Equipment problem #1

Rear bucket seat crushes occupant of seat belt is not buckled. Rear facing car seat is crushed posing huge risk to baby.

Equipment problem #2

The vehicle experienced a significant failure of the body control module (bcm). This resulted in multiple electrical malfunctions, including don't detected the key, despite the low mileage (12,000 miles), the electronic systems have proven unreliable, and the vehicle is currently undergoing warranty repairs at the dealership. "the sudden failure of electrical components could lead to a crash or leave the driver stranded in an unsafe location. I am concerned about the long-term reliability and safety of this vehicle’s electronic architecture. " after arriving home and shifting the vehicle into 'park', the car began to roll backward on its own. The vehicle continued to move until it struck my garage door. This incident occurred unexpectedly after the transmission was supposedly secured in park. It was necessary to apply the brakes to make it stop. Although the physical damage was minor (scratches), this unintended movement represents a severe safety risk that could have resulted in a serious accident or injury. " I've also noticed that it makes strange shifts in the transmission when going down a steep hill.

Equipment problem #3

2024 Hyundai Santa Fe purchased new in may 2024. On three occasions since December 2025, while driving, the dashboard went completely black as if the vehicle shut off. The Hyundai startup logo then reappeared while the vehicle was still moving, and the vehicle lost acceleration. The most recent event occurred at highway speed, approximately 65-70 mph, requiring us to coast to the shoulder. No warning lights appeared before the event. A video of the most recent incident is available. Dealer inspected vehicle but could not duplicate the problem and reported no error codes.

Equipment problem #4

I put my vehicle in park but it kept going anyway and hit a car in front of me.

Equipment problem #5

The in-cabin camera system is having non stop issues. I have had this car since 2024 and have never experienced issues with this system like I have for the past month or so. I don't know if this is because of the latest update that was done on 11-26-25 or not. The system constantly goes off telling me to keep my eyes on the road when I am staring at the car in front of my while I am driving. It dings and displays the message on the dash which is a major distraction while driving. On the 8th of January I decided to count how many times it goes off. On all these drives I was only driving for 20-25 minutes at a time. On the 8th the system went off 26 times, on the 9th it went off 18 times and on the 12th it went off 27 times. That is excessive and very dangerous as if I turn the system off in the car it will disable the safety features on the car because it can’t detect my eyes at that time even though I am staring at the car in front of me. It does it in any type of weather, any time of day, and if I’m wearing my prescription glasses, sunglasses or anything. I took it to the dealer and they couldn’t duplicate the issue so they weren’t able to fix it as per Hyundai they have to duplicate the issue for them to fix it.

Equipment problem #6

Hyundai - daw - driver attention warning / forward attention warning system this issue warrants immediate consideration for a recall. Despite wearing glasses, sunglasses, or no glasses, the problem persists. I occasionally remove my glasses while driving, and the warning continues to sound. This occurs regardless of the time of day, weather conditions, or whether I am sitting upright or reclining. The warning randomly activates and deactivates, sometimes without any intervention. Occasionally, I simply allow the warning to sound without taking any action, and it remains active for a few seconds or until it triggers a warning that the system will be turned off, at which point it deactivates. I have attempted various troubleshooting methods, such as keeping my eyes open, adjusting my seating position, wearing and removing my glasses, and tilting them to minimize glare. None of these methods have proven effective in preventing the warning from activating or in making it deactivate. This is a persistent problem. Hyundai dealerships initially informed me that the warning might be an annoyance and their response was to simply refrain from using it. However, if a basic feature like cruise control in a 2024 & 2025 model is rendered unusable due to a design flaw (which this certainly is), it constitutes a clear violation of safety standards and should be addressed through a recall. The incessant alerts are highly disruptive and can be quite frustrating. For instance, driving with an arm in the 12 o’clock position triggers a warning, while wearing polarized sunglasses also results in an alert. The presence of a setting to disable the warning is a welcome feature, but the system’s persistent alerts can be overwhelming. The alerts continue even after taking a break. It is distracting and a safety hazard. Drivers should be able to adjust the sensitivity of the feature to turn off this feature. Currently, there is no way to disable or temporarily disable this feature.

Equipment problem #7

Something is wrong with the front windshield. Since I bought this SUV the last year, I've noticed that the wipers are very noisy and the windshield gets dirty very frequently. The last week, the windshield cracked for no apparent reason. I called the dealer and their response was that it's not covered by the warranty and I have to claim it from my car insurance. They also have no explanation for the wiper problem and the stains that appear on the windshield.

Equipment problem #8

The turn signal is hidden by steering wheel. I always keep lights on auto. When using to turn left my fingers turns the switch from auto lights to off position and always think it's on auto. Two times while driving at night use left turn signal and turns my lights off. Very scary because immediately tried to find side of road rarely drive at night now.

Equipment problem #9

While driving my 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe on the interstate, the “keep your eyes on the road” alert repeatedly activated even though the driver was attentive and looking forward. After multiple warnings, the system escalated to a message that the vehicle was about to be disabled, which created a serious safety concern. This happened even though the driver attention warning feature is disabled in the vehicle’s settings. The issue appears to be caused by the steering-column driver monitoring camera system falsely detecting inattention. The constant alerts are distracting, and the threat of the vehicle disabling features while driving at highway speeds is dangerous.

Equipment problem #10

The transmission was replaced and I picked up my vehicle on 16 September. 23 September, all of the transmission lights, warning, lights and check engine light came on. The vehicle is being towed back to the dealership with transmission issues again.

Equipment problem #11

Everytime with acc active it activates the driver attention camera system which never works in sunlight camera reads wrong and disable acc while driving on freeway all the time due to sun reflection cant even wear polairized glasses acc never works.

Equipment problem #12

Driver assistant cruise and steering components relating to the warning system. The system notification is turned off in the settings; however, the issue overrides the setting. Cruise control and steering assist shuts off after brief but consistant warning to keep my eyes on the road. My eyes are on the road. I can do nothing to stop it from warning. It may happen up to 20 times in a distance of 9-20 miles. This has occured since purchase and occurs everytime the car is driven. While passing on interstate highways the system may shut off. Acceleration stops, steering assist shuts off. Four dealerships have seen the vehicle and a claim was issued by Hyundai America. A service manager finally, after many request, rode with me after a year of many service appointment resulting in a change of passenger facing camera. No change occurred in the system, it continues to behavior the same a prior to the camera change.

Equipment problem #13

Vehicle information: 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe hybird sel VIN: [xxx] purchased date: [xxx] (less than one year) mileage at incident: 12,753 incident date: [xxx] dealer: kengarff downtown Hyundai summary of problem: I am filing this complaint because of a serious safety concern caused by clear dealership negligence and potential engine failure. During a routine service, the dealership failed to add engine oil, but recorded in the service invoice that it was added. I unknowingly drove the vehicle 3–5 miles without oil, and multiple dtc error codes (p052400, p001100, p001400) appeared. The oil warning light, which should have alerted me, did not activate. Although a later borescope inspection stated there was “no immediate damage,” since then, the vehicle has shown: significant loss of power and acceleration abnormally high rpms, even when the car is stopped louder engine noises rpm is increasing suddenly while driving downhill without acceleration this vehicle is less than one year old and costs over $40,000. I should not be forced to drive a new car that may have hidden or delayed engine damage. Safety concern: I have a [xxx], and I cannot risk sudden engine failure, stalling, or fire while driving. This is not only a reliability issue, but a serious safety hazard for my family and others on the road. Attempts to resolve: reported to Hyundai corporate, case opened. The dealership admitted the mistake but denied responsibility after the inspection. Hyundai corporate stated “no action until further inspection,” despite clear evidence of negligence. I continue to experience performance and safety issues. Requested action: I urge NHTSA to investigate this incident and hold Hyundai accountable for both the dealership’s negligence and the potential safety defects (oil light failure, possible hidden engine damage). Consumers should not be left to drive unsafe vehicles, especially when children’s safety is at stake. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Equipment problem #14

Forward attention assist keeps going off. For no reason. Eyes are on the road and head is forward.

Equipment problem #15

I’m writing to report a recurring issue with the forward attention warning (faw) system in my 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe. The system frequently triggers warnings even when I am fully attentive and driving safely. These alerts are not only distracting, but they also reduce my confidence in the vehicle’s safety systems overall. I have reviewed the settings and attempted to adjust or disable the faw feature, but it either cannot be turned off entirely or continues to act erratically despite adjustments. I’ve also verified that the cabin camera is clean and unobstructed.

Equipment problem #16

I purchased a brand new 2024 Santa Fe xrt back in March of 2024. And around December my front end started shaking and I had bad vibrations in my front in when I was finally able to get it into the Hyundai dealership in January they told me it was my front 2 rotors where warped my vehicle only has 13k miles and shouldn't have rotor issuses. Even though it was covered under warranty all the dealership did was resurface the rotors and said the vibration is gone. They also said if it does it again just to bring it back but a new vehicle shouldn't have warped rotor issues with less than 15k miles.

Equipment problem #17

The driver assist warning/dinging coffee cup is a distraction while driving. It can ding up to every 4 minutes. This is a feature that should be able to be turned off.

Equipment problem #18

The drive attention warning system turned off the cruise control. Causing the vehicle to unexpectedly decrease speed on the interstate, which forced the cars behind me to brake hard to avoid hitting me. This system is constantly giving alerts for no reason distracting my attention to the road. I can have both hands on the wheel and looking straight forward and the system gives an alert tone and flashes a message on the screen stating it can see my face. If the cruise control is on it will disengage the cruise. If the cruise is not engaged it just keeps alert every 20 miles or so. I have taken it to the dealer, who showed me how to turn it off , but it still alerts over and over again.

Equipment problem #19

Traveling back from aurora CO to iowa the heating stopped working in three hours of our trip. A code came up and the heating shut down. Which allowed the windshield to be frozen over while I was driving. Rain freezing to the windshield. Had to stop frequently because of code p007100. Hyundai relies on an ambient temperature sensor for heating within the vehicle. It froze over while Hyundai relies on an ambient temperature sensor for heating within the vehicle. It froze over while I was driving was driving. Other cars were driving just fine because they didn’t have heat within their car. So Hyundai needs to have a special recall on this for a safety concern and cold weather.

Equipment problem #20

I had my vehicle serviced at Hyundai of kirkland, located at 11800 124th Ave ne, kirkland, wa 98034, on December 19th, 2024. During the service, the dealership did not inform me of any active recalls on my vehicle, nor did they address any recall-related issues. I believe it is their responsibility to notify customers of recalls and ensure proper servicing as required.

Equipment problem #21

Car try to stop in highway, automatically acceleration doesn’t work and speed drop down even try to push gas paddle it doesn’t run goes very slow speed goes down 30 m/h feel very danger and very scary!.

Equipment problem #22

If am wearing my sunglasses or I am holding the steering wheel in a certain way my car will assume I am not looking at the road and turn off my cruise control. If I do not take my sunglasses off right away or move my arm my car starts breaking and alerts me to take control of me vehicle. My driver attention setting is off. I have almost been rear ended twice because of this. Hyundai has acknowledged that is this a serious design flaw and a safety concern but has no solution.

Equipment problem #23

After car is idle, when pressing the gas, the car instantly stops as if you have slammed on the break, feeling like you have driven into a brick wall. The intensity of the stop causes you to jerk aggressively in your seat. This has happened on more than one occasion. Without a seatbelt it would cause injury as well as the possibility of causing an accident with other vehicles. When this happens, there were no warning lights or messages shown to indicate an issue. The vehicle is currently at the dealership as of 9/20/2024, they are trying to replicate the issue however it has been more than 2 weeks, and they have not found a resolution. They have run diagnostics tests and there was nothing that indicated the issue with the vehicle. As of today, 10/9/2024, the issue has not been resolved and the vehicle remains in the dealers possession.

Equipment problem #24

If I wear dark sunglasses, the forward collision avoidance turns off while using cruise control. If I wear lighter sunglasses, it is fine. Unfortunately, I have to wear darker sunglasses due to previous eye surgery. I am unable to utilize cruise control without compromise to my eyes because forward collision avoidance doesn’t work with darker glasses. This happens every time I test it and change sunglasses with differing shades of protection.

Equipment problem #25

On July 3, 2024 the vehicle was parked on my driveway. My driveway is very steep, the sun was out and it was windy. I opened the car and got in, the wind caught the door and it slammed shut. The back window shattered and many small glass particles were on ground behind the car and on the backs of the second and third row seats that were down. If someone had been sitting in the third row seat they would have been cover in glass. The dealer said that this could not have happened as described, but it did, and that I should repair the window my self. The glass is only 1/8 inch thick and I asked the glass company if they could get a thicker pane, none is available. I believe the manufacturer should recall and replace the back window with a stronger pane. Pictures and repair invoice to be mailed.

Equipment problem #26

The driver attention warning and forward attention warning features are triggered way too often and even when I have my eyes on the road ahead of me. Even if I try to disable it. It's very annoying!!.

Equipment problem #27

The glass on the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe seems to be incredibly unsafe. 2 weeks after purchasing the vehicle, while driving on [xxx], something kicked up into the windshield and cracked it. The crack was about 12 inches long. Overnight, the crack doubled in length. The replacement glass that was ordered to safelite was broken upon delivery. While waiting for a new windshield, something else hit the windshield on the interstate and there was another chip. 2 weeks after my windshield was finally replaced, I found that the passenger front window was cracked in the top corner and had no idea why. Within 2 days, the window was cracked all the way from the top to the bottom. This weekend, something hit the windshield on the interstate again, and the windshield is once again cracked/chipped. I have owned 11 cars in 16 years and none of them have ever had windshield damage, despite spending my entire driving life in the same area. Now, a new car that I purchased for the purpose of avoiding maintenance costs has had 3 cracked/broken windows in 12 months, and I've spent $1000 on glass and will now have to spend another $100-$500 more to fix this one. Hyundai warranty does not cover it. Glass coverage is not an option for insurance in north carolina. I believe that the glass on newer Hyundai vehicles is very cheap, defective, and unsafe. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Equipment problem #28

Purchased this car new from crain Hyundai, conway ar, on 4/1/2024. On 4/3 we called dealer because bluelink reported 13 maintenance critical issues needed immediate service. Took the vehicle to dealer on 4/4. They worked on vehicle, said they fixed issue and notices would disappear over night. Issues did not, so 4/5 dealer had vehicle picked up, loaner left, and they would fix in 2 days. Issues still not fixed on 4/8. They have no idea how to fix and they want us to accept vehicle as-is. Was told this morning by dealer staff that there has been multiple occurrence of this issue and not fixed.

Equipment problem #29

I bought my car in 2024 and my monitor keeps glitching out. One month into buying the car, the monitor began glitching out, affecting my gps. These problems began in March. I took it to service in may, and they said they had it fixed. However, after a little bit, the same monitor problems came back. There were multiple times where my monitor went completely blank when I was driving far, leaving me shocked and scared. The monitor also went completely blank when I was reversing, almost leading to an accident because of this car's failure. I contacted service again, and they said that I would have to wait a month for the car to be looked at. But I don't want to wait this long, because I am not comfortable with this car anymore and am scared that something might happen because of the monitor glitches.

Equipment problem #30

I have had my car for less than a year. I do drive it a lot. I have about 23,000 miles on it. I have three rock chip repairs that have already been done. In addition, I have tiny dots all over my windshield where rocks have just imprinted on it. That is very abnormal.
