36 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/15/2024

The vehicle hesitates sometimes starting from stop/idle and sometimes even when the gas paddle is completely pressed it doesn’t proceed and stalls in middle of road or red light and may take more attempts to get it to move further. I read online that there was a safety recall on this same model in 2016 for this exact same problem but I never received recall on my vehicle from Hyundai.

37 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2024

My windows stopped operating. Both front driver and passenger. The motor runs but I am unable to roll up or down. According to what I’ve read, I am not alone. I worry for our safety and that of my family.

38 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/05/2024

Rear doors will not open from inside or outside. This traps passengers if they are in the back seats. Back seats can only be accessed by climbing in from the front seats.

39 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/31/2024

Front passenger regulator went out. 1 month later rear passenger and driver rear regulator went out. Currently only have 1 potenworking window with a child under the age of 18 that riders in this vehicle a primary vehicle. Extremely unsafe if there was an emergecy. . Seeing others online having same issue.

40 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/27/2024

The passenger door window rolled down but would not come back up. I was able to grab the window and pull it up. This is a safety issue because anyone can just push the window down. Not too mention if an officer needed you to roll down the window you could not.

41 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/25/2024

I can not get my rear left passenger door to open from either inside or outside.

Right front window will not go up regulator bad.

43 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/22/2024

All windows regulators failed one after another. They make sound when trying to close but nothing happens. The windows get stucked.

44 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/22/2024

Drivers side rear passenger door will not open most times. In an emergency situation a rear passenger would not be able to exit.

45 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/14/2024

Passenger door lock-right rear door will not unlock from outside or inside.

46 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/16/2024

The driver side door will no longer open from the outside. I have to crawl through the passenger side to open the door from the inside. According to a google search, this is a common issue with this car.

47 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2024

There is no power when accelerating, especially up a hill. The rpm's hover over 4k for a long time before downshifting, hence, eating up gas like crazy. Also, the passenger side back door does not open at all, the driver's side back door takes several pulls before opening, the driver's door takes 3 pulls to open, and the front passenger door takes a minimum of three pulls to open. The no power just recently started happening. The door issue started in late 2023 and has gotten progressively worse just recently.

48 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2024

My car randomly will not reverse; it's happened a few times, I was alone or with my 5 year old the first time, and next couple of times I've had witnesses (husband and a friend) and this last time I was alone but I took a video. Sometimes my car feels like it has no power or like it's in the first gear struggling to make it past that (it's an automatic but that's the best way I can describe it). Three out of my four doors stick and I have to pull multiple times to get the door opened, even though it's unlocked. I find these issues, while not outright dangerous, can be a hassle especially when I'm in a parking lot trying to reverse into a spot or out of a spot. It's hard for my 8 year old to get in or out of the car cause her door sticks. I feel like when my car is driving sluggish, that I am going to get hit by another car.

49 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/27/2024

Driver side door latch won't open after unlocking with key fob. No warning from inside the car. Have not been to a dealer or independent service center so have not had any inspections. Not necessarily a safety issue at this point but could be in the future. As part of my work, I'm in and out of my car a lot so locking the car is necessary. I should not have to climb over the shift/middle console to unlock it. Should be part of a recall to fix.

50 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2024

Rear doors not opening regardless of door latch being engaged from the inside or outside handles. Due to being unable to open the rear doors, safety of rear passengers in non-emergency and emergency situations is significantly compromised. A formal recall has not been issued, yet in doing a quick internet search, this issue has been prevalent for years, which is very concerning.

51 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/30/2024

All 4 windows will not roll up/ down. Using multiple quarts of oil a week. The heat doesn’t work. Back doors will not open.

52 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/28/2023

A/c failure & heat failure which resulted in an accident. Was not the thermostat.

53 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/12/2023

The windows do not roll up or down. This will jeopardize my safety because my vehicle would prevent me from being able from escaping through the window in an emergency. Or a person that means me harm can pull down my window climb in and pull it back up and hide in my car till I return because I am unable to secure my vehile. The problem is common, we were told that Hyundai Tucsons often have a window issue. I origanly had one windoe with this issue and now 3 out of 4 windows can not automatically roll up or down. It has not been inspected yet. There were no indication prior that this would happen.

54 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/04/2023

The door latch has went out and I am unable to enter my driver side door without pulling the handles more than 5 to 10 times. This is a danger to my safety if I am being followed.

55 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2023

I am filing this complaint regarding my 2016 Hyundai Tucson due to excessive oil consumption. The vehicle burns oil at an abnormal rate, requiring me to add approximately one quart of engine oil every one to two weeks, even though the vehicle is driven very infrequently. This condition poses a serious safety risk because the engine could run low or completely out of oil while the vehicle is in operation, potentially causing sudden engine failure. This vehicle is used to transport my family, including children, which puts their safety at risk. I have taken the vehicle to Hyundai dealerships multiple times for full ispection , but no defect, warning, or solution was ever identified or communicated to me. There have been no warning lights or messages on the dashboard to alert me of low oil levels or engine problems, increasing the risk of failure without warning. The problem is ongoing and repeatable, and the vehicle and engine are available for inspection upon request.

56 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/30/2023

This vehicle is only a 2016 with less than 100k miles on it, and the sunroof, passenger and driver window regulators have already failed and have had to replace them. Now my rear windows are having the same issue and need to be replaced. The company has no recall for these substandard parts yet.

57 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/31/2023

• temperature regulator stopped working •couldn’t use a/c in very hot months, couldn’t use heat in very cold months putting risk of freezing and overheating • independent service •no •no.

58 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/15/2023

Three out of four window regulators failed in my vehicle over the span of 3 months. The windows could not go down nor stay up. This became a safety hazard as I was unable to retain cool air in my vehicle during the summer months and driving at higher speeds on the highway was difficult due to the outside air siphoning into the vehicle from a small window opening. It also would have prevented me from utilizing my two front windows during an emergency situation. The failure of three regulators was unusual as my vehicle has less than 50k miles, was bought brand new in 2016, and has never been involved in an accident. It appears the regulators are faulty/defective.

59 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/15/2023

Power window passenger side, stopped working, it is not the motor, you can hear motor running but window does not work.

60 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/14/2023

2016 Hyundai Tucson eco/fwd front and rear left window regulators don't work. Rear doors locks don't work from inside or outside. This is a safety concern because the doors locked when persons were inside and could not open the doors. The doors only open inserting a screwdriver through the door locks from inside. The windows of the left front and rear door don't open either. The car is 56,000 and Hyundai dealer says car is not covered by extended warranty. There are a plethora of complaints about malfunctioning of Hyundai Tucson and other models door locks and window regulator systems throughout the media. Since these represent huge safety concerns, Hyundai should issue a recall on these parts.

61 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2023

My car has an engine oil leak that has been happening for over a year now since I bought it. I have to change my oil every 2,000 miles because of the leak, when ive been told this car should be changing its oil for every 7,000 miles. My passenger door no longer opens from the outside once my car is unlocked. I have to put my window down in order to get inside and this is a safety hazard.

62 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/17/2023

Manufacture’s defect, all (4) windows quit operating. Hyundai dealer where vehicle was purchased did repair my driver window, however; shortly after that window was repaired, all other (3) windows quit working at the same time. One (1) window was in the down position. Hyundai of new port richey said they would not repair my windows, however; they did get the window up and suggested I purchase door stops to place in the window to keep it up…. This also happened to the other rear window. I live in florida and on August 17, 2023 I had to drive myself to mease/countryside hospital, the heat index was 115 degrees, I had to get into my extremely hot vehicle. I was diagnosed with heat exhaustion. My bill was $ 23,000. I also have a grand baby I have to place in my very hot vehicle when I babysit. Three (3) windows do not function. On September 08, 2023, Hyundai of npr service advisor gave me a ball park quote of $ 750. 00, including labor to repair all three (3) windows…. I then made a formal complaint to the complaint number I found in my vehicle manual: case number hma-CA 22167539 they did not help and referred me to the general manager of the dealership. Now the price to repair is $ 2,100. 00. They will fix if I pay half! I have talked with other 2016 Hyundai Tucson owners who have run into the same problem. The manufacturer is at fault, the window parts are defective! please help me, my health has been affected and I hate putting my grandchild levi in unheathy environment. Thank you for anything you can help me with. Kristine mccullough.

63 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/06/2023

The right rear passenger door would not open from the inside or outside. The child safety lock was not engaged. If there had been an accident, fire or any other incident requiring a quick exit, exit through that door for my 96 year old mother, or any other passenger, would not be possible. I have heard of numerous complaints about this problem. I have not had an inspection of this problem by an outside source. There are no warning lights associated with this problem.

64 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2023

The window regulators of this vehicle break down and stop working consistently. The plastic wheel on the inside of the door panel warps and breaks after a few months of use/being replaced. The temperatures this summer have been close to or over 100 degrees on a daily basis. This is what makes this a safety issue. Windows on the vehicle are stuck in a down position and cannot be rolled back up.

65 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/30/2023

The back passenger door will not open from the inside or the outside. Any back seat passenger safety is at risk because they will be unable to exit the car incase of an emergency.

66 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/28/2023

Lock button on driver's side door handle fell out. Replaced at my cost.

67 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/27/2023

On 10/24/22 I took my 2016 Hyundai Tucson into dealership springfield Hyundai 754 baltimore pike springfield PA 19064 for a faulty drivers side window. At that time they advised the issue with the window was 'striped gear' and replaced 'drivers window regulator' under the extended warranty I purchased when I bought the vehicle. At that same time there was also an issue in the left front door latch and it was replaced under 'warranty. ' on 03/03/23 the right rear door also had a latch issue and was replaced at that time. About a week ago, my front passenger side window stopped working. It will not go up or down. I returned to the same dealership on 07/27/2023. I was advised that 'found right front window regulator and motor gears are splined. Both parts need to be replaced. Charge is $890. 98. ' the car's extended warranty has expired and I would need to pay for this out of my pocket. My concern here is what I consider a trend with my vehicle experiencing window issues and it has not even reached 100k miles - in addition to the door latch issues. By the way, I also have a 2017 Hyundai elantra which has also had to have almost every door latch replaced. After this second window issue popped up, I became curious and searched the internet for 2016 Hyundai Tucson window issues. And to no surprise, there are multiple consumers with complaints reporting the same exact issue as I am, with their windows as well. Based on current trends and concerns with your car manufacturing, parts, missing basic anti-theft tools, cars being stolen, and a plethora of other issues I am confident this issue with my window is at fault of Hyundai's poor production, manufacturing, and quality control. Windows are an emergency exit. In the case of an accident, you need to be able to open the window to exit if it is the only viable option. You can become trapped inside your vehicle if the windows do not work. Window needs to be operable to combat exhaust that may be trapped inside vehicle.

68 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/14/2023

Back doors completely stop working. Not able to open the door from the inside or out.

69 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/03/2023

There are four safety concerns I have with the 2016 Hyundai tuscon: 1. ) the check oil light failed to illuminate indicating the need for more oil. 2. ) the excessive oil consumption may have caused my catalytic converter to misfire and melt. 3. ) the check engine light failed to illuminate when my catalytic converter misfired and melted. 4. ) the knock sensor (if it is bad), which is installed on my vehicle, could fail and not warn me about any engine problems. On 7/3/23, my vehicle was having a difficult time accelerating up a mountain. My brother and I also heard a rattling noise, so my brother drove to a safe place. I had my vehicle towed to a local auto service garage, where I was told the catalytic converter melted due to misfiring and that I needed to replace it. On 7/5/23, I had my vehicle towed to the closest Hyundai dealership, where they confirmed that the vehicle's catalytic converter was melted due to misfiring. After researching the causes catalytic converters misfiring, I read several complaints about the said vehicle's oil consumption and poor acceleration. I suspect there might be a connection to the catalytic converter misfiring and melting. Incidentally, I have had two other incidents where my vehicle lacked acceleration and started shaking. One occurred on 12/28/22, while I was entering an intersection. The other happened on 4/1/23, while I was attempting to pass another vehicle. All three incidents could've ended tragically. The check engine light did illuminate during two of the incidents, but not the incident that occurred on 7/3/23. Additionally, the catalytic converter was previously tested on 12/31/22 and it didn't have any bad codes. Sparkplugs were also replaced on 12/31/22, and a 3-step fuel system cleaning was done on 6/12/23. The check oil light only illuminated once since I have owned the vehicle, but failed to illuminate when my oil was getting low in between oil changes. My SUV is still in service waiting for a catalytic converter.

I have 3 issues. #1. The transmission fails to shift only at certain times resulting in high rpm's on level road. #2. Engine has knocking noise at idle after having the engine knock sensor installed. #3 right, rear passenger door will not open from inside, or outside in spite of inside latch being manually opened or attempting to open with key fob activation.
