Tl-the contact owns a 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe. The contact stated that while driving at 15 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. On a second occasion, the vehicle stalled and all the warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The VIN was not available. Vehicle stalled at any speed while driving. Intermittently vehicle would restart. Vehicle was towed to the dealer on two separate occasions, but problem recurred.

Car stalled after starting and would not restart. Engine check by dealership revealed waterlogged air filter and non-oil liquid in the oil resevoir. Dealership concludes engine flooded with water (it wasn't); other (non-dealership) expert mechanics suspect cracked cylinder liner.

When coming to a stop light vehicle would stall intermittently, upon restart it would not exceed 10-15 mph for about 1 mile. Then, it would not shift until 40 mph was reached. Vehicle was taken to dealer 6 times, catalytic converter was replaced twice, did not remedy the problem. Part of crankshaft was replaced, vehicle has not stalled since.
