Vehicle Speed Control problem #1

Car was parked, full stop, doors shut, seatbelt on. Foot on brake. Car then seemed to lurch forward by itself forward hitting parking cement block. Put in reverse to back away and car stayed still. . . Then I tapped the gas again to back up and insted vehicle plowed forward. Instead. Of reverse . . . Went over the parking block and hit concrete beam in front, when the car should have backed up in reverse. I'm a person who drives speeed limits, and ulta careful when I drive, and parked at this place/spot for years. This has never happened not sure why it did. No injuries or other people involved thank god, but scared the heck out of me. Wracking my brain, my recalls and software and service appts are up ro date. Nothing out of ordinary that day. I'm confused and shaken, why the first lurch forward and why did going in reverse move it forward? ugh. It drove home fine. Commute to work daily for years, no issues. All I can guess is gear didn't click to reverse and was somehow in drive? ive been going over the possibilities in my head for human error but they dont make sense - again I've been driving for 40 years. If it happens to other models, would love to know! car will go to repair tomorrow as "my fault" via insurance, hoping they can see more if any error codes, to at least say if reverse didn't engage or something else happened. May have been human error but it's so out of the ordinary for me. Thanks!.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #2

Unknown- while driving on highway, from 70 mph speed the car suddenly lost acceleration and speed dropped. No response to accelerator. Even with pushing the accelerator high, car will go in high rpm and speed will barely reach 40 mph. I was lucky that there was no other vehicle behind me, especially heavy automobile like semi truck as it would have crashed in me from behind due to sudden propulsion loss. The car started working fine next day. I took it to dealer and they couldn't find any error code but said it could be 12v battery bms software update and they updated it. They mentioned that this is not a safety issue which is mind-blowing and concerning as this is a major safety hazard. I would request you to investigate this further and if this is a software issue then please direct Hyundai to update this with all vehicles and cover the cost for those who have had to pay for it.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #3

The Hyundai Sonata was brought to a stop in a parking lot. When the driver went to put it in park, the vehicle accelerated across the parking lot and smashed into a solid wall. The driver broke her right ankle from standing on the brake pedal. The brakes were ineffective at stopping the vehicle. The collision avoidance system failed to activate or warn of the impending collision. The driver and passenger were severely injured and the car is considered a total loss. There were numerous other injuries sustained. No one outside of the vehicle was injured.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #4

I have had three occasions where the dashboard lights would flash and the car would lose all power. The first occasion occurred on December 29th at around 12:20 pm at a crowded intersection. The dashboard lights lit up and all of a sudden the car had no power at all. I managed to get it through the intersection and pull it off to the side of the road. To start it up I have to turn off the car by putting it in park and start it up again. This is stressful and terrifying to think about if this had happened on the freeway. Additionally, I took the car to get serviced and was charged a $1,800 bill to fix it in January. This repair took two weeks to complete. The car has since turned off two additional times on February 15th going down a hill at 40 mph and March 26th on a mountain road going 60 mph. I am very concerned this will happen on the highway and I will get into a serious accident or worse. To make matters more difficult, I have taken the car back to the Hyundai dealer again to have it looked at in April and will most likely be without the car for at least another week. I bought the car brand new and the check engine light has gone off four times since then.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #5

My concern is a potential unintended acceleration forward as. I was. Parking vechicle. Sudden burst of speed, went thru shrubbery and off a 2 foot wall. Felt as if we were taking off a runway in a plane. Car went nose up over the wall and then dropped into a neighbor yard digging a divot, ripping rear left fender and bumper with some undercarriage problems. My spouse and I were seatbelted and not injured. I can not recall any safety warning until car stopped and then do recall a message being on dash but cannot presently recall what it said. Vehicle currently being worked on at collision center where insurence appraisor gave go ahead with estimate to repair damages.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #6

Purchased a new Hyundai 2023 Sonata from mcgovern Hyundai rt 2 may 22, 2023. After two weeks of driving the vehicle, I noticed it hesitates when I push down on the gas pedal. I had planned to have the dealership take a look but have a very busy schedule, the issue continued each time I drove the car to the point it was hesitating, basically pausing as I cross intersections. On the 26th of July I was driving on the highway, as I started to experience issues when stepping on the gas. Entering a tunnel in boston, I pushed down on the gas pedal and noticed the car was decelerating, I was losing speed, in a panic in the center lane of the tunnel, I was able to get the car over to the far right. The car was shaking aggressively then finally just gave out and I called 911. They towed the vehicle to the police headquarters, I called Hyundai for assistance. Had some hiccups but two days later they were able to service the vehicle, supposedly found a faulty fuel injector. They changed out the 1 faulty injector test drive and said the problem was fixed. I picked up my car on July 28th 2023. There is something still wrong with the car, it still has some hesitation and now misfires. Have not heard from Hyundai, I was assigned a case manager and told someone would follow up, no one has reached out. So lucky my children were not in the car and that I'm safe. I could have been killed, others could have been hurt/killed. This should not happen to brand new cars.
