The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 mph the vehicle was losing forward momentum. The contact stated that a warning message illuminated "hybrid system fault stop driving" and the check engine and battery lights illuminated as well as a warning chime sounded. The contact was able to pull off of the road and turned the vehicle off and on and regained normal vehicle functionality. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent but had become a recurring failure. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the propulsion battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 51,803.

Hybrid Propulsion System problem #2

The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Sonata hybrid. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the hybrid system warning light illuminated and then the vehicle stalled. The contact turned off the vehicle and restarted the vehicle to correct the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that no error codes appeared in the code reader; however, the dealer replaced the oil pump. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 108,000.
