Clutch on 2006 Hyundai Tiburon has loads of problems. Car barely functions and I have been driving manual transmission my whole life. Full warranty will not cover because they claim it is "wear" related. It is not. Started at only 25,000 miles.
I have a 2006 Hyundai tiboron and the clutch went after only 33,000 miles. Absolutely unheard of! the warranty that's supposed to be so wonderful, is only for 12,000 miles or one year on the clutch! I have heard about many other people saying how badly made the clutch parts are on the Hyundai's. They should be called out on it, it's a safety issue.
2006 Hyundai Tiburon se v6 has 32,000 miles on it. Never beat or raced. Clutch was working fine one day. I went to go for a ride in my car the next day and couldn't get out onto the road. I barely made it to the side of the road to have the car towed! now the dealership is quoting me $2600 for a repair. The clutch is not covered under warranty but my gut feeling is that this isn't a problem with the clutch! it has to be a problem with the design. Please help! I own a 2006 v6 Hyundai Tiburon. At 28,000 miles my clutch began to give me problems. I went to the dealership they found a major hydraulic leak in my master and slave cylinders. They thought that might have been the problem and replaced them under warranty. It did not fix the problem and I have to replace the clutch and flywheel.
2006 Hyundai Tiburon seems like a high performance sports car. And it looks slick, but something about its manual clutch, fly wheel, master cylinder, presser plate, all that and more. Makes this 06 tibby a peace of bad engineering garbage! I bought this car Jan 9 2007 with 3333 miles on it on July 24 2007 with 14,687 "I had to pay" 1,865. 25 dollars to replace the mesh flywheel, presser plate, and clutch in my brand new 2006 Hyundai Tiburon! this is crazy, the factor, Hyundai, car max, or my extended warranty wouldn't cover this! here I am again oct. 26 2008 with 44,000 miles my tibby is in the shop again. This time its the master cylinder, as often as I keep seeing this happen to other owners, of the 2006 Hyundai Tiburon I know its not just me or my car alone, its a big problem with every owner! if something isn't done about this, then my fellow 06 Hyundai Tiburon owners, my lawyer with dates and copies of repair receipt just waiting for my q to file something on Hyundai, and I will try to have this problem taken care of because of until now nobody has! Hyundai should not want ppl telling other ppl not to get a Hyundai because they build bad vehicles should they? that's bad business all around!.
July of 2007 I was having problems getting my car into gear. I brought it to the dealer I bought the car from and they told me that it was a pin that was bent relating to my clutch which I later find out was the master cylinder which was covered so their was no out of pocket expense however a little less than a year later in July of 2008 I was having the same problem so I bring the car back to the dealer and now they are telling me I need a clutch pressure plate release bearing and a flywheel which is not covered my car is less than two years old and has just over 27k miles I learned to drive on my permit using a manual transmission my first car was a manual and now this is my first brand new car and its also a manual I have never burned out a clutch.
My clutch went out of my car after thirty five thousand miles. I understand that it is a wear item but I know how to drive stick and that is way to soon for it to go out. Now it has been another thirty five thousand miles and it is going out again. I talked to others who have had the same problem. There should be a recall on the 2006 Hyundai Tiburon. When the clutch went out it was fine one day and grabbing at the floor the next it didn't get progressively bad. Other Tiburon owners were only getting twenty five thousand miles out of their clutches, so clearly this is a huge problem.
Events leading up to the failure: acceleration is dangerously slow. Engine output is low while the input of gas is high. Gear shifting is normal but, results are mediocre.
I have a 2006 Hyundai Tiburon v6 5-speed. The manual transmission broke at 49,000 miles - not just the clutch, but all the major components of the transmission. This is a very common problem with this model - there has already been a class action law suit involving this model, but earlier years (03-04 - same car as the 06). Hyundai will not fix the problem and has not recalled the vehicles.
