I have a 2006 Hyundai, Tiburon gt with the 2. 7 litre v-6 and 5 speed manual transmission. After shifting from 1st to 2nd gear, the car jerks (like when you 1st learn to drive a manual) on several occasions I have came very close to being rear ended when this happens!!! and sometimes it wont come out of 1st gear when car is stopped/parked, you have to shut the car off put it in neutral then it will go into whatever gear you want.
Steering had a twitch which mad it a challenge to steer, as a result which led to a crash the passenger front tie rod assembly cracked while driving at 35 mph, and disengaged from the vehicle and the vehicle then dipped to the ground suddenly and bounced causing the vehicle to literally go airborn for a brief moment which then caused the vehicle to go out of control.
I want to report this Hyundai dealer(s): allen samuels Hyundai 7724 n. E. Loop 820 north richland hills, TX 76180 (817) 276-7700 location where I purchase my car and tried to have warranty service on 08/14/10. They refused warranty service to replace a catalyst and an o2sensor that caused me to not pass a state inspection . I already paid for at a licensed kwik kar location in denton texas. The car flunked the state inspection that I have already paid for and they are refusing to refund my money and say I need repair. My car has 14000 miles on it now. I have ran over 500 miles on my car on the advise of kyle, service manager at the ekert Hyundai in denton where I took my car on Wednesday. Then, today I went to the dealer and talked to with mike and a woman there at allen samuels in person ready to get car fixed. He told me same thing that the other told me about running the miles on it. Also, he said that he has contacted the manufacturer and the manufacturer Hyundai there is no fix on this issue. I have a one year old car that needs warranty work and is not passing texas inspection and a Hyundai dealers say that there is no fix. They want to charge 100. 00 or more to drive my car to see if it will fix. There is no guarantee. What about the warranty he said to drive up to 1000 miles and if the O2 sensor was not failed he and your company have no obligation to repair. I am questioning the warranty on my car and the fact that I have been denied a state inspection sticker and cannot get it repaired. The manufacturer address is Hyundai motor America p. O. Box 20850 fountain valley, CA 92728-0850 (800) 633-5151.
I purchased a new 2006 Hyundai Tiburon in February 2006. I have had an alignment problem ever since I bought it. My car has always pulled right. We have purchased new tires and alignments every six months and just recently had a bolt kit put on it also. I went to a dealer service department and had them look at my car after I had just had it aligned and had tires put on. The car was still pulling to the right. They put it on an alignment machine and said that nothing should be wrong with it because it was showing as being aligned. I have filed complaints with both the ftc and the bbb auto line. Please ask Hyundai to fix the alignment problem properly and also reimburse us for our expenses.
2004 Tiburon had a problem with the air condition, speakers rattle, cigarette lighter and problems when switching to first and reverse gears. The sun roof didn't close properly. The air bag light illuminated due to a loose connection under the seat. One of the taillights were out.
Power windows do not work, drivers side went 13 months after bought car, then passenger side, now both do not work.
I bought my 2004 Tiburon in July of that year, and had to get rid of it (even rolled the loan money over), in 2006, I hated it so much. The paint chipped off all over the car, the seat color was wearing off, the dashboard color wore off, the lights on the radio went out. Of course not one of the issues were covered under the great warranty the offer. My sister got the same car, she had her automatic/manual shifter go, her tires were completely bare after 2 years, her gas cap paint came over, down to the metal. This was the worst car ever made.
I purchased a 2003 black Hyundai Tiburon in March 2003. I have recently noticed paint chips all over the hood. I have also noticed fading which resulted in a circular form rippling of paint, which the dealer claims to be environmental factors.
I have had problems with my Tiburon since I got the car most of the things have been covered by warranty. November 17 2001 the car had 2486 miles on it the alarm started going off while I was driving down the highway. I got it turned off about 20 minutes later and for the next two days the alarm kept going off for no reason. Nov 20 I couldn?t get it to turn off at all so I took it to the dealership. The said a wire shorted out and fixed it at no cost to me. In December of 2002 the drivers side door started sticking and one day I came out of work and it wouldn?t open at all I took it in to the dealer they said the door was falling off and that they replaced a latch at no cost to me. The car was at 17642 miles at this time. The day before my appt for the door I was driving and all the sudden the radio just went off and wouldn?t come on. They had to replace the radio also at no cost to me. January of 03 was when the big problem started with the engine the car wouldn?t start I had it towed to Hyundai they said there was carbon build up on the engine. They cleaned it and gave it back they didn?t find the cause and didn?t explain anything else to me. But at that time the car only had 18704 miles on it. Since then the car has had problems starting I?ve taken it back to the dealer a few times the car died on the road and the check engine light came on I had it towed in they said it was just the spark plugs battery was fine and that the car was due for a tune up which cost me $282. 12 the car was at 27666 miles they also replaced the oxygen sensor that day {11/9/03} at no cost to me. I got the car back {28909 miles}. It still won?t run right and had a hard time starting. I took the car back on 10/21/03. They said that the battery had a bad cell. I didn?t want to pay them for anything but the tech there said if I didn?t they couldn?t look at the car anymore until they ruled out the battery being the problem so I spent $58. 37 on a battery.
This is the second time the clutch has gone out. The first time was on may 2003 and I purchased the car in August of 2002. Hyundai flat out refused to pay for the repair and after much hassle they paid to fix it. This second time the clutch went out in August 2003. Hyundai is not wanting to pay to replace clutch. Their reason is that it is not under warranty, it has only been three months since they replaced the clutch. I was told it has a year warranty. They have had my car for three weeks. I have visited many web sites where other people who own this same type of car have had the same problems. I feel that they should fix my car at no cost.
I won a lemon law arbitration case, Hyundai took me to court and I lost and I am still stuck with several problems. One item not included for discussion in the arbitration and court is the matter of false advertisement of horse power rating, which was only disclosed after I purchased my car. 7/19/02 leave deposit to buy car. 8/9/02 pick up car. 8/28/02 first return for service for remote entry. 9/9/02 second return for remote entry for service evening hours no paper work given. 9/11/-9/12/02 third return for service for remote entry. 9/16-9/23/02 fourth return for service for remote entry, paint on car damaged in several places, oil/water leaks , remote fails twice to arm. 1/10/03 drive to toms river NJ, remote fails twice to arm. 3/7/03 pinstripping on passenger side of car coming off. 6/13/03 appear in supreme court , county of westchester, NY 8/7-8/15/03. Fifth return for service for remote entry, correct damage to paint on car in several places and recall on car 8/5/03 date of formal decision of the court 8/21/02 formal decision of the court postmarked 8/21/03 received 8/22/03 document # 2 needless to say I am upset with the challenge brought by Hyundai motor car of America after the recent binding arbitration finding in my favor. I live my life, believing and trusting in the american way. This challenge appears to be nothing more that a delay tactic by the company. They have full time council at their disposal, I don't. I haven't done anything wrong and wish to put this unpleasant experience behind me. When I first called the attorney general's office to inquire about the arbitration process and briefly described the particulars I was encouraged to apply. When my case was accepted by the attorney general I was more encouraged that I was justified in my pursuit. And of course when the decision was made in my favor I was reassured that the american system works.
Paint on the 2003 Tiburon (blue) improper application results in micro flecks of paint coming off of hood and other parts of car. Either adhesion is poor or paint much too thin for the mildest of road conditions resulting in rapidly aging appearance and condition. Unacceptable in my opinion. Need either a tinted clearcoat applied or repainted.
The car will take approximately 3 minutes of continuous cranking to get the car started. At times it will not stay started.
Had cd player replaced, computer failure after that where the check engine light comes on, they replaced it - the the battery died for no reason, they replaced that, now my car is shifting out of control and surges when at stop light with my foot on the brake pedal, while driving 60m mph the car shifts into the same gear continuously and jolts then slows - they cant see a problem and say they cant help me, when they test drive it it's fine - the second I take it home from the dealership it starts up - it is dangerous to drive but since they cant find the problem from a test drive and computer test they dont know what to do except send me home with a dangerous car.
When driving at 65 mph the throttle valves are racing high, and engine check light is on and won't go off.
The car has been into Hyundai dealers 4 times since I've owned it. I am the original owner. Car has been in literally every other month since purchase in October 1998. Major problem has to do with the computer(s) and transmission. Check engine warning light, airbag warning light have both gone off. Car wouldn't shift and would hesitate at highway and side street speeds. Car just returned from dealer yesterday after 4th time in for repair. At 65 mph, the rpms suddenly shot to approx 5800. Car has been terribly unreliable. Hopefully it is fixed now, but I am filing this complaint because I fear that in another 2 months the problems will occur again.
3 weeks after car was bought, brake lights failed. Starting first of Feb. Car would temporarily stall and check engine light would flash on, car would drop to 500 rpm's, then red line to 5500 rpm's.
Check engine light on repeatedly. Yh.
The clutch cannot be used properly due to design of floor mats. Makes the gears tight. Also, cover to fuel tank broke off when opened. The 1997 michelin x tires on front of vehicle broke off due to all lugs: nuts shearing off twice. Taking vehicle back to dealer.
Engine check light stays on while driving, indicating there is a problem within the engine. Dealer keeps replacing engine valves. Please provide further information.
Due to the design of dashboard, reflection of the sun distracts vision.
