1 Clutch problem

The contact owns a 2005 Hyundai Tiburon. Upon purchasing the vehicle, the clutch would stick intermittently. The manufacturer explained that the failure occurred because the vehicle was new. On October 24, 2007, the clutch locked up while driving 15 mph. The contact was eventually able to free the clutch and continue driving. The clutch failed completely and the dealer stated that it was not their responsibility because the vehicle was out of warranty. The contact was informed that if he took the vehicle to a third party, it would not be recognized by the dealer. The VIN and engine size were unknown. 2 Clutch problem

Clutch slippage on my 2005 Hyundai Tiburon se which I reported to my dealer at lax Hyundai before I reach 60,000 miles, I was then told that it was going to cost me upwards to 800 plus dollars just to have it replace. My car is warranted upto 100,000 miles under the hpp program which cover mostly all components on my vehicle. After researching the issue that I am having with my car which was purchased brand new, I discovered a compliant trend for the same problem with my car model beginning since it's introduction in 2003. Researching more into the problem there seems to be a defect in the clutch valve spring the prematurely wears out the clutch. When I took my car in for diagnosis the mechanic even stated that the clutches are bad and that he was shocked that my car lasted as long as it did on the original clutch, something that caused suspicion in how much Hyundai backs their own products.

3 Clutch problem

I bought a 2005 Hyundai Tiburon gt manual transmission on may 18, 2007. The clutch failed the first day I bought the car. Car lot agreed to put new clutch in. Three months later the transmission bearings broke. I replaced flywheel and had transmission rebuilt. 2 months after that the bearings broke again. I had Hyundai do the work on the transmission rebuilt. I am out of pocket $2,000, not to mention the upside down amount I was when I had to get out from underneath this car, because I cannot afford to put $2,000 in the car every 3 months.

I have a 2005 Hyundai Tiburon with less that 20000 miles on it, I took the car to the dealer ( rick case Hyundai) on weston, florida because the gears when I shift are not working properly, I left the car in the dealer and I receive a call from rick case stating that I have to authorized the 5 hours that will take to diagnostic what was wrong with the car, I told then that this car come with 5 years / 60,000 bumper to bumper miles warranty and I didn't think I was liable for any cost. The dealer when further to say that most likely cause of damage was the clutch on the car and that was not cover under the warranty, I did sign the paper as to the 5 hours to inspect the vehicle at $95. 00 per hours which is ridiculous to me that it will take 5 hours to know what's wrong with the car, I further when in to different website on the internet to find about Hyundai warranty and if other people had same problems, I was shocked to found that so many people had the same problem with this particular car (tiburon) and that every time Hyundai has put the blame on owners stating that they don't know how to drive stick shift, there is even a class action suit in California for the 2003 Tiburon after some lawyers have found that Hyundai have know in the past that this problem is cause by poor quality parts and that they have make owners like me to pay around $2000. 00 for repairs in cars that is supposed to be cover by warranty, Hyundai is misleading the public with all those ads about american best warranty, I do believe that you as part of my government should investigate and bring this company to the same standard as to american car manufacture, as of myself I will make sure that everyone knows how this company treat customer and how they lie as to the warranty.

5 Clutch problem

My brand new Hyundai Tiburon's clutch failed. I felt it slipping for a few days, I did not know it was slipping because I have never felt a clutch slp until this new car, and it went out. I pulled over and got it towed. I was told that the clutch was "wasted" and it would cost $1400. 00 to replace. This clutch was less than 18 months old and I have driven manual for years prior to this car. I was told it was my driving ability and that there was no leeway. I saw that there is a class action suit for this type of vehicle and the same story I have is posted all over the internet. This has to be addressed because people are getting their money stolen. I told them I was going to another garage who charge $900. 00. When they heard that they lowered their price to $900. If I had not stated another garage they would have hustled me and I'm sure they have hustled others. They have to be stopped.

6 Clutch problem

I purchased a new 2005 Hyundai Tiburon on March 09, 2005 in cincinnati, ohio. At about 9,000 miles I noticed the car was behaving differently. By 16,000 miles even I who am not mechanical could figure out that the clutch was failing. I was amazed that this could be the case with so few miles on it, however. At this time I am living in southern California so I can safely sat that at least 2500 of those miles were accumulated on the interstate moving the car from ohio. The dealer in cathedral city, CA blamed me for the failure implying that I was not capable of driving a manual transmission. I, however, am 39 years old, have had 11 new cars since I began driving and all of them were manual transmissions. The only time I have ever needed to have a clutch assembly replaced was my previous car, a 2000 Mitsubishi eclipse gt with 93,000 miles (I have that documentation). I am concerned that this is going to be a recurring issues every 10-20,000 miles at least $1000. 00 each time. This should have never failed in the first place and then it certainly should have been covered by the warranty. Hyundai agreed to pay 60% as a "good will" gesture. I have the extended warranty and I had never encountered a clutch that failed so early on. The other major issue are the tires which are michelin mxv4 plus. I have had every one replaced once and two replaced twice. They don't seem to be able to stay inflated. I purchased a protection plan after the third replacement but I am worried about one of the tires going flat late at night. This is all ridiculous for a new car.

8 Clutch problem

I drive a 2005 Hyundai Tiburon v6 with a 6 speed manual transmission. After less than 25k miles my clutch started acting up by not disengaging the engine when pressing the clutch down. This happened suddenly one day when I was at a light and when it turned green I put it into first and the car lunged forward and stalled. I took it to the dealer and they told me that I needed a complete new clutch and the plate was completely worn (which it is still not worn and I now have 73k on it because I use it for a delivery car. ) however, the clutch pedal is still a growing problem. As I let out the clutch in any gear it is not a smooth engagement, but a very harsh and abrupt engagement causing the car to leap at any gear with the petal almost fully to the floor. I have been pulled over 2 times at a stop light for "unnecessary acceleration" because I barked 1st gear. Each time I was able to get out of it by letting the officer test drive the car in the parking lot. Also for the past 20k miles I have had trouble changing gears, it has been random but has been happening more frequently, when ever I would change gears while moving with clutch fully pressed the gears have ground and I sometimes can not get the car into any gear unless I match the rpms to the correct speed for the gear. I might as well be driving with out a clutch. The worst problem: when the jumpy clutch and the non-disengagement combine in stop and go traffic or in reverse. The car will lunge forward when I only intend it to go about a foot and I have to slam the brakes on to fight the car from pulling forward with the clutch pressed down as I ripped the gear out of first. . . Which takes a modest amount of strength. This car is not safe to drive but I have to for work. I am an easy driver on the car too, 73k miles and there is no clutch slip.
