The wiring harness which connects to the braking systems down hill and track, and abs breaking and warning light of oncoming cars when passing wires which are made of soybean based causing wiring to be eaten by rodents. Second time to fix another $55 dollars. This is scaring me when driving.
Steering locked up, difficult to turn. Warning steering light came on and brake warning light. Down hill warning light came on. It was a blessing that I was during only 30mph.
About 20 minutes after parking my vehicle at an office location, it caught on fire. I could see the fire by the right front wheel, between the tire and the body; smoke was coming from all around the hood. We put out the fire with a fire extinguisher. We could see damaged wires. I had noticed warning lights on my display panel when I got into my vehicle to start driving. I called clay cooley Hyundai of rockwall and informed them of the messages: beeping followed by flashing messages about abs, esc, & downhill brake control; plus down below were two red circles (exclamation mark in one and the letter p in the other) and the word brake below. I asked Hyundai if the car was safe to drive and they said yes. I proceeded to my 12 noon appointment in richardson, TX. About 20 mins after parking the car, the fire was noticed by an employee. The day before this, on tue, 01-29-2019, I had noticed 3 amber warning lights (abs, esc & dbc). I called Hyundai, informed them of this and made an appointment for thur Jan 31, 2019 at 9:30 a. M.
Incident occurred on I-65. My husband and I were traveling home from a quick road trip. While passing another vehicle at 75mph, our sante made a weird noise, then loud sound and went dead. My husband fought to control the car, barely avoided a possible fatal crash. We called Hyundai roadside assistance and was told they only tow 47 miles. The nearest dealer was 50 miles away. We were left stranded, no service or tow truck from Hyundai showed up. Had to call family to come get us (nearly 3 hours away). We had to rent a uhaul auto transport and truck to recover our car on the side of I-65, heading to our hometown, we were stranded in verbena, al. Hyundai finally towed car to dealership once in hometown, was told by service tech that our car had "catastrophic engine damage and a new engine has been ordered, at no charge, due to our car was part of the recall. Was told we "might" be reimbursed for our incurred expense of having to tow the car ourselves. We purchased the car brand new, with an added roadside assistance package, which we were assured we'd never be stranded, which proved a useless sales ploy. 3 disabled persons and a highway patrol officer had to manually load the car onto the auto transport, one of which fell on the road and cut their knee. Why is additional roadside assistance offered when the dealership neglected to inform us that there was only a 47 mile towing radius. We were assured that "we'd be covered no matter where we might travel. We have a rental, which resulted in us paying a deposit out of our own pocket, "that should be refunded upon return of the rental". Full reimbursement and or a new car should be offered, due to the catastrophic engine damage (the term the Hyundai service tech used) that occurred to our 2014 Santa Fe sport with less than 53,000 miles. Thanks Hyundai roadside assistance for leaving us stranded.
Engine started to make clicks and car immediately stalled getting off the freeway. Had to be stopped, parked before I regained engine power. This happened around 22,800 miles. Happened again on the way to dealer and with dealer service staff. Diagnosed as defective turbo assembly that was replaced. Shortly after I picked the car from the shop, I noticed same clicking noise again and car also accelerated on it's own when my foot was not on the break. This happened intermittently. The car returned to the shop and I was told that there is damage in the engine and the engine was replaced. When I went to pick up the car I noticed oil dripping below it. Car was inspected again and I was informed that the transmission assembly is cracked and will need to be replaced. The car is still at the shop.
When making a left turn from a stop or rolling stop and you press hard on the accelerator the engine does not rev up and the hesitation of a second or two can leave you stranded in a lane of traffic.
At hi speeds I feel stearing wheel starts vibrating. Have complain twice with hundai dealership but they claim no computer problems detected. I had to buy new tires & alignment done to no avail. Have stirring wheel on sport mode to correct problem a little by have to drive with both hands all now. Have only 12,000 left in car hope ot insurance. Hope company realize they got a problem with stearing wheel. Hope I don't have an accident because they don't realize they have a big problem.
Exactly 2,000 miles after my 60,000 mile warranty expired, my car experienced a failure of the air bag control module which also impacted steering, yaw/stability and other vehicle safety features. The warning lights came on while I was starting the vehicle but I encountered no issues when driving it 25 minutes to a dealership to have it checked out (fortunately). It took from 2 pm April 4 to 4 pm April 6 to get the necessary repairs done (the part had to be special ordered). It was not covered by either the expired 60,000 mile warranty or the extra ($1,500) 100,000 mile warranty (I was told that that warranty did not cover safety issues).
Driving and power steering went out, dash panel lights went haywire. I could barely turn the steering wheel to get the car off of the road. I am not at all sure my wife could have turned the wheel. Attempted to jump-start the car - not work. First time driving at 35 mph in a subdivision in al. Pulled over, would not start, towed to dealer who recharged battery and entire electrical system checked said it was fixed. Tried to jump-start the car and this did not work. Few weeks later exact same thing happened in ky. I was doing 63 mph on highway with 50 cubic yard coal trucks coming by. If happened to my wife I am very concerned as to a rather bad accident. Auto transmission locked up and could not get it out of gear. Tow people jimmied the shift to load on the tow truck. Vehicle towed to another dealer where battery replaced and entire electrical system checked said it was fixed. We bought the car new and have had three batteries in 2 years and 4 months. I do not let my wife drive the car except around town. I feel this is truly an accident waiting to happen. Do not know what caused the issue and apparently Hyundai does not know either.
When making a right or left turn from a stop into traffic and the SUV hits a small patch of snow, pothole or bump in the street, the stability control will curtail the vehicle acceleration for a few seconds. This has caused a near miss rearend collision into my vehicle on three occasions. There is a button to shut the acceleration control feature off but it must be pushed each time you start the vehicle. My opinion is that the stability control sensor is far too sensitive and / or the computer software needs to be revised.
Before 50,000 miles had to purchase 4 new tires 1 blowout a&unusual vibrating from tires 4 new tires before 50,000 miles!I'm a widow of a veteran&lost my only son!a/c went out 2 years ago! Driver's seat lurches forward and backwards at random times while driving. This happens regardless of speed, brake/ acceleration/ cruise control, type of road, direction or movement etc. Often times while the car is parked or in motion, the seat will not move at all in any direction. Also, the abs, traction control, and downhill light have all been turning on and off at random, and, while parked and without provocation, my speedometer needle began jumping. Less important, the driver's seat a/c does not work consistently which leads me to believe this is an electrical malfunction, however, the multiple times I have taken this vehicle into the "service center", the mechanics said they could not recreate the problem and sent my broken car home, so the official reason is unknown. I am only 5'2" so this has caused me considerable problems with suddenly not being able to reach the pedals, and has almost resulted in numerous accidents.
Hi, I bought a Hyundai Santa Fe 2014 on December last year and a few months ago it's started to have a problem with the bsd (blind spot detector). For some reason it's just stop working from a few hours and it's turn on again by itself. I can read in the dash screen the warning (bsd no working). I make an appointment with Hyundai service center but they can't help me because the car don't give to them any code regarding this problem. For me this is a big issue because sometime works and sometimes not, this can lead me to an accident. Typically this happen when the car is in motion.
