I understand there is an airbag recall on some model cars, I drive a 2000 Hyundai Sonata GLS that has an airbag light activated on the dashboard. I don't know if the airbag is defective, I should not drive it, or what to do, please advise. This airbag lite on the dashboard goes on as soon as I start the engine, and stays on all the time the engine is running, this airbag light does not go off until I turn the engine off.
"takada recall " transmission don't shift check engine light is on it is suck in 3rd gear next time start car no check engine light car shifts but bangs hard in and out of next gear then check engine light comes on and car is stuck in third gear. Also air bag light is on all time.
Air bag light came on and stayed on. Dealer (taylor Hyundai) denied that there was an air bag recall on this model.
The contact owns a 2000 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that the air bag indicator is constantly illuminated, which means that the air bags are deactivated. The dealer turned off the indicator with the use of a computer; however, the indicator illuminated again. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and they turned off the light with the computer again, but the failure recurred. The contact received a recall notice for NHTSA campaign id number 01v347000 regarding the air bag indicators. The current mileage was 97,000 and failure mileage was 96,000.
New Hyundai Sonata purchased in 2000. Motor vehicle recall notice received regarding air bag wiring harness. Car was taken in for recall. The recall was "fixed" according to the dealer. The air bag wiring harness connector has not been fixed correctly. The air bag light still goes off, because the connector must be loose and disconnects. Dealer states that owner must be disconnecting the wiring by placing objects under the seat. The owner does not put objects under the seat. The recall issue has not been fixed so that the wiring harness is securely fastened.
I had my bearings replaced, my rear hub bearings. Now it is making to same noise and they now say it is not the bearings-they do not know what it is! my car idle sounds like is going to stall all the time when I am stopped. The car pulls around 5,20 and 50 mph like it just cannot get gas or the transmission is bad. I brought it in 2xs. They say they do not know what it is and cannot get anything on the diag machines. Now I am passed 60,000 miles. After having my car for 2 days (giving me no lender or rental) they found a problem at the last minute. Oil leaked from the valves into the spark plug wires into the coil pack and that is the car pulling problem. They say I have to pay $600 to fix it. This was on June 6,2003. I brought the car in for the idle which was not fixed and brought it in for this engine hesitation 2xs. Both times they did not and couldnot fix these problems. I have the receipts that they could not fix nor repeat these problems, but they are noted. I should not have to pay for these repairs!!!! this is not daily upkeep!! this must be defect!! I have a real problem with this car! I need to be contacted on this matter for Hyundai to pay for these repairs! I am having a difficult time on this matter. These parts need to be replaced now and I cannot and shouldn't have to pay for these parts or labor! I also have had my front driver window regulator fixed 4 times, my front passenger side regulator fixed once, my rear regulator fixed once. I had to buy a new battery for my car and a new headlight in the first year(Hyundai said I had to submit paperwork to see if they would vote to repay me for my cost of the battery). I had my air bag light going off(which now I never trust for it to go off when needed or even go off when not ). My paint is chipping everywhere! my front passenger window leaks all over my carpet inside floor. And many more problems! thank you, darlene liddane dliddane@earthlink. Net 941-637-0802.
Consumer is still having problems after recall has been performed on the vehicle. Recall#01v34700 air bag light srs. City motors 700 east hwy20 michigan city, in 46360. Mr.
Consumer states that while driving at any speed and no warning the air bag light comes on and the air bag could be inoperative in the event of a vehicle accident. Dealer notified. Consumer stated that the air bag was serviced three times but the problem still exists.
Vehicle stalled without prior warning, and then engine check light/ air bag light came on dashboard. Dealership was aware of problem.
The airbag light comes on. The district manger, jeff westland out of n. J. , (609) 395-7308 stated that Hyundai is aware of a defect in the right passenger seat (late 1999's & early 2000's that rolled off the assembly) which makes the light come on if a person moves around in the seat, excessive weight of a passenger, or putting any object under the seat. What I find outrageous about this, is the last two times I've taken my vehicle in, I've been told that the airbag light was not on. When I spoke with mr. Westland, he wanted me to leave the car for several days at the dealship, first team, so they could go over it bumper to bumper. On January 8, 2001 I took the car into the dealer so they could look at the transmission and the airbag light which was on again. On that evening, at approximately 5:00, I received a call from the dealship, asking if I could come into the dealership the next morning to drive with one of their mechanics because they could not duplicate the problem with the transmission. I was unable to do so because of work. I was also told that the airbag light had not been on . I picked up the car that evening since, "nothing was wrong with it" and would be unable to test drive it with a mechanic. . I do not understand why the dealership is saying that the airbag light has not been on the last several times when it has been. The transmission sporatically downshifts when I am driving on the freeway on a straight and level surface at a constant speed. It also hesitates sometimes when starting off from a dead stop. If you would like any of the invoices stating the repairs that have been done to these two problems, please contact me. Thank you for your help.
I bought a Hyundai Sonata in December. I just got my car out of the service department for the third time. Air bag light keeps activating on our car and the dealer and manufacturer will do nothing about it. We checked into the lemon law and understood that we fall into that category. The dealership agrees, but now will not refund our money. I do not feel safe with my children in that car. There are duel front air bags, along with side impact air bags. One of the first times we had it serviced, the service department said the light kept coming on because there was a problem with the air bag. I want to know what I can do about it, since the dealer will not cooperate. Thank you for your time on this matter.
The airbag light illuminated. The consumer took the vehicle to the dealer. The dealer replaced a part and the light went off for a day and then came back on. Please describe further.
