stepped in the gas and nothing happened; however, the engine was racing and held steady at 3,000 rpms. The vehicle did not respond after multiple attempts at stepping on the gas pedal or simply stepping off the gas pedal - the engine/transmission was racing loud at 3,000 rpms for about 7-10 seconds until the vehicle corrected itself. This is obviously a safety issue since I had no ability to accelerate and could have been rear-ended. I went to autozone and ran obd diagnostics and nothing showed up. I then made appt at dealership with the description above and they recorded the incident as "a hesitation issue", then said it was due to the auto-start being on! what!? I was not happy and made them read the description again and now writing this NHTSA safety issue. I feel like they purposely mis-recorded the issue and tried to send me on my way. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Vehicle Speed Control problem #23

Sputtering when it is stopped and driving. It then cut off when stopped at a light multiple times and check engine light came on.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #24

Driving with adaptive cruise control engaged in 45mph zone. Without intervention the cruise setting jumped to 90mph. I was able to press the pause bar to cancel it. Next I was able to re engage cruise normally without a repeat issue. There's been no outside inspection, or assessment. So far it's happened only once. The runaway speed was controllable. We're driving with extra care.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #25

I had just pulled into a (handicapped) parking space at my bank in marana az. As I prepared to stop with the brake still depressed, the car suddenly surged, with the tach going to 5000rpm. The vehicle jumped the sidewalk (with rear wheels making drag marks on the sidewalk. Vehicle shot up the slight rise , hit and demolished a concrete bench and some plants and was heading toward the main entrance when I shut the engine off with the ignition key. The car stopped less than 10 feet from the bank entrance. The car came close to going through the entrance shattering the glass doors and possibly injuring bank customers and employees. There was no warning, but this car has had 3 or 4 sudden engine surges before - about one every 1 1/2 years. Hyundai service has checked and denied any problems. On line queries indicate the surging problems are not uncommon. They happen without warning and result in serious injury and damage to people and property. Hyundai is stonewalling. Other drivers have similar events occur for sudden unintended acceleration (sua) and suggest problems with the electronic throttle control (etc) including throttle position sensors. Our Palisade has less than 40,000 miles on it and has been well maintained, but Hyundai people refuse to acknowledge any problems - my wife and I consider that this car is a potential death machine.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #26

My 2020 Hyundai Palisade slipped into neutral while slowing down in traffic. Was able to quickly pull over, brake and put back into drive. Happened 3 more times while slowing down for turns on my way home. All happened under 15 mph and had a slight grinding sound when placed back into park, drive then accelerating. Plan to take it to the Hyundai dealership tomorrow, but scared to drive it!.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #27

2024 Palisade is not responding when I accelerate. I feel the SUV not responding and other cars were close to hit me from behind.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #28

During the daytime, you cannot see any of the graphics on the steering wheel switches. How am I supposed to know what button does what? how am I supposed to control the cruise control settings if I am pushing the wrong buttons. At night they are illuminated so I can see them better, but during the day the graphics are basically invisible. I'm thinking this is only an issue on the calligraphy night trim levels. This has been an issues since we picked up the vehicle.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #29

This incident occured on 4-2-2024, while driving to the doctor with my newborn daughter. Our 2023 Hyundai Palisade limited did not respond/accelerate/move when pressing on the gas pedal. The engine/transmission seemed to malfunction when trying to pull off from a green traffic light. There was loss of power and the Palisade would not move. This vehicle was purchased brand new and it is a serious safety concern that the vehicle can malfunction when attempting to accelerate.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #30

When driving over bumps, potholes, or railroad tracks with the breaks being pressed, the brakes would pulsate and causing vehicle to stop at a further distance. Due to taking longer time to slow down and stop, I almost hit another vehicle in front of me.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #31

Hyundai Palisade 2023 engine stalling / won't accelerate in snow/icy roads. I have now experienced this engine stalling issue several time on my Hyundai Palisade calligraphy 2023. It has only happened in "snow mode" so far. The car basically dies, no acceleration, no matter how hard you accelerate or floor it. I called the dealership named "great lakes Hyundai" in dublin, ohio and they said they basically can't do anything since this issue is intermittent. I will be filling a complaint with NHTSA and other state and regulatory agencies. Hyundai needs to fix this issue before people start dying on the snowy/icy roads. These are expensive cars and should not be dying on the roads like this, plus this is a very dangerous situation where the car just dies and does not respond to acceleration. No warning lights of any kind display on the dashboard. You put car in "eco mode", it starts driving. The car never lose traction when this issue occurs. Doing some research online, seems like lots of other Hyundai Palisade and kia telluride owners are experiencing this issue and Hyundai/kia are not doing anything to remedy this issue. . Read more...

Vehicle Speed Control problem #32

I was operating the vehicle in “snow” mode. I had made a stop and attempted to turn onto the highway. The vehicle started off ok it seemed for conditions but when I went to accelerate the vehicle had no power despite pushing all the way down on the peddle. The vehicle continued to slow as I was trying to get pulled over and figure out what was going on. We maybe made it 50 yards max before the car was at almost a full stop. Suddenly the acceleration kicked back in and we were able to go. The car acted like the bumper cars at the fair where you can’t go at all and then suddenly the power kicks in. Luckily there was no traffic coming behind me otherwise we could have been rear ended at highway speeds. Very unsafe condition and someone could easily be injured or killed because of this if they were to get hit. Had I been turning left I might not have even made it across the road.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #33

Sporadically, when in snow mode, the car refuses to accelerate at all. Moderate pressing of the gas pedal or completely flooring it, the car will not respond and accelerate. The only way to fix this is to change it out of snow mode. This does not happen 100% of the time when in snow mode. It is sporadic. This has happened multiple times to me and it always seems to occur when in the middle of making a turn, while accelerating, while in snow mode. The car will accelerate to about 25 or 30 mph and then all power is completely lost. The tachometer does not show any change and the gauge that shows acceleration power being sent to the individual wheels, at 0. This is extremely dangerous and has almost caused me to get in multiple accidents.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #34

The contact owns a 2023 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle continued to surge forward. The contact stated that the failure had occurred on several occasions while at a stop light. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 16,000.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #35

Hyundai Palisade sel 2020 frequently stops the speedometer ,rpm meter, fuel gauge ,lane departure. This may be due to defection instrument cluster,a recall should be immediately made as it might cause accident as speed of a vehicle cannot be knowing and also the lane departure is never turned on when this happen ,also driver won’t know how much is the fuel remaining . Attaching a photo.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #36

Both digital and analog speedometer also the tachometer shows 0mph even through the car is being driven , also the fuel gauge shows empty even though fuel is full.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #37

Update to complaint #11631235 at time of original complaint submission, I was unable to figure out how to share the video documentation of the vehicle speedomoter defect. Having since figured it out, I want to share this evidence with the NHTSA.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #38

The contact owns a 2024 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the forward collision avoidance system erroneously activated causing the vehicle to abruptly stop. During the failure there were no other vehicles or objects nearby. Additionally, while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would not properly accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. In addition, while making left turns there was a popping sound coming from the front of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed and determined that the front differential was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 250.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #39

When using the steering wheel paddles to manually shift gears while driving roads in hills, the vehicle will lose power and slow down. Have to pull over and shut off engine. On engine restart, engine power is back and problem is resolved.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #40

Received this message “a possible condition with your engine control system ha’s been detected. A full system check is recommended to be done when convenient. Please contact your local dealership to schedule an appointment. ” at only 2,153 miles on my new 2023 Hyundai Palisade calligraphy.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #41

Analog speedometer needle gets stuck at a certain speed or increases beyond actual speed without limit or displays incorrect speed or remains stuck at a certain speed when parked. Digital speedometer functions as intended.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #42

All vehicle safety sensors going off at once. Speedometer indicated car is going 0mph while car is clearly being driven.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #43

My car would not accelerate when the gas pedal was pushed. It was in snow mode and we had to switch modes to make it go. My wipers also stopped working when snow and ice collected at the base. We had to remove all of the snow and ice before they would work. It was actively snowing and this was a a real safety issue.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #44

While driving my hyndua Palisades on the southern state parkway at 55mph, my car shut off. When it happened, I didn't know what was going on. All of the lights on the vehicle went off, and then it shut off while I was still driving it. My 11yr old son and I could have been killed. When is Hyundai going to address the significant problem? my son no longer wants to ride in my car because he has been traumatized by this incident, and I cannot blame him. I have avoided driving on major highways because of this issue. I should not be experiencing this problem with a car that isn't even 3yrs old. How isn't anyone stepping in to ensure Hyundai takes care of this life threating problem? what is Hyundai waiting for, someone to lose their life while driving their vehicle? if you are thinking of getting a Hyundai, dont.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #45

The vehicle accelerated 4 times on its own to the point where I got scared. In addition, it shakes so bad between speeds changes. At first, I thought I got hit by another vehicle from the back. Moreover, over the past two (2) months, the steering wheel has been making some noise as if a plastic bag was being moved. I hope this description makes a sense in regard to the steering wheel situation.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #46

Sudden powertrain failure. Car started to decelerate on its own. The car started to vibrate when accelerator was pressed. Car was in high speed and could have stalled and the passengers could have been killed. Hyundai has refused to honor the powertrain warranty and has attributed the entire transmission failure to bad gas which is very very unlikely. Have contacted Hyundai USA and got no substantial help. Hudson Hyundai is the dealer and is notorious in their treatment of customers. The company needs to issue a recall of 2021 pallisades before a major accident.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #47

While in operation speedometer was not working. Zero indication on mph gage and needle. Erratic operation. On sometimes, off zero sometimes. Both gages. Took video as proof. Took to dealer but tech unable to replicate condition so no repairs done. I feel vehicle is unsafe when the gage is zero because I have no idea of my speed.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #48

The vehicle is shutting off while in transit. All warning lights come on and the parking break engages. Dealership says no error codes recorded and can’t recreate. Issue captured on video.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #49

The cars gives warning warning and high beeping sounds to shift and car engine to p and then shuts of randomly. Happended to me twicw at 65mph and 35mph. Also the car randomly gives worng way notifications even on the perfectly straight road over and over again.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #50

Vehicle sped up/kept going towards the traffic ahead while on adaptive cruise control. Vehicle also started showing “radar disabled” warnings & has continued intermittently (on a daily basis) for about the past 3 weeks. The “forward collision avoidance disabled” warnings keep popping up even while not on cruise control. Nothing physical is blocking the radar. The on-board computer does not record any errors & the dealership claims they can’t see the error (apparently the computer doesn’t record/store the errors). I have pictures & videos of the errors & reported to the manufacturer.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #51

I approached the intersection slowly and stopped completely to turn right. There were a couple of vehicles in front of mine. I pushed the 'auto hold' button while waiting on the red light. A second later, I felt the car moving on its own and stepped on the brakes. The car did not stop and went forward and crashed into the vehicle in front of me. My vehicle did not stop after the initial collision and accelerated more on its own and went forward. I pushed the 'park' button to stop the car but it did not work and the vehicle kept moving forward fast and hit another car. It still kept moving fast until it hit other things. The car stopped after it went through a wire fence and hit a tree. The brake did not work at all. The car never stopped once it started moving on its own. Forward collision warning never came when it was approaching the first vehicle in front of mine on its own. The 'check engine' light was on for 3 days and disappeared on its own about 1 month prior to the accident. I tried to take it to the service center immediately but the earliest appointment I could get was in June. The service adviser at Hyundai service said there was nothing that they can do since the warning light was not on when we asked for a service check on 6/11/22.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #52

Speedometer stopped working and went to zero mph June 1, 2022. Vehicle has only 2,800 miles on it. Shutting off and restarting the car did not solve this. Simultaneously, the car compass indicated wrong direction; a safety announcement came over the infotainment system repeatedly telling us we were driving the wrong way on the street (we were not). No other indicators of a malfunction came on and the car's internal diagnostics said all was normal despite this problem. Went immediately to Hyundai dealer who confirmed the problem. Dealer fixed it by disconnecting the car's battery and reconnecting it a few minutes later. Safety issue is that suddenly we could not tell if we were exceeding the speed limit or driving too slow.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #53

On my way to work on the interstate with the cruise control set at 80mph a few weeks ago, the cruise control turned off automatically and all the warning lights came on within the dash. I pulled over, but the car seemed to be running fine otherwise. For the next few days the lights would be on or off and sometimes cruise control work and sometimes it didn't. I also noticed the parking break would engage automatically almost with every time I stop, which was also rare. I took the vehicle in for service and they were perplexed by the situation and had me leave my car for a few days. They thought they had it all fixed, but when I picked it up, within 24 hours, the lights came on again. I had noticed some break pressure issues when starting car up with this issue, but never a huge concern, until I backed out of my girlfriends driveway down a hill within 30 seconds of starting the car. With my foot on the pedal, the break disengaged for 2-3 seconds as I drifted down towards the street in reverse, and the abs starting pumping until I was able to depress the brake and get the car to stop (probably drifted 10-15 feet). Thank goodness no one behind me. I drove the vehicle in for service immediately as they suggested if lights remained on, so they could run diagnostics. They ordered a wheel sensor, which took a few weeks to get in while I still drove the vehicle with the abs causing me some concern over those 2-3 weeks. Just yesterday before my service to get wheel sensor changed today, I was out picking up food and driving through a flat parking lot within 30 seconds of starting the vehicle. The same issue with abs happened that I had before and I started going through a stop sign and pedestrian walkway. Luckily no one coming and brakes kicked in again after 5 feet of having no brake control at low speed. Wheel sensor replaced today and lights off. Everything seems to be working. I'm extremely concerned about this safety issue and potential accidents, injuries, deaths!.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #54

We purchased our 2020 Hyundai Palisade limited six weeks ago. Currently has 3000 miles. The blind spot collision warning system (bscw) has a malfunction and stops working after driving a few miles on both highway and city/country roads. There are no cars or trees/obstacles around the car when it deactivates. Restarting the car resets the bscw system, but it malfunctions again in a few miles. When the system is deactivated, we cannot turn off blind spot active assist--it gives a controller error. We tried shutting off the bscw system indicator in the heads-up display. That does not fix the problem.
