The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership to have the strip replaced. The contact was concerned that because of the failure, the windshield could have become separated while the contact was driving. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.

There was no warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact immediately exited the vehicle and inspected underneath the hood, but there was no smoke or flames.
