Battery Problems of Hyundai Sonata Hybrid

Tl the contact owns a 2011 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid. While driving 60 mph, the check engine indicator illuminated and the vehicle stalled. The contact also stated that the battery became drained and could not be recharged. The vehicle was taken to spradley barr motors inc. (2200 westland rd, cheyenne, wy 82001, 307-638-3335) where it was diagnosed that the oil filter contained metal fragments. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and stated that they were waiting for the warranty company to diagnose the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 112,000.

The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid. While driving 50 mph, a warning indicator illuminated directing the contact to place the vehicle in park. Also, the battery charge was low. After waiting an hour for charging, the vehicle jerked and bucked. The warning indicator illuminated again, stating that the battery voltage was extremely low. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, but the cause of the failure was undetermined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was approximately 97,000.

The warning signal "hybrid safety warning do not drive" appeared and I could not move my car. The day before I drove my car with no problem and then when I was about to drive this morning I received this warning. My car had to be towed to a local dealership so they can run diagnostics. From reading other complaints, it seems that this is happening to other Sonata Hybrids. I am worried about the lithium battery and not sure what is causing this. I have only had the car for a year and it might be time to look for a new one.
