Six problems related to exterior lighting have been reported for the 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe. The most recently reported issues are listed below. Please also check out the statistics and reliability analysis of the 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe based on all problems reported for the 2015 Santa Fe.
My 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe with approximately 101,000 miles has experienced gradual deterioration of both low beam headlights. The light output is extremely dim and unsafe for night driving. Visibility is significantly reduced, making it difficult to see lane markings, pedestrians, and road hazards. The issue developed gradually over time and affects both headlights equally, suggesting an internal projector or reflector failure rather than a bulb issue. Bulbs have been checked/replaced, but brightness remains poor. This condition creates a serious safety hazard when driving at night. I am requesting investigation into potential headlight projector or reflector defects.
The blue link on all older models is not being supported which cause the screen to become stuck on loading screen. This is a visibility and safety issue because it cause blue link to reload and bright lights to flash as you are driving at night every time it reloads. It is a distraction from the road if you shut it off completely you have no access to radio or sound. The issue it cannot be fixed unless you pay for manual update but you have to it working to actually get the update to run. There are many forums discussing the issue.
Low beam headlights are very dim. I have taken it in to be checked and have had the bulbs switched out numerous times. It does not help. They said the inside of the headlight assembly is flaking off and that both of the headlight assemblies need replaced. I can not afford to do that! it is a defect on the inside of the assembly its self. I have to drive with my brights on if I drive it after dark. It is very dangerous.
Fuel consumed more , lightening in back not clear , engine sound ,.
Somebody has finally died over this defect, now will something be done about it? I have owned 2 Hyundai santafe's a 2013 and now a 2015. The headlamp system on both cars, using halogen lamps, is inferior, unacceptable, for Volvo, deadly. This problem is not limited to the Hyundai car brand, but many brands using similar projector halogen headlamp systems. Driving anywhere in like equipped vehicles the low beam headlamps fail to provide enough light ahead of the vehicle to avoid an obstacle coming out of the shadows. Case in point, the uber Volvo pedestrian accident. Having driven professionally over 2. 5 million miles in my lifetime, my experience with this projector technology, it is my professional opinion the accident could not have been avoided. Because the lamp system on the Volvo, my two Hyundai's, fail to provide adequate lighting allowing the driver to see, and avoid, obstacles. I am attaching screen shots of a 7 second video related to the uber accident. Just over 3 seconds in, with a little over 1 second to react, the pedestrian is barely visible. The headlamps only illuminate to the end of the 2nd white stripe, on the left, in front of the Volvo. The same is true of both Hyundai's I have owned with a similar headlamp system. Studies have shown, with out any doubt, it takes a little over 2 seconds for a human to react, under ideal situations, to a unanticipated see and avoid driving event. In this exemplar the driver had barely more than 1 second to react, once his brain processed things, and then told his extremities to do something. Therefore, due to inadequate lighting, this accident in no way was avoidable, now somebody is dead, and you do nothing. I have looked for a way to illustrate this dangerous issue, this defines it in spades. Finally if the Volvo had the hid, or led lamps, for the defect to exist there, is more appalling.
While driving, all warning lights on the dash came on, and the gas range continuously fluctuated as if I was putting gas in the car, but it was leaking somewhere. The speedometer also stopped working. This is the second time this has happened since September.
