One problem related to noises during shifting has been reported for the 1998 Hyundai Sonata. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
When shifting from 2nd to drive there is a reving of the tachometer sometimes up to 4,000 rpm before the shift is completed and sometimes there is a banging noise.
